Holiday weekend, expecting a big crowd apparently because there were several people behind the concession stand. Don't see that very often but it's great for customers! The expedited experience was terrific. Very clean theatre, seats were comfortable and sound system was great. Several theatre screening rooms so quite a few options to chose from. I enjoy this movie theater! The seats are very comfortable, the theaters are clean, and in my opinion Harkins offers some of the best popcorn in town. They frequently run specials with gift card purchases than can help bring costs down. The only downside to this location (and no fault at all to the theater), is that the traffic getting to this shopping center is often terrible and can make one late for their movie- so plan ahead for delay getting to the theater itself. read more

Ugh we continue to have bad experiences here and it's so frustrating cause when I lived in Phoenix it was my favorite theater. The food is consistently not good and/or isn't fresh or hot. Today we saw a 10am show and the cheese for our nachos was literally out of the fridge cold. By the time we opened it to start eating, the previews had started and we don't miss the previews. My popcorn perk popcorn tasted stale and had zero salt. I'm confused about all of this because it's first thing in the morning you would assume it all be fresh and warm. We saw a movie in the cini theater for the first time and were very unimpressed. The sound doesn't seem different from a regular theater. There were only 3 open lines for concessions and they were moving so slow for first thing in the morning, and there were a lot of employees behind the counter. I think the manager was at our register with a girl in the red shirt and despite my pleasant and friendly conversation, they both looked at me like they hated their lives. Not welcoming at all. This is one of Tucson's nicer, newer theaters and with plenty of showtimes and theaters, I've never encountered a sold out or near sold out show. The concession lines can get a bit long, so I wouldn't plan to arrive right at the start time, but this theater is nice, clean and well-staffed. Pro tip: the $7.75 loyalty soda cup pays for itself after the first refill ($2 vs. $5.75 for the same size disposable cup.) read more

They remodeled the theatre and they have have full bar, its pretty nice. There are theaters that have the nice roomy reclining seats. The have also expanded the menus (big burgers - not just the little White Castle burgers). They have a "flavor station" where you can sprinkle different flavoring on your popcorn, a daycare (potty trained to 8 years old - I believe). read more

After having a horrible customer service experience at the cinemark Tucson marketplace I came here to harkins the next day and was treated how every quality theater should treat their customers like. Be chill and respect eve everyone. Associate Phillip was working hard late night and trusted my age (I'm 23) didn't even check my ID and let me choose my seat with my younger sister and we had a great time watching the movie. Snack associates were hard working too and the food was great. Great service all around Don't go to the Karen at market place. They're so strict with their made up rules it's stupid. They sold us tickets to watch a movie that we had to be 18 to watch and they didn't ask our age when they sold us the tickets and when we were going in they wouldn't let us in. The guy who sold us the tickets even gave us the student discount knowing that we were not 18. They should have asked for our age before selling us the tickets. Don't be deceived by the beautiful accommodations. The staff are mostly either uninformed, or just idiots. Been here more than a few times, and things are always more complicated than they should be. Went to see "it's a beautiful day in the neighborhood" last night. There were two people in line in front of me, and it took nearly 10 minutes to process each of them separately. I don't know what the ticket person was doing, other than talking way too much. Finally get fed up and decided to use one of the four kiosks located outside. Two of them had signs saying they were out of order, and I learned by using the other two, they also were not working. I looked back at the line which had now grown to 10 people. Frustrated, I went inside to guest services where I saw two employees talking to two different groups of people about miscellaneous stuff. I was growing impatient by the minute. Finally when I got my turn, I asked for three tickets to the show. I was asked first if I was a member of Harkins, which I stated that I was not, and then I was asked if I ordered the tickets online. I said no again. I explained the slow process outside and that I just wanted to purchase three tickets. The employee then helped me out. What was the big deal in the first place, I am curious? While I was in line getting tickets, my wife bought the refreshments. What an absolute waste that Harkins uses high-quality plastic cups as disposable cups. How about the cheap paper ones that are compostable? Read the response from the business below; why do they need my email and contact information? How with this help? Paid for the tickets with a credit card, no association with my email address. So maybe I get to be on the spam list? Pass. read more

It's comfortable, usually not much to the lines, s decent concession stand. And rarely full of people. They also show The Met sometimes and in some ways is much more interesting to see it this way since the camera can zoom in to really see the emotions and expressions. read more

They had me and my friend and our nieces kicked out because we were "underage" mind you we are 17 and 18.

Over charge for refreshments and drinks have no flavor. After paying $12.75 for a small popcorn and medium drink, the drink had no flavor and was terrible. When I returned it they did not apologize but offered anther drink after show was over. Do not waste your money on drinks. read more

One of the best movie theaters around! The staff is very friendly and helpful. Been to regular showings and midnight showings here, and I tell you what, they do have their stuff together! Very organized and clean. Bathrooms too! There is always someone in there wiping up the sink area and cleaning, and someone is always sweeping popcorn off the floor in the lobby too! I think their staff is very professional. In the movie theaters, the seats are comfortable, and other than a couple of times here and there (during a couple midnight showings when the theater is packed), it would get a little stuffy and warm in the movie theater. I think they fixed this though, cause it has not happened lately. Don't forget to get a loyalty cup (refills for just $1.50) and a loyalty t-shirt (free medium popcorn for the year, or upgrade to large for $1, so you get a free refill), definitely worth the money you put into it! Get the shirt early in the year cause it sells out quick! Enjoy the movies! =) read more

Nice theatre, kept very very cold which I absolutely loved!!!! Gotta kick outta the misters outside! Prices were pretty decent. Was kept clean and orderly. Wasn't too impressed by the lines for concessions. People just standing looking, would've been nice to have the cashiers? call people if they see others standing waiting. Parking was where I took a half star off and another half star for the line for concessions. Very sweet kid though at the concession stand, no negative remarks for him. read more

