As a shopper of twenty five plus years I'm completely done with Harmon's and their constantly raising prices.i went to buy coffee thanksgiving eve and was flord of the price only a few days prior it was 5 dollars cheaper I refuse to pay that price I went to Walmart and got the vary same product for 5 dollars less as it should be I believe it's called price gouging. read more

Stopped by real quick about 11 am or so because I was craving a donut. Had to grab some for my husband too, but it's easy to remember because we like the same maple bars. The store was pretty clean from what I could tell. Went to the bakery area and the donuts are not self serve which was interesting, but probably for the best in these covid times. A nice lady helped me, it's difficult to hear and communicate efficiently with masks and stuff, but I got my donuts and headed for check out. Used self checkout again and it was easy and smooth. $1 per donut. To my dismay when I got home and was about to eat my donut, the way they were bagged, a bunch of frosting stuffed off. I wish they had given me a box like other places. So that was a real bummer, but the donuts were enjoyable even missing some of the frosting. They tasted fresh and they were quite light. They are kind of unique from other grocery store donuts as they are glazed and then the frosting flavor of choice is on top. Which adds to it I think. Anyway, I'll be back for donuts soon enough, but remember if you get more than two, consider asking for a box! read more

Oh hey, Harmons. I see you. I was in the neighborhood for one of those Saturdays where you go to a friend's car wash and then meet up later for brunch, but in the in between time I needed to grab some stuff. Harmons was there for me. I wasn't sure if this would be any different from the one near my house, but it was really familiar. They have the Super Harmons like Lehi and Bangerter, but this is a Regular Harmons and even the layout and selection was familiar. I came for flour and this store did not disappoint. No one else in town carries the same selection, from the heart-grabbing Einkhorn to the paleos to the weird root flour, they have it all. I'm starting a new sourdough starter and so I needed rye and found it here no problem. That's an easy one. I didn't shop too many other aisles, but I did check out the floral department for the stems and the plants. The houseplant selection was a little thin, but they had some nice options for lilies in the fridge. I forget to look there sometimes, so don't make my mistake and just think that's where arrangements are held. I'm a longtime fan of Harmons, but on the regular they've kind of priced me out of their neighborhood. But when I want the good stuff, the weird stuff, the local stuff, or the imported stuff, I'm first in line here. read more

Worst meat department I've run across. Wife brought home steaks today. She paid $28.99/lb for PRIME Rib Eyes. There is absolutely no way possible that these were rated prime. They had horrible marbling, but the outer fat ring was think and definitely should have been trimmed. Steaks were also NOT TENDER AT ALL. We always buy out meat at Costco but she was at Harmons already. NEVER AGAIN!!! Horrible butcher department. read more

Huge fan!! Besides Harmons taking health & science seriously this past year which I'll always be grateful for, I'm grateful for the high quality products they carry. I stopped by early Saturday morning mostly to get oranges because oranges are well known to be the best at Harmons. I also like getting them at Harmons already sliced up because I have wrist and joint pain that makes it hard to peal or cut oranges. As I was wondering around the produce, I couldn't find any cut up oranges so I asked the person behind the produce counter if they would cut some for me. They were more than happy to. I'm so so so so grateful for that. They get a huge 5 star rating for customer service and quality hands down Thank you Harmons. read more

There's a bunch of things I love about Harmons in general. There's so much here! The layout of this store is really easy to shop and the employees seem friendly even in these times which I can appreciate. The store is always clean and pretty stocked. I've never had anything from their bakery except pumpkin chocolate chip cookies that my coworkers seem to be so fond of. I'll try something from there in the near future. Their deli and all the selections of meats and cheeses and more. I love cheese balls and I swear when I come in the store, I'm bombarded by the options for cheese balls and crackers! Did I buy some on this trip? You know it. I went in for snacks anyway so coming out with one of these was a must. I only found 1 box of gushers. Say what?! One box? Are we going on a Gusher shortage because I need to be on a gusher hunt for bae if so! ;) The employee that told me that gushers were in the candy aisle must've never eaten them before because they aren't in that aisle buddy! Parking isn't an issue, carts were sanitized before hand, masks are required, electric carts charging at door, no issue found for wheelchair accessibility as there wasn't anything in the way for someone to be to get around easily. read more

