From the very first phone call, Chantal was professional, friendly, and incredibly helpful. She responded to my follow-up email promptly and with the same level of care. When I explained my situation, Mike (the owner) personally squeezed me into his already busy schedule for the very next day -- even driving out of his way to my home in Sandy. The travel fee was more than worth it for the quality of service I received. I had a particularly tough biohazard pet stain (not urine, but still a real challenge). I had already tried cleaning it three times myself with a home carpet shampoo vacuum with zero success. Mike assessed the situation right away, recommended the perfect combination of services and products for my specific issue, and completely resolved it. We had two back to back very small bathrooms. We also had a hallway that went all the way through the interior of the house - from the front door to the master bathroom. Lots of wasted space. We asked Michael from Higgins Home Construction to close off the hallway where one of the bathroom doors was. This created space to open up the master bath, allowing a larger and upgraded shower to replace the outdated tiny shower. This also allowed us to put in a utility sink in the laundry room. My husband and I are very happy with the work that Higgins Home Construction did for us. Communication with Michael was easy with prompt replies to questions and requests. His team of plumbers, electrician, drywall, painters and others were all excellent. After each day's work, the work areas were left tidy and ready for the next work day. We ended up hiring this company again when because of water leakage from the outside, the carpet in a downstairs bedroom became water logged. During repair, it was discovered that the wall was just wood, no insulation or drywall. This was taken care of, the outdoor water leakage was repaired, and the carpet did not have to be replaced. We will definitely contract with Higgins Home Construction for future home improvement projects.

They fixed some damage caused by other contractors to the exterior vent cover and piping and I'm not sure our dryer has ever worked so well. Their bid was not the lowest, but during the time spent preparing the bid they really convinced me that they knew what they were doing and would not cut any corners. From what I can tell they did not. I would heartily recommend them for any dryer venting needs you might have and suspect they do as fine a job with HVAC ducting as well.

He came out, assessed the situation, provided good advice and options on how to proceed. His assessment was that prior moisture issues in our crawlspace had lead to a very squeaky sub-floor which required removal of the existing laminate flooring and re-securing the sub-floor with screws. We discussed the pluses and minus of new flooring options and decided to go with a solid hardwood hickory floor. We chose to remove all the baseboards and existing flooring ourselves which saved some money. The installation crew (Frank, Frank Jr., and Martin) spent a week re-securing the subfloor, and installing the new hardwood floor and reinstalling the baseboards. From end to end the whole process was very professionally handled. Communication with Ryan and the office staff was clear, helpful, and informative, and I can't say enough about the install crew. They were there early every day until the job was done and they were meticulous in their craftsmanship. All-in-all a job very well done. We're very happy with the result and NO MORE SQUEAKING FLOORS!

We wish we had -- before we moved in -- because it really needed replacement. There were areas of heavy wear, stains of unknown origin left by the previous owners, and it was really in pretty sorry shape. Finally acknowledging that we really DID need to get new carpet, we started shopping around. We checked out the big box stores. We checked out the other local outlets. And after getting some quotes, we decided on Fjelland Floors. Turns out we did it right. The first thing you notice when you walk into their showroom (if you're lucky) is Walter. He's the Official Shop Dog. He's sweet and well, professional. As in a Professional Shop Dog. He's really sweet! And then we met the humans who run Fjelland Floors. Burke and Ryan were professional and very knowledgeable, making our carpet selection an easy process. We knew when the materials would arrive, when the installation would take place, and communication throughout was good. And I want to add a big 10-Star review for the gentlemen who installed our new carpet. Rich and Richard were on time. They were professional and attentive to all those pesky details. They were clean in their habits, easy to communicate with and a pleasure to have doing the work. They not only installed our new carpet BEAUTIFULLY, they made sure to clean up after themselves.
