We visited Sprague & Son Sugarhouse on a recent trip to Southern Vermont and we can't wait to go back. We were driving home from a family gathering and the kids needed a snack. I saw the sign for ice cream so we pulled into the parking lot. The owner happened to be in the shop when we arrived and we got an impromptu Maple Syrup tasting of the highest quality. We learned about how different temperatures yield different results and what the different colored maple syrups look and taste like. We bought fresh eggs, baked goods, and last but definitely not least we ate some maple soft serve ice cream. It was delicious and I wish I could have some shipped home to Massachusetts. I hope to visit again during the sugaring season (usually March). Highly recommended! read more

The maple soft serve ice cream with maple crunchies on top was absolutely incredible on a hot July day. This little old sugar house has so much charm and character. I'm so happy we stopped here on our way home from camping. We also picked up some maple covered pecans that are very addicting. Definitely recommend stopping here for a treat read more
