I saw a vast difference in my child once he started at soar - he became a much more outgoing child and his grades skyrocketed. My youngest has been at soar since kindergarten and is now in 8th grade, his grades are awesome and he never wants to miss school (he's really hoping for perfect attendance this year). I have referred friends, coworkers and family to soar. My co-worker moved her daughter to soar for her 7th grade year this year and said that she has also seen such a dramatic difference in her daughter's grades as well as her attitude. I 100% recommend SOAR if you're looking for a place for your child to thrive!

There was a time when a kid was bullying another kid and the principal asked the victim if she was okay and the student said yes she was okay and the principal reassured it's okay to bot be okay because bullying is not okay. I don't know what happened after because I was only able to overhear that conversation, but when I didn't hear that it made me feel comfortable to know that the principal is validating our kids feelings at the school! I have had several unpleasant situations with this principal but this was the most upsetting . My son was happy to be at school and she managed to make him cry before school even started. I brought him a chocolate milk from Starbucks which I intended to take from him before class, an honest mistake. She pulled him aside and spoke to him in a manner where he came back out crying. This is unacceptable, no child should feel that way after an encounter with any educator. It's supposed to be a safe zone for kids and a place of comfort. As a father I am very disappointed, I expect more for the leader of this school. I have had several issues with her throughout the years and for the most part I do my best to avoid her however today I felt I needed to speak on it. I am not happy and hope she is not treating other kids this way. She has displayed a lot of arrogance over the years and it is not a professional look. She denied my mother handicap parking which caused an official complaint, the kids have not shared good stories about her over their time there. It's unfortunate because the teachers for the most part have been great. Sucks to have to speak on this when I feel the staff makes great efforts and my kids love being around the kids that go there. Since then, I've toured many school campuses to enroll her, and I can confidently say that VPS offers an exceptional academic program along with outstanding after-school options. One thing that really stood out to me was the weekly presentations my daughter did. I believe they were based on alphabet items, though I may be mistaken. Regardless, these presentations were wonderful for building confidence and public-speaking skills at an early age. The homework reinforced what the children learned in class, and the at-home projects helped them feel proud and capable just like the "big kids." The after-school programs are excellent. My daughter did imagination station, sprout and blossom, violin lessons, and homework club. It provides strong academic structure while also teaching manners, confidence, and responsibility. The staff is wonderful and truly knows every child. The only downside I experienced was when I requested a transcript for my child while applying to a new schools. I was told that transcripts were not available for those grades. I had asked if they could write a letter indicating they don't have transcripts or to create in for me but neither was done. After that, communication seemed to drop off, and it felt as though we were no longer a priority once we had left the school. Overall, I would still recommend VPS without hesitation. The tuition is also very reasonable for an IB and private school. I truly wish we could return to VPS or find another school just like it.

She had additionally invited the children and a few parents to participate (i.e. burning candles and making offerings to the dead). When "called out" about this ritual, the staff and teacher made "life very difficult" to put it mildly. This is simply one of many occurrences. Before enrolling, please do your "homework" and ask around the community. There are other options, as far as Christian schools.

For the second time I missed the Culinary Arts dining. Hopefully I get to experience this ! Campus grounds are kept clean. Cafeteria serves decent menu choice of hot sandwiches snd snacks. I ordered the Philly cheese steak sandwich... I was so famished from the tour that I was able to finish the whole sandwich with a side of fries. I also had the chance to visit the campus store and purchased a college shirt. We visited the Art Gallery and HighTech Center providing student accessibility services. Students got brochures on the field of their interest. We were toured at the automotive and aeronautics shops. They are waiting for you! Yes you.

On my very first day, a male student called me a "fat bitch." The overall culture felt entitled and hypocritical--many people here call themselves "Christians," but their behavior doesn't reflect those values. As someone who values faith deeply, I expected more respect and compassion. Instead, I found students who lacked kindness and basic decency. I believe school should be a place where students can freely share their identity and personal beliefs without fear of ridicule. Unfortunately, that was not my experience at Aquinas. I ultimately left and returned to my home public school, and I would never recommend Aquinas to anyone. In my heart, I do believe that sometimes God places people in difficult environments to remind them to lean on Him. Maybe this school is meant for those who don't know Him and need to seek Him out. But for students who already have faith, Aquinas does not provide anything more. A public school or a different private school would be a much better option. Also, I couldn't help but notice they don't have reviews up on Google, which is concerning.
