Cute little place in the heart of Warner. Service is fantastic, food is terrific, and the craft beers are hand picked by the owner on a rotating basis. They have nightly specials, an egg roll of the day, and craft cocktails that change depending on the season, plus a craft cocktail each day. Stopped into The Local for a quick bite while traveling through NH. The staff was super friendly and the space had a great vibe. Service was quick and the food was great. We had the Death by Garlic burger & the Mac Smash burger. Our waitress said that the Mac Smash was "a Big Mac if the burger was real"....and she was spot on! Highly recommend!! read more

My sister and I have had lunch here the past 3 years when we go and visit the Lavender Farm up the road. Today I had the special smash burger with bacon jam and French fries and it was amazing and my sister had the pulled pork grilled cheese with onion rings ... so delicious and generous portions and good prices. What a quaint and inviting place! I worked nearby for years and never went. Now that I'm working away, I'd come to visit friends and they're regulars here. Now I see why. The ambiance is fantastic - usually a live performer on Thursday night. The staff is friendly and lots of fun. The food? Well, if you like a REAL Reuben, come here. Really nice local joint where service is very friendly, they have cool specials, and there's often events and live music. Their sandwiches and burgers seem to all be pretty good, but the stand out for me has been the Death by Garlic Smash burger. It looks like a kinda minimal burger, but it comes together so well -- the garlic aioli is so fragrant and perfectly brings together the bacon and beef. So good. Their fries are great and perfectly crispy, but coleslaw is a bit disappointingly plain. Also heads up some areas of the restaurant can get a bit chilly in the winter. read more

Kielbasa and cabbage soup had a bit of a heat to it and very good flavor with no fillers like beans or potatoes. The slightly wicked burger was spot on with crunchy pickles, tangy sauce, and good sized burger patty. Fries are good, but not the highlight. I've always wanted to go to Warner N.H. to see where some of my ancestors lived over that way. I found The Local on the web and my husband and I decided to have lunch there. We got seated by the window in the bar area and were able to see the beautiful day outside. Amanda came over right away and told us about the specials. They had a lobster roll with fries, coleslaw or steamed broccoli. We got one with French fries and one with coleslaw. We would have never thought of having lobster out that way as we live over towards the sea coast and have plenty of fish places there for lobster. Lobster sounded good and we decided to give it a try. The lobster roll was one of the best I've had, even better than the famous place up the road from where we live. We were very happy about having lunch there and look forward to going back again to try something else they serve. read more

My husband and I are frequent visitors to the Local, but today's experience was incredible. I had not planned to stop in for lunch, but my two young sons and I were having a bit of a rough day. Well, it must have been some kind of holiday magic that drew us in because we had the best time. From my six year old: "You really turned our day around and made us smile." The food is impeccable, the service and drinks and everything else are amazing, but the people make this place a notch above the rest. We stopped in over Labor Day weekend to have lunch. The reason we stopped is because they claimed to have vegetarian and vegan options. While there is a veggie burger on the menu, I didn't see any vegan salads that would work for a meal (no protein, though maybe you can put a veggie burger on top of one). Good thing I am a pescatarian. I went with the garden salad with ahi tuna. This was a generic, basic salad with two hunks of tuna on top. Not at all exciting. My husband had one of their specials: a smashburger where the burger was cooked in duck fat. He also had their special chicken soup. He left happy. Me, not so much. The service was good. That said, the place has a great lunch/dinner menu with reasonable prices. I got the burger with a salad rather than fries. It was 1/2 pound and EXCELLENT. my got the club on gluten-free bread. Oh yummm the beers.... My beer selection included delightful Great North and Northwoods IPAs, hoppy, full, each with its own amazing taste. Then there were two delicious spring roll plates, their Vegetarian Egg Rolls with House Made Fresh Vegetable Egg Rolls Served with a Thai Chili Sauce, and a meat-based Asian rolls. Each one better than the next. After two weeks of solid ski visitors and wrecking my kitchen, it came time to go out to eat and this was definitely a great opportunity. The staff was superb. The food, excellent. The sauces, with just enough kick. With as many visitors as we had, I had more meat-based dinners in two weeks than I've had in the last six months. So I decided for the California Veggie Patty, a delightful Southwest Veggie Patty with House Made Guacamole & Swiss Cheese. Double yum. The mail carrier that stopped at the Dalton covered bridge to tell us directions to the Waterloo bridge told us about The Local. Yelp concurred. Great menu but I wasn't hungry enough for a 1/2 pound. I got the corned beef train wreck -basically a Rueben with slaw. Also Clam chowder with bacon. Fantastic! My companion got chicken tenders- crisp breading & quality breast meat. The Local in Warner had their soft opening last week, which is owned by two "local" couples. Located in the former Clovis Moon Cafe space, the interior was nicely redone which has a casual and clean open dining room with table seating and a full bar (with high chair seating) and 2 flatscreen TVs. There is a takeout counter is in the back of the dining room near the kitchen. The walls are decorated with large framed black & white photos of Historic Warner, now that's very local! As for the food, the menu is still evolving which includes sandwiches, salads, homemade chili (beef or vegetarian), homemade corn bread, all beef hot dogs, frittatas (gluten-free) and several homemade comfort dishes (mac & cheese, pulled pork, cottage pie, shepard's pie, pesto pasta, chicken enchilada pie). A few desserts are available including cookies, brownies and ice cream sundaes. A kids menu (any age!) is also served here too, The prices here seem fair, most entrees priced $7-$11. I stopped in here for dinner recently on a typical weeknight. I started out with a bowl of Beef Chili ($5) served with homemade corn bread. The chili was very good and hearty (mild spicy flavor), which was thick with a tomato base with generous amounts of ground meat and beans. The homemade corn bread had a light soft cake texture was not too sweet with kernels of corn in the bread. For dinner, I ordered the Homemade Macaroni & Cheese and Pulled Pork ($11) served on a plate with corn bread. The white mac and cheese had firm cavatappi pasta elbows and very creamy and very rich dense cheese sauce. The pulled pork had a smoky sweet taste, which was tender and chewy too, slightly on the dry side. The service was friendly and very prompt here. The food came out quickly after ordering, chili first, then the mac & cheese dish shortly after. I felt full and passed on the offer for a dessert. I would definitely return to The Local in Warner so I can try out the Shepard's Pie! read more

