Their IPA is top notch, with a great, bright hoppy feel, and their amber was a great balance of a bit of sweetness and a bit of hoppy bitterness. I also had a taste of their Double IPA, which was excellent, but a bit high on the ABV for me that night! The rest of their menu looks great, too -- a lot of solid, classic styles, with a focus on really solid traditional brewing. I'm from Austin, which has a brewery on every street corner, and Oil Horse would be a strong contender here. The location itself is also phenomenal -- a beautiful corner shopfront with windows all around in an historic building, with a great interior and a stage for a band. The place was packed while an acoustic duo was playing and the vibe was great, and Michael behind the bar was a lot of fun to chat with and he was amazing at working the room, making sure everyone was happy and getting to know all his customers. I've known this storefront for years as it transitioned from one short-lived thing to another, but I've always thought something like Oil Horse should find a home here, and now they have. Longview has long deserved a good microbrewery, and Oil Horse has filled that niche with aplomb.

It got so hard so fast and it was not standard cheese. When you went to scoop your chip, it kept cracking and was not flavorful. Each taco was about $5 (pricy end for the size of taco), but definitely worth it. Will definitely come back again.

There's not really anything in Tyler, and we always have drive out a bit to find a liquor store. Let me just say, this place is the BEST I've visited out in East Texas so far! If it wasn't an hour away from home, though... argh! Not the point though... this place had everything we were looking for, even grabbed some Texas bottle holders, with some tasty spirits for a later session with friends.
