The rooms, albeit small (its New York), were the most contemporary hotel rooms I've seen, complete ith granite bathroom fixtures and an LCD TV on the wall. The views were great, the noise at a minimum despite being in the heart if Midtown. The hotel ammenities were innumerable, and the great location in Midtown made it easy to embark on one of many walks around Manhattan. If you're coming to New York for a visit, you can't beat the Rockefeller Center in price, location or quality.

Friday- Upon arriving at Delz Bed and Breakfast, there was A/C in one room, and no A/C in the other room (there was only a fan in the room without A/C). It was hotter in the room than it was outside in the hot summer. Additionally, we were met with a surprise in our kitchen - It was a mouse We were forced to barricade our rooms with pillows to block the mouse from coming inside. Saturday- There was a lot of food in the fridge for breakfast. However, the food was expired and had not been replenished for two years! And to our disgust, we found expired milk and other foods left all around the kitchen and fridge. And to think it couldn't get any worse, there was an unidentified stain on the kitchen counter. Gross! The bathroom had exposed windows and used toiletries (were we supposed to use those?) The floor was not clean, the bathroom mat looked moldy, and I almost had to physically and forcefully yank the door off its hinges in order to get out of the bathroom (Essentially if you were there by yourself, you could be locked in the bathroom for long periods of time... Neat, huh?). The toilet was clogged at one point, and the host was completely unresponsive to our request. The WiFi in this facility is NONEXISTENT. A password was provided to us, and it still didn't work (the WiFi dropped 5 minutes after we checked in) Also, there was no working light in the kitchen, forcing us to use our phone flashlights to find things in the kitchen. Just as we thought we were getting used to the place, I took a seat on one of the chairs. I immediately saw my legs in the air. Lo and behold, the chair was broken! In fact, 2 out of the 4 chairs found in the room were broken. What fun! Sunday- Sunday was the day in which we had to check out of this facility. There were no clear instructions for checkout, and the host was not responsive to any of our calls. We were forced to leave the keys under the mat outside the place, and the host did not respond to any of our calls until 5 hours later (she responded AFTER we checked out). All in all, this was a poor experience. PLEASE do not trust the reviews you see.

The subway is just four blocks from the location into Manhattan. We were a 20 minute drive to Coney Island. We even chose to stay an additional night. The staff was on point and very helpful. Being a self-contained B&B, there was a variety of food. We will definitely choose Delz again, the next time we come to the city.

Its got everything you need for a comfortable stay. The people who work here though are amazingly accommodating and just the nicest humans ever! At first the hotel manager seemed empathetic and offered to upgrade our room, but only for $300, and then a few minutes later offer a full refund if we could find somewhere else to stay. We did find somewhere else to stay however, that was after we said we would just stay and it was fine, because we struggled to find somewhere for a while (30 minutes) We went in the room, realized none of the outlets worked. There was only two outlets, and to give a clear photo the phone wasn't even plugged in because there was clearly no Outlet that it would be able to access. One of the two outlets is in the middle of the wall so when we plugged in our chargers, they just dangled down, The other, every single plug fell out of the wall immediately. We brought this to the hotel manager's attention to which his accommodation was to charge in the shared kitchen. While in the room, all we did was sit on the corner of the bed(One of the two) And then leave immediately when we realized we couldn't charge anything, when we left we found a new hotel that had last-minute openings, we came back. This is all under the span of like an hour and a half, when we come back, there is a different manager, I informed him of what the prior told us, to which he was pretty argumentative and told us it didn't matter because he didn't know anything about that and he wasn't there. I informed him that the outlet didn't even work, blah blah blah all of the above to which he only offered to upgrade our suite for free this time however, this is after we told him that we already paid for a different at the other hotel. They said it was the last one and we were afraid to have nowhere to stay! Keep in mind we're thinking that we are absolutely getting a refund from this hotel per what we were told, And actually, I just remembered when we first called and told them that the outlet didn't work we asked for just a different room to which he said there were no rooms available. However, later once we were at the desk, he offered us a suite in exchange for staying, I was adamant about, just getting my refund that I was promised because I moved with those actions in mind, he said up and down that he has no control over that and it would be all on Expedia if they want to respond with a refund, and he push me to contact them and ask them for a refund because he does not obtain money from our booking, to get contacted Expedia and they told me the complete opposite that the hotel is actually who decides if I get a refund while there he told us he would leave a note blah blah blah all of these things to honor this refund and then I received an email this morning that they denied it, the hotel . So personally wouldn't advise to stay here. They're all over the place management wise and it seems like a mess. Glad I didn't stay even if I had to be out of all my money, Which I guess I am because it was denied by the same manager that told me I could have a refund refund!! :)

Just a few minutes away by subway to Downtown, West Village, and all the other touristy places while you get to enjoy an enormous room with a view of actual live trees! The bed is terrific and the neighborhood is full of delightful restaurants and bars like Enoteca Harlem and Angel of Harlem. Rene is a delightful host and you'll get the experience of a lifetime staying in a piece of history! We stayed on the 3rd floor which I recommend, it is quiet and worth the walk up the stairs.

There was major construction work being done next door but this was explained to us when we made the reservation and work stopped early enough in the afternoon to be an issue. Our room was spacious and quiet with antiques and a beautiful 4 poster bed. There were trees outside of our large windows and jazz playing on the radio. Although we knew that there was only one bathroom to be shared on our floor when we made our reservations, there was no problem with availability and we had a sink in our room. The shower was antique so water pressure was as strong as expected for fixtures that old. The only issue we had was the smell and scratchiness of the towels and wash cloths. It was almost as if they hadn't been washed between guests. The soaps seemed old and were pretty used up.

It is convenient to several subway stations. Duane Reade is right on the corner and a deli/market too. The view of the Statue of Liberty and the Hudson River are good. The staff is very friendly and helpful. John is very pleasant to work with and followed up to check if everything was OK during our stay. We stayed here for 10 nights and would highly recommend this apartment.

The apartment is everything you need. Clean, comfortable, and great views of the harbor. It seems like there are several apartments where people come and go, but during our two week stay the floor was quiet. Some street noise, but then again you aren't going to Mayberry! John has equipped the place well with flatware, dishes, wine glasses, the works. The last time my wife and I stayed in Manhattan, we rented an apartment on the upper east side, which has more residential and quiet but it was hard to get anywhere. Three subway lines come together within two blocks of your back door. They will take you anywhere on the island and beyond. I plan on staying there again.