I moved to the area recently and was so sooo happy to find this Harmon's. I sort of feel like this part of town is a wasteland of anything organic, natural, "crunchy", etc. This Harmon's has a good solid basic selection of the items I used to get at Whole Foods across town and that makes me happy. There are lots of milk options here in the cold dairy case. You will find flax, almond, soy, coconut and of course regular cows milk. In the aisles you can also find boxes of hempseed milk. I even found coconut milk nog over the holidays. Lots of gluten free stuff around the store and a nice little selection of dairy free cheese substitutes in the case near the produce. Speaking of produce, theirs is always top notch. Yummy and fresh and super helpful staff in that department. I really like the specialty salts they have set up, too. This was the only store I found Alaea salt for making some kalua pig, nom nom. While Hamon's is on the pricier side for grocers in the area, this is a classic example of 'you get what you pay for.' read more

I really like shopping at Harmons. Clean store, pretty good selection of items. But, I won't be buying produce here anymore. I think a lot their produce signs are deceptive. Just an example... iceberg lettuce at Walmart is 1.74 each, at Harmons the sign is 1.39. Wow, great deal, I'll buy 2. Then you get to checkout and see the price is over 5.00. The clerk explained it's 1.39 per pound. I had several experiences like this. I should not have to read the fine print on everything in produce. I'll go to Winco, Lucky or Walmart for my produce, their pricing is straightforward. read more

I love Harmon's! They have dry aged prime grade beef. I want you to look through the phone book or google if your not old and find a local butcher that carries aged prime beef. It is a lot harder to find than you would think. I looked up a dozen butchers in the valley and visited them to try and find some. They all said they might get some in but it's random and they don't know when they will get any in. Harmon's has it. Always. Not only do they have it but they have tomahawk ribeyes too. If your looking for a great present for Father's Day look no further. If you brought me home one of those beauties... anyway... They also have a delightful cheese section with an advisor to assist you in your cheese eating options. If you are looking for cheese to make Alfredo they have it. (Sartori is the best I have ever had. Holy crap it was amazing. They won a huge cheese competition with this cheese and wow they definitely earned that medal). If your looking for a great fondue then they will point you to a Swiss cheese(gruyere) and a cave aged one that melt together wonderfully. It does make your house smell horrible. Fontina works well too but isn't so foot smelling as the other two. Maybe your looking for a less adventuresome cheddar cheese to eat while your working. They have some of Cabot's seriously sharp cheese that will give you some familiar cheddar flavor with a sharp kick to keep it interesting. Just next door is the bean to bar chocolate stand. If you don't know what bean to bar is then we need to have a talk. I'll learn you good. Anyway... solstice is a chocolate company that just came out with a dark milk chocolate bar that is absolutely amazing. I was so amazed by this bar it is just delightful. You have to try it. Right next to solstice is Amano. They are just phenomenal they have a bar that tastes like flowers. (They say it's blueberry...flowers...blueberries...whatever) It is a must try on my list. If your looking for something a little darker try ritual chocolate. They are a little too dark for my taste but they have a good flavor and richness to them. Now if you know anything about cocoa beAns then you should try Francois pralus chocolate. It is made with criollo beAns. If you don't know this will be a good surprise for you. If your looking for a quick lunch they have a little cafe and deli. I prefer the deli counter. They will sell you a fresh loaf of bread and slice it for you. Then they will slice you some of their deli meat. They offer boars head meat and cheese. It's more expensive but as is everything at Harmon's, it won't disappoint. They also have green and blacks chocolate from Italy that is a good comparatively cheap milk chocolate that I really enjoy. In short they are more expensive and higher quality. They have fewer customers and the staff is more service oriented. read more

