I think this company (owner - Joshua Chisom) has failed on more than just one front…read more I hired this company to install a new gutter/downspout on one side of house, and to make repairs and adjustments (including installing a splash guard) at several locations on the existing gutters. Location for repairs/adjustments were pointed out in advance. The gutter installer who came to work, per his statement, has worked in this trade since 2008. When the work was completed he told me not to test the work immediately after since sealant was applied. Next day I discovered the following: -Newly installed splash guard diverted water right over the top of gutter -Leaking at one end cup was not fixed -While fixing one problem at a location that required an adjustment, the gutter installer opened up a gap in the bottom of the corner piece. This spot was leaking now. On the 2nd visit the gutter installer, among other things, replaced the corner piece - the next day showed leakage on both sides of this replaced corner piece. The gutter installer has not come anymore. Now I had a newly created leakage problem that still had to be addressed. This is where this company failed: 1.Attitude - installer, generally speaking, did not care if he fixed my problems or not (whereas, when I pay, I expect someone to fix my problems). For him it was like - I worked on this and that, and now I can leave. On his 2nd visit when I asked "Do you guaranty that there will be no leaking" he said "I'm not ashamed to come to fix if it leaks". He failed to come to fix leaks. To mention, I had a pleasure to be called "dude" by this tradesman in face to face interactions. 2.Quality of work - the new gutter/downspout combo did not have a drop outlet. I believe it's considered a substandard work. The size of the downspout was not the one that was listed on the estimate. Few nails were left in a gutter. A newly installed splash guard that was diverting water over top of gutter had to be re-positioned on the lip of gutter during the 2nd visit. Replaced corner piece leaked on both ends. All in all, quality was not there. 3.Integrity - This company does not care if they perform the work they have contracted. Seems they do not care about the quality of work they give. I filed a complaint with Better Business Bureau, and asked to give me $200 partial refund for the leakage problem that they have created. Owner Joshua Chisom agreed to provide a refund but never actually made a refund. There is no integrity here!

We hired Home Genius to replace our siding and windows. While the quality of the finished work was…read moreok, the overall experience getting to that point was extremely frustrating. Our project began the week of June 8. We were initially told the siding would take about a week to complete and that the windows would be installed in one day once they arrived. Unfortunately, that timeline was never met. Shortly after the siding project started, we were told the crew had run out of materials. From there, the project was delayed multiple times. The windows arrived, and I took time off work for the scheduled installation and then received a call the night before saying the crew wouldn't be coming. We were given several new installation dates, but each one came and went without anyone showing up. Throughout the process, communication was disappointing. We often had to repeatedly call for updates, many calls went unanswered or to voicemail, and we were frequently given conflicting information. It felt like we had to chase someone down just to find out what was happening with our own project. Due to the conflicting information given, they agreed to put siding at the top of the front porch, however they did not. I have holes in the walls in the inside of my home where they put the nails in the siding, when I brought this to their attention, they said there was nothing they could do about it, that that was a common issue. Before I agreed to go with this company I was told they had insurance for any issues they caused but was then told the holes in the walls were something they would not fix. In the end, Home Genius did complete the siding and window installation almost 2 months later. However, the weeks of delays, missed commitments, lack of communication, and the inconvenience of having an unfinished home, made what should have been an exciting home improvement project far more stressful than it needed to be. I would not recommend this company to do any siding or window work based on my experience. Update to previous review I came home this morning to my siding falling off of my home. I have reached out to several people including the project manager, the sales rep, the project managers manager and the 800 number to let them know. I am highly disappointed, it has not been 30 days since the project was complete, and my siding is coming down.

I kept contacting him with questions and he always got back to me really quickly. He gave me the addresses of where the siding I was interested in was on houses where they had completed jobs and I was able to drive around and see what it looked like. Awesome job, good communication, great on the details and resolving any problem they came across. The project manager Jason was awesome, attentive had a great crew under him! Jason kept me posted on their Info@ Build Trend website and by phone and text. My house is so beautiful and I'm very happy with the job they did! TRUGUARD was true to their word!

The crew was very polite (they moved the blueberry trees out of the way), tarped the deck, as well as the yard on the other side of the house. They knocked it out in about 4 hours, blew the driveway clean, and left no trace. I ONLY found 3 nails on the deck. The weather was perfect, and the shingles match the rest of the house. The flashing around the chimney is sooooo much better than the previous job. SERIOUSLY, Had I not watched the crew do the work, I would have never known they were there that day.
