My first visit, I chose the Barnyard Burner Burger special. It came with pulled pork, spicy BBQ sauce, and cheese. But what was amazing about the burger was how soft, fresh, and smoky the hamburger meat was! I hadn't had a burger like this in years! The pulled pork is perfectly tender and smoky! I liked the pork more than the brisket but the brisket is 4 stars on its own. The potato salad has a lightly sweet mustard base to it with some eggs and relish mixed in. I enjoyed the beans more than the potato salad as the beans were in some kind of sweet and smoky conglomeration made in the back with brown sugar as a key ingredient. There are 4 sauces and I usually try to rank sauces, but I couldn't do it with these. They are all worthy on their own merit. The four sauces and a brief description are: Classic - mildly sweet tomato with a little pepper Sweet and Smoky - very sweet with a smoky taste and ketchup base Tangy - part vinegar, part tomato, all tangy Sue Tang - spicy mild to medium BBQ sauce, tomato base The one downside and it's common being a Southerner in the Mid-West is there is usually no sweet tea and if there is, it isn't sweet enough. She was friendly, prompt and very attentive. She kept the refills coming and checked on us frequently. We started with the fried pretzel bites with beer cheese. The pretzel bits were small and lightly covered in salt. The fried process made the outside a little tough but not greasy. The inside was soft. The beer cheese was very smooth and creamy. The sauce had a nice mild beer taste to go along with the mild cheese taste. The wings were what I gave had before. The bone in variety were breaded and fried. This gives the wing a bit more mass to fill you up. The breading doesn't have a greasy taste. What I don't like is that the sauces are poured over the top of the wings. This creates lots of spaces on the wing that don't get flavored by the sauce. On this occasion I ordered the Tso and Garlic Parm sauces. I love the pop of the Say it isn't Tso sauce. It has a traditional Chinese General Tso sauce flavor. The sweet taste with a slow kick is delicious. The garlic Parmesan sauce is a lot like the sauce your would get at BWW's. This sauce is creamy, light with has a slight cheesy taste. No overpowering garlic taste and it is lowest on the spice level.