I remember growing up with this grocery store as a kid and today seeing such great transformation, I'm so proud of the company for thinking forward & moving with the times unlike other grocery stores. Overall, the store was very clean and had great customer service. I was impressed to see someone from management walking around the store to see if I needed any help, which I did. He helped me find an item and I appreciated that. The variety of each product was impressive and I love how they evolve and bring in new items. Let me start by saying I LOVE Harmon's. They have everything specialty that my family relies on for eating healthy. I just don't like THIS store. It is horribly managed. I have tried for over a year to work with the store manager Karen to be patient with this store manager as she excuses empty shelves on employee turn-over. Sometimes shelves with specialty items aren't stocked for over a week leaving consumers to go to other stores. I've spoken to her produce manager her grocery manager and nothing has changed in over a year. The Harmon's on 5400 S and Redwood always has what I need stocked. So do the stores on 134th and MVC, Bangerter and 114th and Redwood and 106th. Why is it so difficult for Karen to keep her store stocked and shelves not left bare for sometimes weeks at a time??? I have dozens of pictures from over a year showing what the 'norm' is. I think Karen has made me a Smith's customer until the new Harmon's in daybreak is built. read more

Harmons used to be my go to place and I was willing to pay for the higher quality and cleaner environment. Over the years it seems quality has gone down, cleanliness has decreased and the prices have stayed at a premium. Last week we shopped for some Superbowl snacks here. Was very disappointed to see the $9 Harmons made chip dip was a huge rip off consisting of 95 percent beans and sour cream with an ever so slight sliver of guacamole. We grabbed a $14 Harmons made take and bake pizza and found the sauce was really watery to the point the center of the pizza just boiled liquid while the edges burn, leaving us with a raw center and an overcooked crust. If this trending standard is here to stay then I might as well save the 15 to 20 percent shopping at Smith's. read more

Add that in with checkers that move at the pace of a turtle and the many new customers that are rude and from California and I won't be shopping there again! read more

I did an online grocery order last week specifically for produce. Normally I get all groceries from Walmart but lately they've had instock issues. I figured Harmon's would be more but would be better quality. The shelf life of my produce has not stood up like what I can get at Walmart. The strawberries that came in my order were moldy at curbside delivery. My avocados were bad - all four of them. My cucumbers could be bent in half, they were so over rippened. When I first lived in SLC I didn't even know that Harmons existed, and I spent my time staring at the produce in other supermarkets thinking, "Surely you can get better quality food than this?" On my second stint in SLC, I found out that you could, and that the only place to go was Harmons. The product is always fresh, the meat is always of top quality and delicious, the bakery makes some amazing things, the store is clean, the staff friendly, and I will never ever call any other store home as much as I do Harmons. Best thing about the West location? Danny the Cheesemonger. Fairly good hours and a nice clean environment. Often I find they don't have what I need and are overpriced with just about everything. Sometimes the staff can be impatient or rude. If I could score the pharmacy separately though, i would give them 5 stars because they are amazing. buenas horas y un agradable entorno limpio. There was this Bruit deodorant with a sign in front of it saying overstock ask for discount and details. When I got to the cashier and asked. I was told all that means is we have a lots of it. It seems like cheating to me. I was told it is on sale. On sale it was 50 cents more expensive than Walmart. They need to stop this fake advertising. read more

I've always loved Harmon's, preferred it over Smith's. Excellent customer service and they have everything one could ever need. However, today I found out they have stopped giving credit for bringing your reusable grocery bags. They still sell the reusable bags and the signs reminding shoppers to bring the reusable bags inside are still posted outside. When I asked the clerk why she didn't give me the credit, she said they stopped the bag credit a long time ago. She said mgmt didn't tell them why, but she thinks it's because too many people were bringing their own bags and it was costing Harmon's too much. WOW!!! I think I'll start going to Smith's...cheaper prices and they still give the bag credit. read more

