The best changfen I've ever had. I've had changfen in the bay and in china but I think the reason is so good here is because they make it to order and get it to you steaming hot (never got to experience this elsewhere, very unfortunate I know, even dimsum is just warm). Also compared it with a few other changfen/rice roll places in Richmond and we still loved this one the most, especially at this price point ($7.50 cad with egg added) The changfen isn't in very distinct strips because it hasn't had time to cool down and take shape, but I didn't mind. This place is a Cantonese bakery that also has some dim sum options, but they primarily specialize in delicious rice noodle rolls. I got the beef rice noodle roll and added egg for a $1 surcharge, total $7 CAD. What a bargain when other popular rice noodle rolls are approaching $10 CAD. They make each order fresh so it was steaming hot when I got my order. The soy sauce is prepackaged as this is primarily a takeout spot with just 5 seats in a small table (communal). However, we were able to find a spot and enjoyed the dish in the store. The rice noodle roll was really solid - they're not mushy like other places and they are easy to take apart. The soy sauce complements well with the dish and the beef is quite flavorful. I'd definitely come back here if I am craving rice noodle rolls. The only challenge is parking as half of the already tiny parking lot is reserved for staff and you'll be fighting for parking even at off lunch hours around 2pm. read more

We decided to check out the rice rolls from Harmony Bakery in Richmond. There's only one table there to eat so it's really more of a takeout shop. For our rice rolls we got one with shrimp, and one with mixed vegetables. After being sealed in containers for awhile, by the time we found a place to eat and opened up the containers again, the rice rolls weren't so good. The Vegetarian one was especially...meh. Wasn't impressed with the veggies they used. They appeared to be just the small bits of mixed veggies that you would find in a bag of frozen mixed veggies. Plus the rice roll itself was gooey. The shrimp rice roll was slightly better. It was less gooey but still nothing to write home about. We tried a few of their baked goods too. Again, not impressed. This will be part of my new routine when I go see the optometrist next door or grab some tofu pudding from Excellent Tofu in the same plaza. I love the freshly made to order steamed rice rolls. Portions are big and prices are really good. We tried the shrimp one and the bbq pork. Loved both and they gave us a good amount of soy sauce to top it off. If you're looking for cheap and yummy Chinese food, you've found the place! However, don't expect any service from this bakery. The wait time was also extremely long. I would have given them a 5-star if I had been able to pick up my food in a timely manner. I called the Bakery at 12:05 pm to place an order. The lady told me the food will be ready in 30 minutes. I arrived at the Bakery at 12:35 pm. I went up to the counter and told them my name. She "barked" "not ready, go wait outside!" and pointed to the door. I said I wanted to add a pineapple bun with butter to my order and she barked again "no time to make for you. go wait outside!" So rude! This kind of service is prevalent in China and Hong Kong and I've experienced it when I went travelling... my HK friends also warned me about this kind of culture/attitude, but this is Canada here... At 1 pm, I went inside because it has been long past the time she told me. My food was sitting on the counter. So how exactly did they plan announce to their clients that the food was ready? They told us to go wait outside but not once did they come out and told us the food is ready? In the end, it took approximately 1 hour from the time I called to get my food. When I got home, I was starving. Thankfully, the food didn't disappoint. The rice rolls were decent sized. We also added an extra $1 for them to add an egg each. The also gave us sauces for the rice rolls and they were very delicious. The preserved egg congee didn't have too many preserved eggs. If I added all the tiny bits, they probably equated to a nickle's diameter. However, it was only $4. Overall, the food was yummy and very reasonably priced. I went here on May 24th Sunday and Yelp reviews brought me here. I didn't try any of the noodles mentioned here, but tried some of their buns. I ordered the buns by the door and their egg tarts. Some of the menu is written in Chinese so I had some difficulty ordering. It was rather easier pointing out items in the store. Their buns were huge with less fillings in it. Absolutely delicious! I've been looking for this style of rice noodles for a while but I haven't found any restaurants near me that sell it. We took a trip to Vancouver for a few days and of course I was looking all over for for different food options. I remembered that Richmond was THE place to get great dim sum so I searched up rice noodles and landed on Harmony Bakery. We walked in and it smelled amazing. There were breads and pastries everywhere, everything looked so good. We decided since we were crossing back over the border to just keep our order small this time but we'll be back first thing once we come back. The rice noodles were everything I was hoping they'd be. Chewy, soft, SO good. The cake my husband got was also pretty good. It had like a sweet rice flavor. Definitely recommend getting egg with the noodles! Cheap, quick snack in Richmond. I first heard about this place on Instagram, but don't go to Richmond often, so I never had a chance to try it. Then during one of my rare times in Richmond, I was walking to my friend's place and saw the sign and knew that I had to try it out! I had their shrimp rice noodle with an egg (+$1). I waited a few minutes and it was all packed and ready to go. When I opened the container, I was surprised by how much there was. I poured some of the sauce on and had a bite. For $4 you can get this fresh steamed beef rice noodle and DON'T FORGET TO ADD EGG for $1 more because it is totally worth it!! Honestly this plus HK BBQ Master are my two fav must go if I'm only going for a day trip! I loved the texture for the rice roll texture. I should have asked with green onion with egg and dry shrimp but I didn't. I saw it on I instagram and of course I jumped on the band wagon and had to try it out. Their sponge cake was delicious. The cream was just enough sweetness and it was so soft and easy to eat you can inhale a whole cake not feeling bad. ( Please don't do that ) Jimaca dumplings were good till I saw the mince pork in it. Mind you I'm not the one to convince people to become pescatarian but it's a choice. Truly delicious and affordable Chinese rice rolls (猪肠粉) in Vancouver! They are all made from scratch when you order, so it's guaranteed fresh! Our favorites are the ones with beef and char siu (BBQ pork). Recommend calling ahead to place your order so you can pick up when it's your turn; otherwise you will need to wait in line for over 30mins since they are only allowing 3 people in the store at any one time due to COVID safety precautions. This small bakery was discovered by my friends on their last trip and said i must go try it out. They open around 9am. When we got there there wasnt much options to choose from but apparently the bakery is known for their fresh made steam noodles (cheurn fun). We ordered the beef and the plain which they added scramble eggs too. They were really good! Definitely one of the best steam noodles I've ever had. The egg with the noodle was surprisingly really good. They did not let me to buy a single tapioca tart; they said I needed to buy the whole box of 5 while they had the individual ones on a tray for selling. That means they forced customers to buy a whole box so they could get more money. When I asked the staff what were the products because they did not have the price tag for some items, she did not give me a clear and straightforward answer; she sounded unsure of the products and she looked surprised that I asked her. If they had the price tags for all the items (which they should) then I would not need to ask the staff. It was difficult to understand her because she was confusing. Also, they were chatting when I tried to tell them my order. It was rude. Moreover, they did not seal the small individual bag after they put the items into the bag so the items fell into the big plastic bag with handles. Furthermore, I found out when I got home that the staff overcharged me (the items could not add up to that total). No wonder they did not give out receipt. Even if their prices are cheap, I cannot support a store that would lie to customers. P.S. One of the hand sanitizer was watery and had a dirty pump. It was gross. I love this little bakery. It's tucked away in one of the myriad of strip malls in Richmond's golden village. I've come here for their delicious $3 for 5 jicama dumplings on numerous occasions as well as their $4 bags of mantou (Steamed Plain or Whole Wheat Buns). That said, the one thing that always stands out to me here, as well as to their regulars apparently, are their rice noodles. For just shy of $5, you can get a massive plate of Steamed Rice noodles, made fresh in house, that can include your choice of meat (I usually go for pork) and add a fried egg to top it off (extra $0.75). It comes out piping hot and it's just plain old fashioned delicious. Be careful if you get it to go though as the steam from being cooked fresh can make a takeout container a bit leaky. read more

