He patched holes and sewed up seams in my Uncle Tony's Legionnaire coveralls from post WWII. Ray repaired the pockets in a leather bomber jacket. Ray also gives advice on whether or not an item can be safely repaired. He cautioned me against carrying too much in my purse and tearing the handles loose. He glued down some leather on another purse handle and said to wait two hours before lifting it. I followed his advice and the purse is holding up! He advised me on how to care for my new suede shoes. It's not just me who raves about Ray's work. Anytime another customer has come in while I'm in the store, they always tell me how great they think Ray's work is and what a wonderful person he is. Ray charges for the repairs he makes. The price reflects how long it takes him to do the repair, the difficulty of the repair, and what materials he has to supply to complete the repair. I have always felt that I've paid a fair price for what he's done. Ray's repairs are well worth it!

When I got there on Sunday afternoon, the store was open but the people working couldn't give me any information or a price quote because only the owner could do that and it was his day off. Okay, I left my briefcase there for the owner to look at and call me with a quote. The owner called me the next day and said that he saw that the handle needed repair but he wanted to know what I wanted done. I asked if he could stitch it up and he said that it was vinyl not leather and couldn't be repaired. I asked if he had any alternatives and he said he could trace it onto a piece of leather. I asked a few more questions and he started getting agitated and told me he could tell that he didn't want me as a customer and he was not going to fix the bag, that I should come pick it up. Wow, if I became upset when my customers asked me questions, I would not have any customers to worry about!
