Hardee's 1118 Lowe Grout Rd. Iowa, LA Blueberry Biscuits Gone Wrong. On Wednesday 07/03/24 at 7:15 AM, I visited Hardee's to try the Blueberry Biscuit. The restaurant was clean, the order taker was friendly, and she was attempting to provide fast and efficient service, but it was difficult due to the restaurant having only one cash register opened that was being shared by the lobby order taker and the drive thru order taker simultaneously and slowing down the order taking process. I ordered the 2-pack Blueberry Biscuits advertised as warm, fluffy biscuits loaded with blueberry flavor and topped with a drizzle of icing. These biscuits did not measure up to what I was expecting from a presentation and quality standpoint. If you're going to advertise 2 pack biscuits, then package them in the same box and not in separate boxes as if I ordered them individually. I was excited to try these biscuits and hopefully be satisfied and return for more because years ago, Hardee's used to serve cinnamon and raisin biscuits which were fantastic. I was expecting hot and fluffy biscuits, instead these biscuits were small, served cold as if they had been sitting for an extended period of time, flat, and the icing was poured on top of the biscuits. The blueberry flavor came through and the biscuits tasted ok, but they were not great due to the quality and temperature. One of the biscuits was placed in the box upside down, icing side down, completing ruining the biscuit. If these biscuits were served hot / warm and as advertised, they would be fantastic. This Hardee's location is part of a Love's Truck Stop and is open 24 hours a day, including the dining room. It appears to have a full menu as a standalone location. Some of the amenities are shared with Love's, including the restrooms and WiFi. The WiFi is not free, and is only complementary if you have enough points in a program geared towards truck drivers. The parking lot can be crowded as travelers are coming and going. Being a truck stop location means that one of the objectives of this Hardee's location is for patrons to quickly get their food, eat, and get back on the road. I believe they have met their objectives with fast and friendly service. I ordered a quarter pounder Thickburger meal with an additional Double Cheeseburger. My order came out in less than 5 minutes and was what I expected. Self service drinks (they serve Coca Cola products) and a clean dining area. Wish I would've looked at reviews first...The food was HORRIBLE!!! The service was HORRIBLE!! The ambiance/Lobby was filthy... There were flies EVERYWHERE and they don't have the ingredients covered to keep flies from landing on it.. I stood at the register for a good 10 minutes until the cashier finally approached me.. (cashier acted as if I was bothering him by making him do his job) After informing me that they are out of practically everything that comes on a burger I ordered a super star plain... My burger was cold & the fries were cooked in RANCID grease that was as dark as Coca Cola... The smell was horrendous... The lobby was dirty.. Sticky soda splashed all over the drink area, no straws, no napkins, put out... I had to ask a cashier for a lid to my cup then he told me that they were out of lids so I would have to get my drink from the gas station side!!! Well, having forgotten that we had a bad experience over a year ago, we stopped by again. But this time, it was better! Way better. The place is still filthy, but the staff was nice and the food was good! And now, Hardees offers a low-carb/GF burger option where they wrap it in lettuce and forgo the bun! I did that and was pleasantly surprised. I still got the yummy chargrilled burger flavor without all of that bun. The hubby was also once again, satisfied with the juicy and flavorful chicken fingers too! And there sweet tea is delicious, just the way this Southern girl likes it. My order...Frisco thick burger medium with regular fries. I also order a 1/3 burger with meat and bread only and onion rings. Cashier asks if I want cheese? No thank you. Meat and bread. We laugh about that. I get my food... Fries are curly. I send them back, she apologizes. Off I go to the hotel Look at my burger. Cheese on it. I take it back. I get a new one. Store is run by a bunch of morons kids. They were out of containers for their pump catchup dispenser at the beginning of a lunch shift. Ordered a combo meal, dine in. Checked back after 25 minutes, only to find that it is been packed as a to go order and put under the heat for the last 15 minutes. To correct the problem, their answer was to unpack that old food and repackage it as a dine in order for me. I almost went over the counter. The best they could do for me was to start over ultimately. That took forever too, despite the place being empty from the time I walked in.
