I'm so thankful to have finally given Mealbox a try after hearing about it a few years back. I never ended up trying it because it wasn't customizable at the time for the packs and I don't eat any seafood but now they have added the ability to subscribe and choose your meals every week. As soon as I tried my first meal I immediately was on the website ordering next weeks meals. I was super impressed with the quality and taste. No other meal delivery plan even comes close to these. I love the variety of the menu changing every week and giving me the opportunity to try new things and find my favorites. There will always be things I don't like as much as others but the stuff I've liked I've LOVED! I also ordered 6 classic twist pretzels. I ended up putting them in the oven to reheat instead of the microwave so they would stay crisp. Everyone that took a bite of them said they were to die for. The breading - stuffed insides were a perfect ratio. I can't say which one is my favorite - they were all so delicious! Some of them were what you'd expect for a $17 food truck lunch (which is typically a lot more expensive than fast food however you're getting something a bit more healthy, and it helps to support self-employed workers in the food business), while some of them were kind of dry. Unfortunately my bowl was one that turned out dry. If I was the only one that received a barely mediocre lunch I would have said something, unfortunately the other people I was with didn't feel comfortable with calling out the cooks for serving them overpriced stuff thrown into a bowl so we just dealt with it and moved on. Somebody sitting next to me had a Korean bowl that looked so darn good I almost begged for a bite LOL. This place has potential however they were more concerned about that quick $17 than giving their customers a 'true' $17 meal.

LOL Been seeing The Village Piemaker pies at Aldi and always look but thought the same thing every time: Wow, that's an expensive frozen pie; why would I buy that when I can buy a Marie Callendar frozen pie for half the price; I can bake a pie just as well as anyone else so why buy that? Truth is that I struggle with crust and find the Marie Callendar frozen pie to be nothing like what I remember eating at their restaurants. And then the day came when I was having a caving for a pie, was too lazy (or busy?) to make one, and saw the last The Village Piebaker pie in the Aldi frozen case. Upon picking it up I was totally impressed; It's a heavy pie. Upon baking it I was totally impressed; It looked and smelled great.
