Excellent tour. I had this on my things to do list and passed it in the morning. Since my other tour was short I decided to hit this up. I called just before 4 pm and the man said I would make the last tour. I was the only one but how sweet to let me go through. Malory was my guide and she did an excellent job. She was probably surprised at all the notes I was taking. I even had to have her spell some of the words. It is a little scary when you go to the door in the side of a mountain and it is pitch black. You only have to walk a few feet and then you enter another door to the cave. It can get cold and drops do fall on you so wear appropriate clothing or hats. You also have to go down (I think she said 73 steps) and the stairs are narrow. Wear good tennis shoes or boots. Very interesting cavern and this was my first. Interesting fact: Squire Boone is buried in the cavern. Truth and interesting story as to why. There are a lot of things to do but because I came late and spent an hour on the tour all the other shops were closed down. There is a large gravel parking lot, so you park wherever. They have animals you may feed too. This is at least a two-three hour visit, so get there by noon. I visited May 31, 2023. $24 entrance read more

Squire Boone Caverns - Parks Near Me - Corydon, Indiana

An amazing day trip. The staff are amazingly sweet and welcoming. The property was clean and well maintained. I adored the barnyard rescue animals. Pigs, sheep, and goats all were rescue animals. The cabins and gristmill are so peaceful and serene. If you go be sure to look for the cats that call Squire Boone home....Scotty and his buddy are very friendly and love being petted. And of course a trip to the cave is not complete without rock candy which is handmade. read more

The cavern was great! Our tour guide, Christopher, was bad. He thought the history was "too boring" to cover in the tour. He made disparaging remarks about Squire Boone and American history. So it's probably a good thing he didn't cover much history. He also didn't seem to know much about the cave. But he was very interested in looking for baby salamanders in every puddle. FYI, there were none.  We paid for the Park Bundle which included Gem Mining Sluice after the tour. We waited at the spot that said "wait here" while the worker dabbled with the sluice. He saw us because he walked by us several times. After 10 minutes we went back to the office who explained it away by saying "it's his first day". We gave up and left. We stopped by the gristmill and were again disappointed in the staff. The staff was stationed like they were going to do a demonstration or at least an explanation of the mill. Instead, they said "let me know if you have any questions". So we just wandered around and looked stuff up on Google later (no internet at the site). It's such an interesting place and could be a wonderful experience if they train the staff. read more

At 65 and 71 years old, my husband and I went ziplining for the first time and absolutely loved it!!! Frank and Julia were so friendly and fun! We felt extremely safe and well-cared for and we had a blast!!! I would highly recommend this zipline adventure!!! read more

Squire Bonnie caverns is a cool cavern tour located not too far from my hometown of Louisville that is an easy drive to make a day trip and hang out at. I've mainly been here on my daughters class field trips over the years and it may be my favorite place there class takes a field trip. Ten kids and adults have a blast. Whether it's the unique and fun gift shop, the actually cavern tour, the little playground area, the rock mining or even the friendly cats that roam the property. Our area is rich in cave territories so it's always neat to find places that stick our above the Rest give a lasting memory. Squire Boone caverns absolutely delivers in doing that. It was ok! I expected a little bit more for what you gave to pay. The walk / hike is pretty nice.

We enjoyed the grounds and checked out the shops and animals, those that were open. Some of the shops were closed maybe because it was a weekday. Zipline was positively reviewed separately. The cavern tour was okay but there are other cave tours that are better. The tour guide, Lindsey, referred to herself multiple times through the tour which was distracting, in my opinion. I did a quick search afterwards about Boone history because some details didn't seem to fit with what we were told on this tour. You get glimpses of different cave formations which is nice. read more

Visited the caverns today for the first time in many years. The grounds were well kept and all of the workers were polite and kind. Our guide was Charissa. I expected to learn a lot, but I am amazed with her content and all of the facts and details she taught our large group. I can tell she loves her job and excels at it. I accompanied my mom with her co-workers and 2nd grade class on a field trip to Squire Boone Cavern. I hadn't been there since I myself was in elementary school, so I must admit I was little excited to be going back after all these years. I was a bit nervous for my mother to tour the cave since in order to exit you need to climb 74 stairs and she has a bad knee, but more on that later! When we arrived, after meeting an employee to make the payment for the field trip, we split the kiddos into groups to begin our day. We started with candle dipping. The kids got to see a demonstration on how the employee could make hundreds of candles simultaneously and then they got to dip a candle of their own. They were absolutely thrilled to be able to do this fun activity and have a souvenir to take home. We next went to the lye soap demonstration. Because it is such a lengthy process, the obviously couldn't make their own, but it would have been nice for them to be able to use some of the soap or maybe get a sample. No freebies here, but they do sell it very inexpensively (I think $1 a bar). Next we headed to the cave. We were given a headset at the gift shop to be able to hear our guide and we were told it takes about an hour for the cave tour. We had a brisk walk through the forest and the we entered the door to the cave. Being in the cave was a nice reprieve from being outside as it was about 56 degrees inside and much warmer than outside. The formations were beautiful but there are a lot of steps both up and down, so this activity is not ideal for those with mobility issues. I was very proud of my mother, she soldiered on and made it through! The cave exits into the gift shop which I just admit is very moderately priced. I quickly grabbed some rock candy for the whole class then excited because the older lady running the gift shop seemed annoyed that the kids (who were well behaved and had souvenir money) were in the shop. We then ate lunch at the picnic tables. With this being a year round attraction, it would be nice if they had an enclosed pavilion for lunches as it was unseasonably cold that day. We wrapped up our trip with the kids mining for fools gold. They got some cool gems and stones to take home from this stop and we had a bus full of happy campers on our way home! read more

