    fried onion rings and dip

This was my first time here. We went after the lunch rush, and were told to seat ourselves. The waitress that we had was friendly and was also bartending. It seems like alot of the locals come here because many people came in to order a drink and chat a minute. Their was a corn hole game going on, that I think was sponsored by the restaurant, so most of the traffic while we were there was for appetizers and drinks that were carried outside. We ordered the pickle chips (fried), for an appetizer. I was really happy that they were chips and not spears. They were done perfectly and i though the portion size was good for an appetizer. I ordered the shepherds pie. My husband decided on the chicken and chips. I thought the shepherds pie was really good. The flavor was really good, and the layers of corn, hamburger, and potato were perfectl seasoned. The portion was pretty big and I honestly thought it would be to much; but we were really hungry and it was so good that I actually ate every last bit. I even stole a couple of my husbands fries! I really enjoyed our lunch here and would love to come back and try it again sometime.

Nice hole in the wall bar with great bartenders and local yokels. Got a nice cold one before hitting the road.

Service has really improved since my last visit!

This business is in the same location where the Depot Street tavern was.. They are trying to have an Irish pub.. When my friend and I walked in, we were greeted by the owner that was drinking at the bar (bad sign #1). They really have not changed anything other than some green paint.. The menu seemed like your average pub fair.. We were having a couple of drinks and doing a takeout order for the family.. The waitress came over to the table fairly quick to take our drink order.. When she brought our beers back, there was something black floating in mine, so I asked her to get me another.. Which she did without question.. She checked out the new beer at the bar before bringing it to the table (I made a point of watching), so I assumed all was ok with it.. Well about half way through drinking it, there was more black crud in it.. I didn't bother returning it as I drank about half of it.. I just ordered a different beer.. that one was fine so I assume it was something in the tap handle or lines.. What we ordered a few things to sample a variety for us all to share; Rueben Sandwich with sweet potato fries. - the fries seemed like they were store bought frozen, and dumped in the fryer. Chicken wings - These were ok, but seemed more like what I would expect to get at a Chinese restaurant. Shepard's pie - My stepson said this was very good, I didn't try it though. Poutine - While I appreciate they were trying to put an Irish twist on a french classic, they failed miserably.. I don't think they even put any gravy on the fries. Chicken tenders - The best part of the meal.. Absolutely perfect seasoning, and not over cooked. Im only giving them 2 out of 5 stars because they should have been a lot better for service, and the food was barely mediocre.. Another complaint I have, is by the time we were leaving the bar was getting really busy (as I'd expect any new bar to be), but the owner was still occupying a bar stool drinking when patrons were looking for a place to sit.. If things do not change, I have little hope they will survive.. I sincerely hope however they do. There is a lot of promise for the theme and location, they just need to work the bugs out..

The host quoted a really long wait time but we actually got seated an hour earlier than what was estimated - score! While we were waiting I got to try one of the alcoholic hot chocolates at the bar that warmed my soul. We got seated in a separate main dining area away from the bar. Our server was very friendly and efficient even on a super busy night like the one we came on. Once our food came we all agreed - best Irish pub food we've ever had! The chicken wings were super crispy as well as the fish and chips. I normally don't care for corned beef and cabbage, but it tasted better here than where ever I've had it in the past and the shepherd's pie filling was juicy with a lot of flavor. The perfect pours of Guinness and live music were the icing on top. Highly recommend this place if you're hanging around the Ludlow area!

Honestly, my favorite part of the meal was the fries, which says a lot.

Third time I stopped in I had dinner. The bartenders and wait staff dress in 20's attire and the place has that prohibition feel to it. They make high-end cocktails but I usually stick with a gin and tonic. The menu is limited but the meal portion was generous. I had the chicken fried chicken. It was a huge piece of breaded chicken over mashed potatoes and asparagus topped with a traditional white gravy. Very tasty. We've added this establishment to our rotation when we visit Keene.

Still we were seated nearly right away at a table in the middle of the restaurant about 5 steps from the bar. Over 25 minutes later we were still waiting to be acknowledged at all. No water, no drinks, no app order - nada. Suffice to say we had to talk to the hostess to find out that there was "some confusion" over who was assigned to the table. To make a long evening story shorter we waited a lot over the course of our nearly 2 hour experience. It's clear there a shortage of organization at multiple levels. We got comped 2 beer without asking. Food was serviceable- both apps and entrees- but nothing spectacular. Stew could have been way better. Would we go again? Maybe but honestly there's a quite a number of locally owned restaurants with superior service and food to choose from in out city.

Upon arrival (be warned, gps will take you weird way through back lots, bit you will get there) was impressed by the beautiful historical structure it is housed in. Theres a lovely outdoor eating area, and plenty of indoor dining in various types of rooms, and a bar area. We opted for indoor dining, was seated in the main dining area. Its a beautiful space with restored wood work and craft beer decor. They brew their own beer. I had the Bird NEIPA, probably the smoothest IPA i have ever tasted. Loved it. Apps: OUTSTANDING! the spinach artichoke dip I guarantee is better than any you have ever had, anywhere. The bagel chips with everything seasoning compliments the dip perfectly. We also had the sweet potato corn jalapeño soup. Creamy, flavorful with the perfect spicy finish. Dinner: Took forever to get to us. Almost an hour from when we ordered. At 45 minutes our server said he dropped one of our meals, so he asked kitchen to make 2 new ones..so one wasn't just sitting under heat lamp. Very much appreciated, but even still..it should not have taken that long. My meal was ok. Peach BBQ pulled chicken sandwich, there wasn't much chicken. The bun was barely toasted, and not a broiche as advertised. Just a regular burger bun. So i couldnt hold the sandwich up without it drooping. I ate with fork, it was fine. Just a bit disappointed. The NY Strip however, was melt in your mouth good, the demi glaze sauce was amazing too. Would definitely come back here if ever in area again. It was that good, even with the bad timing. So many other menu items i would love to try