I'm a regular there, and although I've given you some slack in the past for less than fresh lettuce, and a not quite up to par meal, tonight's meal was inexcusable. The fries were 1.) 1/3 of the normal serving and 2.) clearly re-warmed from either lunch today or yesterday. Lettuce, yet again, not fresh. Burger rubbery and over-cooked for the M that I ordered. Mushy tomato. I don't care how busy or not you are on a holiday weekend. If you are charging me full price for a meal, I deserve your A-game-- not your cost managing, profit saving left-overs from other people's meals. You should be ashamed. Sometimes I'd stumble upon a place that brings a warm and cozy feeling to the otherwise dark and cold New England February. The Local is without a doubt one of those places. I chose the Local on a late night eagerly seeking a place to eat. Craving a burger, the choice was between guaranteed speed, aka McDonald's, or this unknown local joint. Having just had McDonald's the weekend before on a separate road trip, I decided to take a chance on the Local hoping for no regrets and it wouldn't delay our trip too much. So glad we did. The place felt welcoming immediately after we walked in. We sat at the bar and the bartender was probably one of the most attentive and efficient individuals I have ever seen. Mind you, he seemed to have the eyes of a hawk and timely noticed any needs whether it's drink orders/refill, food orders, food servings, plates clearing, and tab delivering. There was never a want of anything from us. We ordered a local burger with bacon and a California burger (Swiss cheese and guacamole). The hype was true and the burgers were amazing. The meat tasted incredibly fresh (could there a farm nearby?) and the portion was more than comparable to the jumbo big Mac. It was juicy and cooked at a perfect medium. I'm not the biggest burger lover but even I couldn't help rave about my burger. Apart from the main dish, we also had the garden salad with homemade mustard, fries, and a delicious and doubled the normal city size cornbread. Everything was superb. For drinks, there was a good selection of local brews on the tap. I was more than happy with the result of pairing my red ale with the burger. On a bonus note, there was also live music. It was very relaxing after a stressful day/drive to be able to sit at the bar listening to live music. The setting also had character - with numerous older photographies on the wall. We came here on a Wednesday night, there was a decent amount of people, but not super busy. We started with the special egg rolls of the day, they were like a Reuben in an egg roll. With thousand island dipping sauce. So delicious! Then I got the wings, of course, because it was Wing Wednesday. I got the Thai chili sauce and I loved them, it was a good portion for one as a meal. My husband and son got burgers, they had not one complaint, which is uncommon, so that's a win! The drinks were made well and they have a great beer selection. I'm from out of town but often drive through the area en route to Vermont from Manchester Airport. This was the first time I decided to stop and grab lunch along the way and found The Local from yelp reviews. Oh. My. God. This place is good. I got a simple club sandwich which was delicious with amazing fries and their home made sweet and spicy ketchup (worth the visit alone). My boyfriend got the Pig Pen which was amazing as well. Needed a spot for a late night bite to eat on my drive home to VT. Yelp pointed me here, it was just before closing so i parked expecting to he turned away like you would at most small town places right before close but Bill had no problem with it. Not only did i get served just before closing but so did those who arrived after me. Was a very pleasant surprise. Had the bacon blue burger which was great, only downside is the use of blue cheese dressing instead of actual blue cheese. Still way better than i would expect from a small town joint.
