Online ordering and pickup was easy. The staff also waited for us to pick up the cake at 6pm. The site said that their cakes were not too sweet and it's absolutely true. Their cakes might be a good option for someone with diabetes. Unfortunately, I didn't expect that the buttercream lining the outside of the cake to not have any sugar at all. My croissants smelled so good, I started eating them in the car on the way home I got 3 croissants: -salted egg yolk, - hazelnut, - almond My favorite was the almond because it was still warm when I got it. It has a fair amount of almond paste inside. Flaky and crunchy on the outside which is perfect! The salted egg yolk croissant didn't taste as fresh as the almond but it also had a good amount of filling. Hazelnut croissant didn't wow me as much as the other 2 croissants. We went with the seasonal fruit and were quite surprised that it was grapefruit or pomelo but luckily, my mom loves these two fruits! It is a little bit bitter but it was balanced nicely by the subtlety sweet cream that is not greasy or too heavy. Absolutely fantastic little café and bakery, was genuinely surprised by how delicious everything was that we tried. It's very small and unassuming, and with such an out-of-the-way location and understated exterior it is really easy to miss if you just happen to be passing by. On the plus side, the café is very cozy and quiet for exactly these same reasons. We ended up trying several of their specialty croissants, and we were NOT disappointed! Family run little shop with incredibly kind owners. We came here to try out their Masago baguette and their salted egg yolk croissant. The first time we showed up they were already sold out of both those items and several other things. We were disappointed but the owners were incredibly apologetic, told us how we could call in ahead of time to order and gave us a couple of sea salt bread for free. The bread didn't look like much as it was small and pale but was quite buttery and soft. We called into to order the next day and they told us to let them know when we were picking them up so they could make them fresh for us. The Masago baguette was as amazing as everyone says they are. They were so generous with their masago and the salt from it blended well with the buttery baguette. I ate it all before I made it home. The almond croissant is fluffy and filled with almond paste The salted egg yolk croissant was the first I've ever tried like this. I loved it! I love how much salted egg yolk they had inside. Their Almond Croissant is cut in half and filled with an almond filling. It was another flakey and delicious delight. Their classic Butter Croissant was a study in the perfect croissant. It was so buttery and flakey, there were shards of croissant all over my plate. The Masago Baguette from here is life changing. I've been searching for this baguette for a very long time. I had one when I was in Tokyo and it changed my life. I'm so happy that to find a replica right here at home. The saltiness of the masago works so well with the butter and the crustiness of the baguette. They are very generous with the masago, so every bite has the fresh pop of brininess. The Garlic baguette uses fresh garlic so there is no shortage of garlic flavour. It's definitely one of the best garlic breads that I've ever had. To be frank, anything spread on this excellently executed baguette would be delicious. The Sea Salt Bread looks like an unassuming bread roll, but it's so unbelievably soft and buttery. They bake a stick of butter into the bread and when it's baking it melts away creating the softest interior with the crispiest butter crust on the bottom. It will blow your mind. I heated it up in the oven so the outside would get all crispy which was awesome! The bread was tender and filled with a decent amount of cream cheese. The garlic was only present on the exterior part of the bread which was prominent but I wished there was more of it. (5/5) Danish Hot Dog: This was also very amazing! It was a hot dog wrapped in bacon that laid on some mashed potatoes and sat on a danish like croissant. I also heated this up so the danish-croissant would get all flaky and crispy. A place that truly lives up to its name! Came in here at 7AM and Francis, the owner, was an absolute darling! She apologized for the wait and made me a latte. Note that they use an automatic coffee machine and Francis herself, stated that they were looking into a manual one in the future; however, I love that they serve Lavazza coffee (well-known Italian coffee brand!)...so smooth and yummy-its the perfect pairing to their baked goods! We chatted for a bit and then she asked me, with a gleam in her eye, if it's too early for cake (it never is!). She pulled out a sample of her Japanese cheesecake, and the salted cream chocolate cake for me to try and give feedback while we waited for the croissants to come out of the oven (hint: the Japanese cheesecake is good!). For me, this shows the mark of someone who truly cares about their product through the feedback of their customers and is eager to improve. You really can't ask for much more! I also love that they use a different dough for each type of baked good, unlike most bakeries. Alright...onto the goods! Salted Egg Croissant: There's a reason why this is their best seller. Be warned, don't expect a giant yolk in the middle of the croissant; expect a continuous well balanced flavour of salted egg yolk and buttery flakiness throughout. I can't tell you how delicious this is when it is warm and fresh out of the oven. A must-have for sure! Pork Floss and Mochi Bun: Mmmmmm. Although I would personally prefer a bit more of the salty pork floss to balance out the sweetness of the bread and the mochi, this was still delicious! The chewiness of the mochi was a good contrast to the lightness of the bread. I can't wait to come back and try more of their stuff!
