I loved Harlow's Sugar House. It was my first maple creemee experience and I'm obsessed. Maple creemees are maple-flavored soft serve. I love maple flavor and I love soft serve so this is a match made in heaven. I have nothing to compare to so I thought these were great. And they had the creemees available in April, which I understand is not common. Also, I loved all the maple items available for sale and while I didn't get to indulge this time, next visit I'll be doing a maple syrup tasting. There are also Vermont themed items to buy. Service was great. The staff was so kind to our family, which I appreciate. I'm looking forward to returning.

We stopped in here on our summer road trip in July 2024. We loved taste testing the varieties of all natural maple syrup and the maple ice cream. We bought some dark amber maple syrup to bring back home to Florida and now I am ordering more!

Outside the entrance and next to the acres of maple trees.

This was an amazing stop on our short visit to Putney. We were visiting Putney for our daughter's graduation. The friendly person at the counter, took her time to let us taste and explain the variety of flavors and how it's processed. She explained the seasonal variations and how the sap is acquired. A quaint spot with various sizes of the maple you desire. Excellent space and worth the time to visit. There is also a gift shop. AND THEY SHIP!! Game changer. I'll definitely buy more.

EVERY TIME I AM IN THE AREA I MUST STOP HERE! GALLONS OF MAPLE SYRUP AND MAPLE BARS GALORE! And yes, all CAPS, it's that serious. The maple syrup is the best. Put it on pancakes, waffles, french toast, or loved ones. Makes everything better. If you're anywhere nearby, you must come this way and sample the difference between the different maple syrups and find which fits your taste palate.

The best customer service. We called them for more syrup and they immediately shipped us a half gallon to Florida.

I grew up with their maple syrup and have never been able to use anything else besides the "real thing" since.

There are places that make you feel as though you've stepped into another era, and Hidden Springs…read moreMaple is one of them. Tucked away about an hour north of Hadley, Massachusetts, the drive alone is worth making. On this visit, the sun was shining, the temperature never climbed above 80 degrees, and the winding country roads were perfect with the sunroof open. By the time I arrived, it already felt like I'd left the rush of everyday life behind. I've always been fascinated by how real maple syrup is made. The kind that comes from the sap of maple trees rather than the artificially flavored syrups so many of us grew up with. While I didn't get to see the sugaring process itself, Hidden Springs Maple serves as the retail home for the family operation. Inside, the rustic barn-style shop is wonderfully nostalgic, with weathered wood, shelves lined with glass bottles and jars, and the unmistakable feeling of an old-fashioned country store. It feels less like a gift shop and more like a place where New England traditions have been carefully preserved. The young man behind the counter patiently entertained every one of my tourist-style questions, answering each with genuine enthusiasm and an obvious pride in the craft. Before making a purchase, I was invited to sample three grades of syrup--Amber Rich, Dark, and Very Dark (Robust)--a thoughtful touch that lets visitors appreciate how the flavors deepen from one variety to the next. Amber Rich was my favorite, and I happily left with a jug, along with maple cream, locally produced honey, smoked maple syrup, and a gift box of regional jams. Now comes the only real challenge: figuring out how to pack the maple jug and those glass jars for the trip home without breaking a single one. It's a small price to pay for bringing home a taste of a place that feels wonderfully timeless.
