    Rock On!!

My bucket list is to attempt to visit all HRC locations!! So, I'm now crossing off Cancun location! I'm a fan of the franchise and history of the music. I've been to over 50 HRC and each one is different. I don't put much emphasis on rating their food versus legitimacy of the restaurant, I view the establishment as a museum with choices to drink and eat reasonably. It's only a matter of time before Planet Hollywood closes its doors ending the silly "copycat" attempt at HRC.

I would definitely skip this place . Let me tell you why Pros: Friendly service Outside seating overlooking the beach Unfortunately that's where all the pros end. Cons: The food was bland and reheated. I ordered a combo appetizer with chicken tenders , southwestern egg rolls , onion rings , toast with bruschetta and hot wings . The "toast" had toaster marks but was soft and soggy no crunch at all. The chicken tenders were crunch but absolutely no flavor at all . I also ordered a milkshake that came out room temperature. The staff was very nice and polite but the food would be much better if it was made fresh and some kind of seasoning . If your looking for American food in Cancun skip this place all together it's not worth the money you will spend.

Came in for dinner as had a discount coupon. We were seated straight away which was great but everything else was disappointing. Ordered drinks I got a diet coke in a can which was warm. For our meal we had the chicken quesadilla which was cooked well and nachos. The nachos was very disappointing hardly Ny topping on them. The air conditioner was hardly working, the wifi didnt work at all. The waiter was abrupt with us and had to do the tip while he was looking at us which we found quite rude. Also had to ask for a receipt.

Steak tastes weird and ranch dressing for salad tasted bad, shake tastes strange I was hoping for American tasting food and not the case, host was very friendly and staff was but food is crap and overpriced. I've been to many Hard Rock's in different countries and in Florida and I will say this is the worst one I've ever been to not sure about the stay here I see the reviews are good as far as staying at the hotel I'm sure that's good but the food experience not good. Waiter came to the table with my salad but without my dressing I had to ask another waiter for it although my waiter is pleasant they're not on it here. Cesar the hostess was great!

Dinner in the cancun strip…read more We decided to pick Porfirio's for the evening from all of the restaurants outside of the all inclusive resorts. I took some notes and this is what I thought of the dishes. Xoajacan Imoladas - The mole is perfection. The flautas, superb. Everything in this plate is a symphony of what I would expect from Xoajaca. 9.5/10 Barbacoa Bonemarrow - Barcacoa is on point. The Marrow is Sublime. Together with the accompaniments is superb. I dream of Marrow everyday. This is a 10/10 Yellow fin Tosatadas - Superb!!! One of the best tostadas I have ever had. The microgreens, the sauce and the square Tostada works well all together. 8.8/10 Salmon - Cooked perfectly. The corn is a great accompaniment. The fish is impeccably seasoned. This dish is heaven sent with a 9.8/10 Grilled Octopus - Grilled perfectly, I can tell by the texture. The mash is superb, they used margarine instead of butter and I absolutely love the contrast from the traditional mash. 9.8/10 Mexican Rice - Its pretty good. It does have a nice seafoodish finish. The pepper was actually spicy. Nice and pleasant rice dish. 8/10 Charred Avocado Salad - Grilled avocado is a bit of a wash. It did make it look good on the plate. The dressing is a little weak. Needs a little more zip, some citrus or vinegar would give this salad some justice. Its a little uninspired 7/10 Service is impeccable and attentive and the atmosphere is lovely.