This is my experience and mind you I have been going there since '97. Lately is been just awful not the grocery store but the customer service, I mean I go there 3-6times a day, I guess you can say I like it but no! I love Harmons quality and I choose to go to Harmons because of its vibe and customer service. For a year now it has gotten so bad that I feel BAD for going in there and asking for a damn salad, a salad? I'm going to start making it at home and just drive farther to another Harmons, it's sad cause I live so close maybe too close and they get sick of me but whatever....I'm done! I have tried and tried always given the benefit of the doubt cause anyone and everyone has bad days but it's over with the excuses. Paul (deli manager) tried to help and was really nice about it but he can't always be there. Again I love Harmons and I love how they give back to the community cause I feel that's what Harmons is all about , If I'm wrong then I'm wrong, I can admit a made a big mistake. Again this is what I experience and hopefully I'm the only one! I can take it....but Harmons reputation means a lot to the owners, so just letting mentioning so hopefully it changes but I can't go back, the negative vibes and looks I seem to getmight as well go to wal mart then. Love this Harmon's! My review is specifically for the gas station area. They just opened up this gas station a few months ago and it's really nice and clean. There's this older man that is almost always there and will come out and fill your gas for you - he's just the sweetest little old man. I love the Harmon's gas rewards as well. The only downside is you cannot select the amount of reward you want use like you can at Smith's, it's a "use it all or nothing" kind of deal, however it does save me quite a bit of money on gas. read more

As with all Harmon's this place is excellent. Great selection, the employees aren't suicidal, and the prepared food is way above average. It almost begs the question, "why do I even bother cooking?" If there's a Harmon's ignore all other supermarkets, just come here. Unless maybe if a Whole Foods is close by and you clear a six digit annual salary. read more

This is my favorite grocery store. I should have written this review a few years back. 3 years ago my husband forgot my birthday... my kids decided I needed at least a cake. So we went to harmons because it was the closest store. We had just moved nearby. When picking out a cake in the glass case my daughter said... my dad forgot her birthday. When they brought out the cake the entire bakery department came out and sang happy birthday to me. It has definitely been a gesture that has stuck with me. My son also says the "cheese guy is really nice" he chats him up for awhile when he has samples. All of the employees there has been very friendly over the years. Some of them have worked there a very long time. I think that says a lot about how management treats there employees as well. I love this very clean and friendly Harmons! read more

I don't normally write reviews, but this morning we decided to take our pup to Harmon's today instead of Smith's. Darla, a manager stepped up to us and told us our dog wasn't permitted in the store (mind you, as we had a full cart of grocery standing in a checkout line). When we asked her what policies she had regarding not bringing dogs in, she later admitted that dogs are normally welcome, but apparently ours was "too big" and "scary looking". Our dog was extremely well behaved, on leash, and kids around the store, adults, staff included, was in LOVE with our pup. I didn't realize your stores discriminated against certain breeds (German Shepherd) who are actually better equipped and trained than most breeds, only based off of appearance of the dogs. Needless to say, since she waited until I wasted my time filling my cart to kick my furry family member out, We left without a single purchase. For a seemingly "progressive" store, you perpetuate terrible stigmas, and it's unfortunate how out of line your store manager was, with no legitimate store policies to back up her behavior. This is MY store. I love all Harmons, this one I go to frequently and they always have great selection. New items, excellent produce and the people that work there are knowledgeable. Last week, after grocery shopping I had to run up the street to the dreaded " W" store for a few items. While there I grabbed my Harmons receipt and, there was only 1 that was a lower price. I love this store. Their butcher block is great very helpful. The bakery has an amazing handmade rosemary garlic butter that goes great on everything. However their prices are a little high and not all the cashiers are very friendly. read more

Harmon's is awesome! It is a grocery store so it is what it is, but compared to all the others it has way higher standards. You will find things there that are not in other stores and there deli and bakery are above par for a grocery store. And yes they are priced higher but like everything you get what you pay for.
