Very chipper and nice drive thru person! Good stop on a Florence-Nashville run. Loretto has this and Burger King.

I love The Omelette biscuits. The restaurant looks well-managed. The biscuit was hot! The restaurant was very clean.

On a road trip across Alabama, we stumbled across this old-school burger place in Russellville and…read morestopped for a late lunch. Now, the interior has seen some things, okay? One of the booths has been mangled to oblivion and is unusable. The place was understaffed for the volume and pace of business it had on a Friday, so tables weren't being bussed like they should. But I'm perfectly capable of getting napkins and wiping down condensation from the last guy's Coke, you know? Customers were politely throwing away their own trash, so that was not a problem, IMHO. We ordered indoors (you also have a walk-up outdoor counter option), my husband getting the foot-long chili dog (more on that to come), while my son and I both got a single-patty cheeseburger (his with fries, mine with onion rings). All three of us had enormous fountain drinks (Pepsi products) over crushed ice. The burger patties were what we used to call "slugburgers," preformed patties (Sonic sized, not Krystal or White Castle sized) with light condiments (thank you for not drowning the burgers in mayo, etc.) with chopped onions...Vidalias, if my taste buds were not hallucinating. They were well seasoned, too, with melty American cheese. Noms! The buns were fresh, too, which is always a plus. Boy and I gobbled them down quickly. As for the onion rings, I'm a huge sucker for handmade, and these were just awesome. The batter was light (maybe a beer batter?) and crispy, and the onions were mild. I could have probably made a meal of them alone. Now, my husband is a big Coney fan. So, he was a little disappointed in his hot dog. It didn't taste bad; it just wasn't what he believed it would be. While the bun was a foot-long bun, the dog was actually one and a half normal dogs. Petty? Maybe. But here we are. A bigger disappointment was the "chili." Remember the sloppy joes we got in school? (Sloppy Joe Day was like a holiday when I was a kid.) That meat sauce is what covered the dogs...with cheese sauce like you get on ballpark nachos covering the top. He ate it, but said he's getting the burger next time. His onion rings, however, were fabulous, so all's well. The soft serve was delicious. So, definitely stop for lunch, but if you're feeling snobby...go elsewhere.

There's so much I want to say. I eat there frequently, at least once a week for the past year, and it has always been this way. Why do I keep going? Because there's someone in the family who doesn't eat much but will eat their chicken, so I go for that person. FOOD IS NEVER HOT - never ever has it been hot. YOU DON'T GET MUCH - the tenders are smaller than tenders at other chicken places, and if you get a salad or wrap you will barely have a few bites of chicken. Years ago their salads used to be awesome. Over time the amount has gotten smaller and smaller, and forget thinking you'll have much chicken on it. If you want chicken, you'll need to order chicken on the side. THEY THROW IT TOGETHER - if you get a wrap, be prepared for a skimpy bit of food thrown in the middle with just a little bit of cheese. They never spread it out. See pictures I'm adding of the wrap from last night. THEY ARE SLOW - last night we stood inside and waited 21 minutes for 2 wraps and fries, while we could clearly see in the kitchen three young men who weren't hustling at all, and one was doing nothing and goofing around. Also, there was a manager and 4 people in the front. Really? And we waited 21 minutes for just a handful of cold food? THEY DON'T UNDERSTAND CUSTOMER SERVICE - the people just stand there with a blank face and take your order after you initiate it. Never do they say hello, welcome, hi, glad to have you, what can I get you... NEVER. THE RESTAURANT FEELS LIKE A FREEZER - Take a jacket and wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. I'm not kidding. People come in there and move around trying to find a warmer place or get away from a vent, but they can't. We've learned to dress warmly. So... the food has an average taste, but don't expect a good dining experience.
