    Rock On!!

My bucket list is to attempt to visit all HRC locations!! So, I'm now crossing off Cancun location! I'm a fan of the franchise and history of the music. I've been to over 50 HRC and each one is different. I don't put much emphasis on rating their food versus legitimacy of the restaurant, I view the establishment as a museum with choices to drink and eat reasonably. It's only a matter of time before Planet Hollywood closes its doors ending the silly "copycat" attempt at HRC.

I would definitely skip this place . Let me tell you why Pros: Friendly service Outside seating overlooking the beach Unfortunately that's where all the pros end. Cons: The food was bland and reheated. I ordered a combo appetizer with chicken tenders , southwestern egg rolls , onion rings , toast with bruschetta and hot wings . The "toast" had toaster marks but was soft and soggy no crunch at all. The chicken tenders were crunch but absolutely no flavor at all . I also ordered a milkshake that came out room temperature. The staff was very nice and polite but the food would be much better if it was made fresh and some kind of seasoning . If your looking for American food in Cancun skip this place all together it's not worth the money you will spend.

Came in for dinner as had a discount coupon. We were seated straight away which was great but everything else was disappointing. Ordered drinks I got a diet coke in a can which was warm. For our meal we had the chicken quesadilla which was cooked well and nachos. The nachos was very disappointing hardly Ny topping on them. The air conditioner was hardly working, the wifi didnt work at all. The waiter was abrupt with us and had to do the tip while he was looking at us which we found quite rude. Also had to ask for a receipt.

Steak tastes weird and ranch dressing for salad tasted bad, shake tastes strange I was hoping for American tasting food and not the case, host was very friendly and staff was but food is crap and overpriced. I've been to many Hard Rock's in different countries and in Florida and I will say this is the worst one I've ever been to not sure about the stay here I see the reviews are good as far as staying at the hotel I'm sure that's good but the food experience not good. Waiter came to the table with my salad but without my dressing I had to ask another waiter for it although my waiter is pleasant they're not on it here. Cesar the hostess was great!

Breakfast: Options are limited for breakfast at the resort the only options are Tradewinds or El Mercado (the buffet). - Avocado Toast - has this mango sauce/dressing on it. wasn't a fan of that. would've been better without the sauce. - Tradewinds Chilaquiles - this one was ok. - French Toast - Shakshuka Eggs - soupy. it says it's suppose to have eggplant, onions, and peppers. I don't remember that being in there. It was mainly eggs and tomatoes - Omelette Dinner: Better than breakfast - Bread - Yummy. Fluffy and soft. - Lobster Cream Soup - bland. I didn't like it. - Sea Bass - This was my favorite sea bass at the resort. Tasted yummy with the peas and white seafood sauce. This dish is probably carrying the rating on this restaurant for me - Got one of the steaks, it was thinner cut which we felt like may have made it easier for them to over cook.

The highlights has to be their steaks/meat. We literally enjoyed every dish we ordered as a party. You couldn't miss but the flank steak was probably the table's favorite. The short ribs also fell right off the bone. We came back here several times and were glad we did. Note: there are rules when it comes to your attire depending on lunch or dinner. Once we stepped onto the deck overlooking the lagoon, the whole experience elevated even further. The scenery was stunning, soft lights reflecting off the water, a gentle breeze, and live music drifting through the air like the perfect soundtrack to an already unforgettable night. Then came the food, each dish was its own little masterpiece. The bread service alone set the tone: warm, golden rolls with just the right touch off salt. The wedge salad followed. It was crisp, cold, and generously dressed, with smoky bacon and bright tomatoes adding all the right contrasts. The dry-aged steak was the star of the table, cooked perfectly with that deep, rich flavor only dry-aging can create. The roasted peppers and silky sauce on the side made every bite feel intentional. The octopus was another standout, tender, beautifully charred, and plated with a vibrant puree that balanced the dish with a touch of sweetness. One of the best plates we had. The table got more entrees since there were 8 of us but didn't get pictures. Sea brass was another favorite. Even the lobster soup arrived with flair: a velvety bowl paired with a seafood-topped toast that brought texture and richness together in one elegant bite. The beef tartare with fries was classic and fresh, refined without losing its fun. Dessert turned into a full performance. The liquid-nitrogen ice cream came with swirling clouds of cold vapor, dramatic and delicious. The birthday cake arrived crowned with berries and a sparkling candle that lit up the whole table. And just when we thought the night couldn't get any more whimsical, out came the towering blue cotton candy, playful, over-the-top, and impossible not to smile at. Harry's doesn't just serve dinner. It creates an experience, one where the service, the scenery, the atmosphere, and the food all work together to make you feel celebrated. We came to Harry's a couple years back when we visited Cancun and I am celiac and I had a lovely dinner with my partner. On this visit, we were seated at a beautiful table and we ordered drinks. Our waiter, a bald headed young man 30s, refused to check with the kitchen to see if they could accommodate me. I am celiac not vegan. I was told there was nothing I could eat except steak and he proceeded to show us the entire steak selection. Truthfully I was feeling slightly unwell from not eating the entire day. I felt like fish, he said I can give you dry fish no sauce on top. He suggested maybe we just do appetizers. We had a 8 pm dinner reservation, what the hell would I want to order appetizers and call it day? This waiter was chit chatting with his maitre'd and other wait staff and I felt terribly uncomfortable that i was told I couldn't eat anything from the men, we we all know was ridiculous and not true. We finished our drinks and asked for the check. I made a reservation for Porfirios next door bc I could see they had some gluten free options. Harry's used to be accommodating but no longer. We will not come to Harry's again for food. Not only this, the waiter was trying to once again embarrass us by advising us that we could walk to Porfirios, next door to the restaurant from the back patio. We got up and began walking towards the patio and suddenly I realized he was totally making a fool of us, why would we go from the back if we have to check in with the hostess stand in the front of the restaurant? We walked straight out of Harry's from front door. Never again. So disrespectful and such a rude experience. Not only this, Harry's canceled/ removed our open table reservation (even though we fulfilled it and paid for our drinks and still tipped generously), so I cannot even leave a review and send a private message to the restaurant. Pathetic customer service.

The main difference is its prime location--there's plenty of parking, and the restaurant backs right into the Laguna, which gives it a nice scenic backdrop. It had the potential for a relaxed dining experience, but unfortunately, that's where the positives ended. When I arrived, I was the only customer there, and oddly enough, they still weren't ready to open on time. You'd expect faster service with no crowd, but that wasn't the case. I ordered shrimp, which you'd think would be their specialty. Instead, they came out overcooked and rubbery. At that point, I was starving, so I powered through it, but it wasn't enjoyable. The outdoor seating looks inviting at first--right on the water, with a breeze and a view--but don't expect to sip a beer slowly. The sun hits hard, and your drink will warm up quickly. Unless you're drinking fast or don't mind a warm beer, it's not the most comfortable spot to sit and relax. Overall, the location has promise, but the execution misses the mark. With better food and service, it could be a go-to spot. As it stands, I wouldn't recommend it--especially if you're coming for the shrimp or hoping to enjoy a slow drink in the sun.
