Very nice people that own this. Locals are very inviting to talk to but the overall vibe is "quite". There is a pizza place on adjacent corner to grab a to go pizza. Only recommendation is for "life" to be brought into bar. The beers were good, staff/owner very nice, locals for out of town peeps very nice but I felt like we were in a quiet zone or library. The service is exceptional. 1 worker in a moderate Wednesday and she did amazing. Took care of everyone to the 10th degree and was genuinely enjoying herself. I watched her patiently assist several guests and let them try numerous things and figure out what they wanted. Truly great customer service and refreshing to see. Oil Horse is a true gift to Longview and a real gem in its own right. On a visit to Longview from out of town I stopped by one night after having tried their 1877 Irish Red at another restaurant, and was not disappointed. Their IPA is top notch, with a great, bright hoppy feel, and their amber was a great balance of a bit of sweetness and a bit of hoppy bitterness. I also had a taste of their Double IPA, which was excellent, but a bit high on the ABV for me that night! The rest of their menu looks great, too -- a lot of solid, classic styles, with a focus on really solid traditional brewing. I'm from Austin, which has a brewery on every street corner, and Oil Horse would be a strong contender here. The location itself is also phenomenal -- a beautiful corner shopfront with windows all around in an historic building, with a great interior and a stage for a band. The place was packed while an acoustic duo was playing and the vibe was great, and Michael behind the bar was a lot of fun to chat with and he was amazing at working the room, making sure everyone was happy and getting to know all his customers. I've known this storefront for years as it transitioned from one short-lived thing to another, but I've always thought something like Oil Horse should find a home here, and now they have. Longview has long deserved a good microbrewery, and Oil Horse has filled that niche with aplomb. read more

So, this place has amazing brews and a really friendly staff. I had the flight of five beers (everything on the left side in the pic), and I would put them up against any offerings from any of the more well-known breweries in DFW. Lots of tables, good music, and the place across the street (Silver Grizzly Espresso) will fill your growler for you because they carry a few of the Oil Horse brews. Fantastic local brewery in Longview! We have been in dire need of a fun place to meet up, have happy hour or game nights. They offer so many fun activities for the community, are family friendly and are so knowledgeable about their brews. Highly recommend coming here with group of friends! Environment: So chill and eccentric. There are couches, comfy chairs, wooden chairs, long tables and high tables. Cute and fun set up that doesn't make it too uniform. They just recently changed their days to be open from Tuesday-Saturday. Tuesday nights are game nights where they have fun board games and you can bring your own, on Thursday's they partner with Geeks Who Drink for trivia night. It's PACKED! So come early and get ready for some hard trivia. There's no food (they sell granola) but on busier nights they have food trucks set up outside. Beer: so many great options! I stick with the Lavender beer which is fantastic and a lighter beer. I can do anything that super hoppy (just not my style) so this fits me well. There are plenty of options to choose from so you can have a fun night full of tasting unique and different beers. Parking: It's in the downtown Longview area, so there's plenty of parking. Oil Horse Brewing Co is an wonderful brewery where the people are as excellent as the beer. We found this establishment because it was listed as being pet-friendly. The atmosphere was modern but simple, with attentive and knowledgeable staff. The owner brought a flight of beer to our table for a very reasonable charge and went through each beer with us. We enjoyed ourselves so much we returned the next afternoon and played some of the board and card games they have available for customers. We were in Longview on a Thursday night and stopped by Oil House Brewing company. They were having trivia and the place was full. This is a large place in a part of town that is being redeveloped. We found parking on the street and enjoyed visiting with some of the locals that were finishing up trivia. The waitresses were very helpful and made the visit very enjoyable. A good stop! read more
