I had a short text exchange with Harley to set up a consultation, as I have intricate skin due to a genetic condition, I wanted to make sure the person potentially applying chemicals and needles to my skin knew what they were doing. His response was ableist. He dismissed specific concerns about Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) skin, stating, "Nobody has experience with that dear." This minimized the challenges associated with EDS, implying that the skin condition is not a valid consideration. This guy is a miracle worker! So i came in to see if they could remove birthmarks and the remnants of deep bruises (slight darkish spots) In various areas. I found Harley online after doing hours of research, and being brand new to Portland, I didn't know what to expect. The appointment process was simple and quick via text, and he even threw out some options for me before my appt just to give me an idea of what he was thinking! His texts were nice and to the point- exactly what I wanted. He booked me as his last client at 7:30Pm on a Saturday. Now this is a man who truly cares about his practice; I don't know many people who will schedule appointments during that time. Harley was immediately polite, upbeat, and so friendly. He is one of those people who has an infectious personality in the way that he speaks, and he is absolutely hilarious! We laughed and chatted throughout my visit. I was given the most extensive, thorough run down of all my treatment options- there was absolutely no intent to try to sell me the most expensive option. He is perfectly honest about what will give the best results, and he custom tailors that for each guest. I told him what I was looking to get, and we came up with a plan that would fit best right now with my social calendar in mind. I probably asked over 100 questions, and he happily answered every single one. Beyond that, he truly wanted to make sure I understood every detail and he showed me photos and such to put my mind at ease. He is the easiest person to talk to, and he has the perfect balance of professionalism mixed with friendliness- he truly wants to get to know his guests inside and out. The part that really blew me away was the amount of raw knowledge he has! He knows every detail about every product, peel, lotion, ingredient, and the list goes on. He was so engaging and intelligent that I even told him that his ability to explain the science of his techniques was incredibly impressive. His devotion to skin care is undeniably authentic. Being a perfectionist myself, Harley was a great match for me! He explained everything he was doing during my Jessner Peel and he ensured I was comfortable. He makes his own hours and could easily accommodate my request for an evening appointment. He is so professional and personable and knows EVERYTHING about skin. I recently received what people call "The Vampire Facial" which is formally known as Microdermabrasion Facial and I absolutely loved the outcome. There was hardly any downtime as you are able to use coverage if needed the next day. My skin felt tight and pores less visible which is what I wanted to treat. I started going to Harley a little over a year ago. I found him through yelp and booked a microneedling because another person said he made them laugh at the height of a peel. I had hormonal acne in the lower part of my face in the chin area. He started with microneedling monthly and then after the surface was all smooth and even we worked on the brown spots with chemical peels. Every single appointment I have found improvement and we have laughed so hard even through any discomfort that is the case with these treatments. Harley is a perfectionist and I wouldn't want to go to anyone who isn't. Harley end points chemical peels better than anyone out there, you will peel, you will get a result. I am so grateful I went to Harley, he brings aesthetics and holistic healing in one. Like seriously. I have battled with Yeast and acne combo skin for about 15 years, doing so many different treatments. I recently had a major flare up. And it was getting worse and worse. In the last 4 years, I have had 7 hospitalizations for skin cancer surgeries on my nose and head, plus reconstruction and skin grafts.