Went last night with my family. We are new to Tucson and I am on my quest to find the right theater here. We've been to five theaters now and I could tell immediately from the previews that the picture quality at this theater was definitely the best so far. A very crystal clear hi def experience. They use Texas Instruments DLP projection. Sound was excellent. Seats are stadium seating with very comfortable high back rocker chairs. Ample space between the aisles. I highly recommend this clean theater. read more

This is our "go to" movie theater. We find ourselves there at least once or twice a month. The staff has always been friendly and the theatre is always clean. The seats are comfortable and have adequate leg room. Sometimes the sound is a bit much, but others seem to enjoy that. Tonight we went to see Captain America . We got there fairly early to get desirable seats. Unfortunately a family of 4 came in some time later and plopped down right in front of us. Absolutely nothing wrong with that except the 2 kids didn't sit still for 10 minutes. They could not stop talking either. It is so disappointing that the parents didn't care one bit that they were ruining other people's enjoyment of the film. Sad, because the kids are learning to be obvious to others. read more

Nice and clean environment. Nice screen and very good audio--not overly loud as seems to be the trend lately at many theaters. Movie was fairly full but all were respectfully quiet. I don't go to many movies but next time I do I'll return here. There also appeared to be a nursery for kids while parents see a flick, but I'd check on that before making any plans based on this possibility. I do wish that the whole shopping complex was desgned in a more pedestrian-friendly layout but that isn't the fault of Harkins. read more

I really enjoy this theater! It is always clean and the staff is always friendly. the reason I am giving them for star in that V is because they haven't done some of the necessary updates that other theaters have done by updating the seating offering wait staff service excetera. You can go to the Roadhouse theater for $11 with a student discount or 12 bucks, which is all required liners and heated seats and they have wait staff with a chef. The pricing is nearly the same at this theater but it doesn't have all the same perks. I believe they may have one or two theaters with upgraded seats but they really need to go through the entire theater and update it. read more

One of my favorite theaters in Tucson. Best perk is the Play Center that you can check your kid(s) into while you watch your movie. It a easy way to have a movie date without the hassle of finding a baby sitter. They are currently update the place with makes it that much better. There is now a bar inside. Drinks and a movie, Oh yea! I can't wait to see the theater when it is fully completed. The staff is friendly and fast. Definitely recommend this theater over some of the others in Tucson! read more

In the world of super-sized movie theatres, Harkins in South Tucson really is the shining star of theatres. Off I-19, the facility is easy to find and finding your movie won't require a GPS. The staff is really helpful, always lending a hand with movie questions or the location of your flick. The restrooms are fairly clean and were well-stocked with paper towels and hand soap. The concession stands have a wide variety of movie food - popcorn, candy, sodas and plenty of other high-fat munchies. The theatre also was tidy, and the sound was incredible. For a good flick, this 18-screen in the desert is a winner. read more

This theater gets tons of bonus points because I lost my new I-phone here, and a fantastic customer turned it in to guest services, and then equally fantastic employees helped me get it back! (One employee went above and beyond typical duty -- by helping me search high and low and by being so sympathetic and encouraging). Thanks Harkins! In addition to the relief I had after being reunited with my phone, I also had a pleasant movie going experience. After my lost-phone drama, I decided I should get a drink to celebrate that I won't be paying out the wazoo to replace my phone. I got the Harkins' Soda Cup, which allows me to get $1.50 refills throughout the year (the refill cup is certainly a deal, since a small soda is $4.25 and the refill cup costs a total of $5.00). Drink (and phone!) in hand, I headed into the assigned theater. My viewing of the show was quite enjoyable, as the theater itself proved to be clean, with great sound and screen quality. I've been to the movie theater a few times most recently tired today I went and saw gone girl that I was pleasantly surprised because I had absolutely no idea what that movie was about going in, turns out it was well worth it not only was it intriguing it was thrilling; and you kind of didn't know exactly what the movie was going but it all tied together in the end, this movie theater in particular is very nice comfortable stadium seating and the chairs recline nicely so you're comfortable throughout the movie; what I particularly like is that the temperature is nicely climate controlled it's not too cold and it's not too warm I hate going into a movie theater and I'm freezing my entire time. Today I was looking up to see the new Denzel Washington movie although it came on in September I had forgot about it and then I saw it on the boards and I said let me see the equalizer oh I so enjoyed this movie, had myself some nice buttery popcorn and a drink to go along with it that's the only thing I don't like too much about movie theaters is it so expensive but the popcorn calls my name every time I walk in; Great thing at this theater is it's always fresh I've never had any problems with it not being freshly popped. read more

I cant say a bad thing about this theater I drive clear across town to go here because it's worth it. The movies are digital and the rooms feel bigger and they chairs are all rockers so it doesn't matter which row you sit in like other theaters. I also love that the snack bar has many registers so getting your snacks is quick and they also have a loyalty cup that after buying for like 5 bucks is only a dollar to refill for a year, and can't forget that they have delicious popcorn seasonings the nacho cheese is good and if you want more butter you can help yourself because there is a butter machine also. another perk about this place is there a student discount of $2 after 6pm with a student ID. and there is a day care for those who have kids i dont know the times or if there is a fee but if you are interested call and check. oh and one more thing there are alot of close areas to shop and eat for before or even after your movie. read more

This theater had all the makings of a really great evening watching a movie - clean facilities, nice staff members, decently priced concessions, a crisp sharp screen - but the sound system for the Cine 1 screen was broken the day I went, and yet we were still sold tickets. All the loud/ exciting moments were cut out, thus missing some great moments of a movie that I paid $20 to see. Really a disappointment. This definitely would have been a five star experience, but sound really helps make a movie great. read more
