However, returning to this city on vacation as a sentimental ex-Winnipegger, I hung out at this mall for seven hours. The mall person returned. It's still in me. I hadn't been to this mall since 2016, so it was worth the visit. It's a decent mall. It's a medium-sized one in that there's only one floor. Hudson's Bay (it has a Zellers!), London Drugs, Walmart, and Dollarama are your anchor stores. In 2016, I spent a lot of time and did a lot of damage at London Drugs. On this visit to the mall, I didn't visit any of these stores. I wanted to check out the other stores that I had missed. SilverCity, Hudson's Bay, Purdy's Chocolates, and Indigo were stores that I recognized. They have endured the test of time. I like them a lot. Everything else was new. I could picture the old HMV and Branigan's restaurant when you first enter mall entrance 3 and hit the food court. They are gone. The food court is still excellent. I had a late lunch at Koya Japan and my meal was excellent. I visited a bunch of stores that I had never been to at this mall. Miniso. SoftMoc. Sephora. Claire's. They are all cool stores that I enjoyed visiting and making some purchases. There is a lot of parking at this mall. It may get nuts during Boxing Day or week or month. I have never had any issues parking at this mall. This mall has an Earl's restaurant. I last dined there in 2016 and loved it. There's also Sushi Gozen by London Drugs that I'd like to try someday. I recently met up with a couple of friends here. We caught up over some Timmy's drinks and snacks. It was nice and a memorable, happy experience. It's a decent mall. I met up with a couple of friends for an hour. After that, I hung out at this mall some more. I spent a total of seven hours here. Some of that time was spent fetching a late lunch at Koya Japan. The food court at St. Vital Mall is still great. Although most of the vendors have changed since I last was here back in 2011 (yikes!), I felt like teriyaki. Koya Japan felt right. The all-male staff were nice and competent. I got the beef and chicken udon stir fry. I also ordered a bottle of Diet Pepsi. I paid with a credit card. Done! I watched two men make my meal in front of me. One worked on cooking the proteins. The other did the noodles. When the proteins were done, the man cooked the veggies. Then, everything came together. They were generous with the teriyaki sauce. I thanked them both and headed to a available table to hang out. This meal was delicious. The udon noodles were chewy and perfectly stir-fried. This place was generous with the chicken and beef. The morsels were yummy and juicy. The sauce was so good. I loved the veggies, especially the huge sliced mushrooms and bean sprouts. The Diet Pepsi was cold. It complemented my meal nicely. I couldn't tell you when I last hung out at a food court. It was enjoyable. There is free wifi throughout the mall, which allowed me to check my inbox and upload a few Yelp photos. This eatery was a good choice for a later lunch. Food seemed like they were sitting out for a while and the plate was mostly rice. Taste wise, it was very salty. Think over soy sauced. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Spent $14 CAD and it was disappointing. Mostly rice with 2 skimpy pieces of meat. I recommend checking out the other restaurants in the food court before this shop unless you're feeling fast food Korean.

So I've been going to this mall since I was a teen and it's had some major changes over the years…read more It recently had a major renovation of the floor and lighting, better and more open seating areas, and new stores added. Not a huge mall,but big enough to peek interest. The mall itself is what you would expect. Some bigger stores with smaller specialty shops. There's a new Seafood City anchoring one end of the mall, (Taking part of the old Sears) and a Winners and Canadian Tire on the other end. The food court has a variety of shops. All you would expect from a typical mall. All types of cuisine are avail. Japanese, Greek, Thai, Korean, Chinese, Mexican, and American. You name it. Lots of choices. The mall is popular with the mall walkers (People who do their daily walks indoors to avoid the harsh Winnipeg weather). The Dollarama is a favorite store located in the center. Overall a nice mall, they have done a great job with the renovations.

Those mango pieces were organic and delicious, they even top the juice with whipped cream. This juice is so good!! It's worth that 6 something dollars. Spicy Noodle House became my go-to place for yumminess and a bit of home cooking away from home. My favourite meal was the beef brisket in noodles. The beef brisket was tender and incredibly flavourful. It reminded me of how my mom made it, but without the turnips. This place took them out, which I appreciated! The noodles were thick and chewy. The broth was so good. I never had a disaster with the broth getting delivered to me. I also got these huge dumplings that were filled with pork goodness. Sadly, I don't see them on the menu anymore. However, if you get something similar, such as their wontons, you can't go wrong. They are so delicious and comforting. This place is generous with portions. I have also had their mooshi. I've done the pork, beef, and chicken. I am missing the vegetable to complete my mooshi mission. It was all good. It's funny how I only have had mooshi in Winnipeg.