Next time, I would add more meat to the rice noodles as well so there's enough for all the rice noodles. They are only taking orders by phone right now and each order takes about 15 minutes to make. Tried this hidden place in Richmond. Cheapest place I've been to for rice noodles. ($3.75/$4.75). * The beef rice noodle was ok la. Very filling, portions were big, rice noodles were fresh, soft, and tender. The beef was chewy and soft as well! - 6/10 (I prefer sweet soy sauce over salty one, and I wished they had the peanut and Hoisin sauce with it for additional flavour. It was a bit bland to me but over all still decent the rice noodles were definitely fresh!). * The sugar donuts were a let down ($2) they were soft but they tasted more of a vanilla cupcake than a donut. It was airy enough and it was cold and a bit soggy. 3/10 (probably won't get it again. Too soggy for me). * The dumplings were ok la, ($4.75) the skin however was super thick making it super chewy. Well since people have raved about this place for their Chinese Cheung Fan, we decided to take a run out to see if it's all that people say that it is.. punched in the coordinates for their location on Hazelbridge and into the parking lot ( which has a directional driveway).. scored a prime spot and sauntered over.. due to Covid, there is a 3 person max allowed into their humble storefront.. baked items to the left and a combination of old and hand written menu items... one lone lady was there taking freshly steamed items and putting them into plastic take away containers.. so we wait patiently .. she looks over and says nothing so we continue to wait until about the fifth glance is when we asked if we could put in an order .. her reply " what do you want "... not a really welcoming feeling as we've never been there .. so we order a beef, a char siu and a fresh shrimp plus a couple of sticky rice to go as there is no place to sit.. we wait for about 15 minutes and then order up some more take out .. steamed sponge cake in a silver tin.. she takes them out and so we asked if we could have the tins as we intended to drop those off at the local temple and her snark reply " why didn't you tell me when you saw me do it .. we reiterate " This is the first time that we've been there and more than likely the LAST"... don't care how good anything is but if the service is crappy then it's one and done in my opinion that they don't need my business...good luck with your visit in hopes someone tells them of the crappy service and attitudes read more

The rice rolls were tender and fall apart soft, their buns were tasty. The only thing is, I found a curly hair in the steamed sticky rice wrap. And it honestly for lack of a better word, looked a lot like pubic hair. No I don't have a picture as my phone camera was broken, but I swear it's true. Came here for an early breakfast before heading back down to the states. Their shrimp rice noodles were SO fresh - something I normally can't get where I live. It was a huge plate for less than $5!