Anyway: the food, presentation of the dishes itself, and the overall vibe: 4/5. My favorite dish was definitely the steak. The bone marrow is better off being plain without all the stuff they put on top. The steak itself was perfectly cooked & seasoned. I should've took more pictures of the food but whatever- the mango tuna thing with avocado was delicious. Very mango forward. Great alongside some salsa as well. The octopus: OK enough, slightly overcooked. Chewy. Chicharron guac was yum. Our server was so sweet in the beginning but had an attitude after getting tipped 25% LOL other than that, great experience :)

The cabanas were set up living room style with a sofa, coffee table and cabinets for personal belongings. The view from one of the casitas was oceanfront making a lovely backdrop for photos. The music was obnoxiously loud most of the time with pounding bass. Our crowd was celebrating the Grooms and they a great time. In our case, the grooms were running a tab- open bar and order from an extensive bar menu. FOOD: Well presented and the guests seemed to enjoy it. My allergies were an obstacle to most of the menu, but I enjoyed the fruit OUR SERVERS were amazing. Taking orders and finding the guests was like wrangling cats but somehow they did an amazing job. While I do wish they played a tad more reggaeton, they do classify as being a "top 40" club and the DJ lived up to that by playing a perfect blend of 120+ BPM pop, EDM, hip hop and Latin music. We got there about 10:40 and I guess they still hadn't open yet so Diego walked us straight into La Vaquita to get us a drink while we waited. Once Dady'O opened he walked us directly inside and hooked us up with a table! This wasn't included in our basic open bar tickets, but we weren't complaining! Once we stepped onto the deck overlooking the lagoon, the whole experience elevated even further. The scenery was stunning, soft lights reflecting off the water, a gentle breeze, and live music drifting through the air like the perfect soundtrack to an already unforgettable night. Then came the food, each dish was its own little masterpiece. The bread service alone set the tone: warm, golden rolls with just the right touch off salt. The wedge salad followed. It was crisp, cold, and generously dressed, with smoky bacon and bright tomatoes adding all the right contrasts. The dry-aged steak was the star of the table, cooked perfectly with that deep, rich flavor only dry-aging can create. The roasted peppers and silky sauce on the side made every bite feel intentional. The octopus was another standout, tender, beautifully charred, and plated with a vibrant puree that balanced the dish with a touch of sweetness. One of the best plates we had. The table got more entrees since there were 8 of us but didn't get pictures. Sea brass was another favorite. Even the lobster soup arrived with flair: a velvety bowl paired with a seafood-topped toast that brought texture and richness together in one elegant bite. The beef tartare with fries was classic and fresh, refined without losing its fun. Dessert turned into a full performance. The liquid-nitrogen ice cream came with swirling clouds of cold vapor, dramatic and delicious. The birthday cake arrived crowned with berries and a sparkling candle that lit up the whole table. And just when we thought the night couldn't get any more whimsical, out came the towering blue cotton candy, playful, over-the-top, and impossible not to smile at. Harry's doesn't just serve dinner. We came to Harry's a couple years back when we visited Cancun and I am celiac and I had a lovely dinner with my partner. On this visit, we were seated at a beautiful table and we ordered drinks. Our waiter, a bald headed young man 30s, refused to check with the kitchen to see if they could accommodate me. I am celiac not vegan. I was told there was nothing I could eat except steak and he proceeded to show us the entire steak selection. Truthfully I was feeling slightly unwell from not eating the entire day. I felt like fish, he said I can give you dry fish no sauce on top. He suggested maybe we just do appetizers. We had a 8 pm dinner reservation, what the hell would I want to order appetizers and call it day? This waiter was chit chatting with his maitre'd and other wait staff and I felt terribly uncomfortable that i was told I couldn't eat anything from the men, we we all know was ridiculous and not true. We finished our drinks and asked for the check. I made a reservation for Porfirios next door bc I could see they had some gluten free options. Harry's used to be accommodating but no longer. We will not come to Harry's again for food. Not only this, the waiter was trying to once again embarrass us by advising us that we could walk to Porfirios, next door to the restaurant from the back patio. We got up and began walking towards the patio and suddenly I realized he was totally making a fool of us, why would we go from the back if we have to check in with the hostess stand in the front of the restaurant? We walked straight out of Harry's from front door. Never again. So disrespectful and such a rude experience. Not only this, Harry's canceled/ removed our open table reservation (even though we fulfilled it and paid for our drinks and still tipped generously), so I cannot even leave a review and send a private message to the restaurant. Pathetic customer service.
