We looked up places to eat and Cobourg diner seemed to have a lot of choices ... especially since I was keen on having a healthy salad. Two of us were excited to order liver, bacon, and onions as we rarely see it on menus. Plates arrived with liver, (garlic?) mashed potatoes, one piece of broccoli, one piece of cauliflower, and extremely undercooked carrots that neither of us could eat as they were so hard. There was only a very passing acquantance with onions, with only a couple of visible bits of onion in the gravy on my plate. Both plates were delivered with steak knives. My slices were very thin and extremely tough. When you can barely manage to cut through a thin piece of liver with a steak knife, that's a problem. The woman beside me, who had also ordered liver, thoughly enjoyed hers, and said it was tender and delicious. I will agree with "delicious", as I couldn't fault the flavour. Mine, however, was far from being tender. I had to fight to cut through it, even with the steak knife. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their meal.
