He communicated with me the whole time to make sure my needs were met. He was flexible with timing. He and his team showed up early and on time to get the job done. They were carful of their surroundings and broke down the tree safely and with care for my home and the neighbors around me. Two weeks ago, I move into my new house in the PebbleCreek 55+ community in Goodyear, AZ. My concern was that I felt the result was very different from what I hoped. I was disappointed. I hoped to have one of the nicest properties in the community, and instead I felt a little embarrassed. This is my fault, but I was out of the country for a couple of months while the company was doing the install, and I was too busy to give the project the careful thought that it required. After being in the house for one week, I decided that I was unhappy enough to be feel bad instead of happy about my new front and back yards. I decided to find another landscaper to totally redo the landscaping. I had seen the Desert Sage Landscaping truck several times over the past few months working on nicely landscaped properties (I rented a house in the community for 8 moths while they built my house). I liked what I saw. I talked with one of the guys and he took me to the owner, Miguel. I liked having the owner actively maintaining landscapes because that gave me confidence that he had a lot of practical, on the job experience with plants in our desert environment. I showed him my front and back yards and told him what I wanted done. I asked him about many plants that I liked and he told me what was good and what was bad. He was speaking from experience in maintaining so many properties. He gave me a plan within 24 hours and began a couple of days later. He and his crew spent about a week replacing the walkways and plants, and adding boulders, hills, irrigation, lights and many plants. The price was reasonable and the result is excellent. We built a very high end custom home in Paradise Valley…read more Greenscapes was recommended to us by our contractor (also don't recommend) as their preferred landscaper so we trusted their recommendation. We met and dealt with Frank for the hardscape install on our 2 acre PV property. After it was all said and done I absolutely do not recommended this company and here is why: 1) they mismeasured and BUILT our pool and hot tub the wrong size! We had very detailed plans from a reputable landscape architect so this shouldn't have happened. This resulted in our landscape architect having to redesign all the surrounding pool pavers and pathways because the pool was bigger by 2 feet!! 2) they built steps going into our pool that were essentially non functional. When Greenscapes finally admitted to the mismeasured pool, which we agreed to not have them rip the whole thing and fix. Frank did agree to rip out the steps and rebuild those. 3) only after moving in to our home and experiencing significant rain we realized that they didn't compact the dirt before laying pavers, drains, or concrete. We literally had drains pop out of the ground, the pavers for our driveway stated sinking in, standing water collected near our foundation because the drains were instilled ABOVE the grade so no water could actually drain. We ended up going out of pocket and hired a very reputable and knowledgeable large landscaping firm to fix all these issues. 4) the concrete company they used to pour our main front walkway came on TWO different days so obviously the concrete didn't match between batches. We had to have the concrete sandblasted and acid washed to attempt to match. Overall, save yourself the headache and don't use this company.

I shopped around with other contractors and Dave's quote fit my budget, I called him back and hired him. His crew showed up on time and did some demo to my old concrete pad. Then the materials showed up and by the end of the day they laid out the patio and had the Barbecue block frame all set to go. They checked with me to come look at the location before they plumbed the water and gas lines. Day 2 the crew finished the patio pavers and also had the barbecue hooked up and waiting for the sink and tiles to show up. Day 3 they set the sink and barbecue and put the finishing touch with the tile top and molding with 2 cabinet doors. They were neat while they worked and it looked great. Dave had a nice trailer and took the busted up concrete to the dump. I am Very pleased and I look forward to having some Friends over and cooking out.

We have hired Ivan and his team for two projects on at our home…read more In 2019, we had an overgrown tree that had a limb blow down in a storm. We had hired him to trim the tree later in the week, but after the windstorm he re-arranged his schedule to pull us forward earlier in the week. We really appreciated this because the tree was dangerous to our home and our neighbors. They did an amazing job on our tree, and I'm sorry I don't have any pictures of that project. In 2020, we were written up by our HOA for overgrown aloe plants. I called several companies for quotes, and I decided to go with Landscape Guy when his quote was competitive with the other offers. He did us a solid favor the year earlier with the tree, and I trusted his work. We agreed on a day for the plant removal, and his team arrived in the morning. They were courteous and very thorough. In addition to removing the aloe plants, they also blew the front yard and carted off all the debris in our yard beyond the plants that they removed. They exceeded our expectations because we weren't expecting them to clean the seed, leaves and pods that had dropped from our neighbors tree onto our property. Regardless, once again they exceeded our expectations, and we'll be reaching out to them for a third possible project.