Lots of fun activities, great for family and really good eats, which was a nice unexpected find. Chicken salad is delicious and Bbq was too. There was a weird cornbread corndog with a muffin shape stuffed with chopped wieners, but the taste was good and perfectly fine for kids if you sell them it is a corndog. Tour in cave takes about an hour, you have to descend a spiral wet staircase to go in and to get out. Lots to see and hear about from the guide. Chance to dip candles, mine for gold and just spend some quality time outside walking around. Ask for the mill demo. read more

This wasn't our first trip to Squire Boone Caverns and Zipline Adventures. It's a favorite outing for my grandkids, so we make a point to visit at least once every summer. Amazing caverns -- with waterfalls and a rushing stream that make it unique, IMO. Lots of interesting history as well. The grandkids especially love the rock shop and feeding the goats and pigs in the barnyard. All the animals are rescues, by the way. Really good sandwiches served on fresh-baked bread at Boone's Kitchen. They also offer several choices of fudge and cookies made right there in the sandwich shop. We also went zip lining, which was a great adventure! Guides took good care of us and made the tour a lot of fun. All in all, a terrific day. read more

Can I just start by saying... WOW!!! Took my family of 6 here and we were so happy. We did ziplining we sprung for the 8 lines and bridges. And did the caverns. We visited every gift shop that was open and all walked out with memories to last a lifetime. The scenery. The thrills. The spills. And underground chills were just what I needed after being tucked away for months. It is well worth the price. We went on a weekday and were astonished that it wasnt busier. But boy were we in for a treat. So grateful for the crew and the establishment. Elizabeth out your guide was amazeballs. Tarzan was our zip guide hunky piece of manly man. Me and my family had an amazing time here. We first went to the Boone's mill first and met this nice employee named Floyd. He was very informative, knowledgeable, hospitable, and answered all our questions well. He basically gave us the foundation and information on the property and squire and Daniel, about them, etc. I felt well informed and content with how I knew some history first before the tour guide went into it more. Squire Boone Caverns - Power source - Parks Near Me - Corydon, Indiana

It has taken me a while to write a review of Squire Boone due to the trouble I have had describing the great experience we had when we visited in October. Rather than "kicking words" around I decided to just spill it out and make it "to the point". For many people that are interested in visiting a cavern but do not want to go to the "big" caverns such as Mammoth, Squire is a great starting place. This smaller cavern provides a general sense of what it feels like to walk through caverns and/or various geologic structures throughout a typical cavern. The day we visited there were several Boy Scout troops visiting and it seemed like a great place to teach children about geology and rock formations. During the tour the guide was knowledgeable about the cavern and knew enough to answer questions regarding geology and rock formations. I myself having a geotechnical background, this was refreshing. There is a small pen with goats that I'm sure kids will enjoy. The day we visited it was raining so the goats stayed under shelter and did not venture into the rain. The gift store is what you would normally expect from a gift store. Despite what other reviewers may say, the gift store was as expected and we had no complaints. My wife and I are not originally from the area and we were pleasantly surprised about the ties this cavern has to Daniel Boone and our nations history. Taking the tour was great, and for a small cavern, the cave formations were great. The use of lighting within the water falls and water pools is great and very pleasing to the eye. I took MANY pictures and have added them with this review. Due to the poor lighting conditions in the cave I couldn't find the correct setting on my camera to take the best looking pictures. They're a little grainy but I hope you can get the general idea of how pretty the cave looks. If you're looking for a great place to spend an afternoon and are looking for something "different", try Squire Boone Caverns. read more

I really wish that we had waited to come to Squire Boone Caverns until it was a little warmer. The caves were the only thing open when we went a couple of weeks ago, so I feel like we didn't get the full experience. That being said, the cave is really cool. The guides are really knowledgeable about the history. Squire Boone himself is actually 'buried' in the cave. At the end of the tour you sit near his coffin and the guide tells you the history about him, and how he came to be in the cave. Overall it's a really neat experience. The cave itself is really impressive, and it was a fun way to get my 10 year old interested in Indiana history. read more

We went to both Indiana Caverns and Squire Boone Caverns. If you only go to Indiana Caverns, you'll be happy. But if you go to Squire Boone and make a comparison, you'll be very disappointed in IN Caverns. The differences are big. The guides are better at SB, the formations are more extensive at SB, the overall history is dramatically better at SB, the experience of the full "campus" is much better and historic at SB and SB is a dollar cheaper! This was absolutely one of the best things I've ever done! Was in Louisville for a few days and it was raining today so we were looking for something to do inside. Underground proved to be even better! Nothing but the cavern tour was open since it's still before Memorial Day but the caverns with their rushing, spring water, were absolutely incredible. Our tour guide, Paige, was adorable, knowledgeable and funny. I found myself sitting on the edge of my seat during her story-telling like a little kid! I would have turned right around and gone back through this breathtaking experience immediately! I guess it's a cool thing to see once. We did the zip lines, a couple were long and went decently fast. This is the only place I've ever been that has the rider apply their own brake. I hit several small tree branches and there are two places that you will hit your feet on the ground if you don't tuck your knees. The "adventure bridge" is a rope suspension bridge on the course. Once you get on the guide shakes it. I'm tall, so I hit the cable several times, other people nearly fell off and ate the ropes trying to catch themselves. Just a dumb and careless plan all together. It really took away from the enjoyment of the course and made me question if these are the kind of people I want in charge of my safety. And, who really wants to walk away with rope or cable burns? The owner was riding the course without a helmet on. I guess it is his course and he can do what he wants, but it sets a poor example for some already questionable employees. read more
