Follow up to my earlier review of Natural Grocers. Since it's been seven years, I figured a…read morereconsideration was in order. I stopped by the other day, and it was almost like everything was in a time capsule. It felt and looked exactly the same. Nothing looked updated or different, and after a thorough review of the aisles, they seem to have the same standard health food store type items. Definitely some new brands, but mostly the same offerings. One thing I'm seeing a lot more of these days for the health conscious is a focus on added protein and or fiber. I specifically sought out high fiber and high protein, products, and there weren't that many to be honest. A lot of companies are adding one or both of these to their standard products or creating new products to fit this trend, but there wasn't a lot at natural grocers to fit this category. The staff was friendly as usual. I was asked as I was browsing if I needed any help finding anything, and when it was clear that there were a couple of us waiting in line for the one checkout lane they had open, they opened a second one. Very friendly employees, and my interactions with them were pleasant. The interior could use a little refresh. Nothing looked dirty, but the store does look a little dated. I'm not sure what it is about health food stores or sections, but they all tend to smell the same. Not a bad smell, but kind of earthy? I'm not sure anything could be done about that. It would be nice to have a self checkout option. They still only have traditional checkout aisles.

Prices are above average, so I don't get many things, but many of their store brand products are cheaper than other stores! I always get their store brand nuts here, as they are even cheaper than Walmart, and with plenty of options on cut. The service is always great as well! They are very friendly and helpful.

I was brought here by a friend who already knew the ropes, but honestly it's super easy to figure…read moreout even if it's your first hot pot experience. Pro tip: don't be afraid to set a timer on your phone so you don't overcook your noodles -- total game changer. I'm officially obsessed. They even have a little delivery robot that brings food to the table, which is unexpectedly delightful. The servers are kind and helpful, especially if you're still learning how everything works. The mushroom broth is my go-to -- it pairs beautifully with the beef. The sauce bar is amazing too, though fair warning: the vinegar pours FAST, so go easy at first. Lunch has plenty of approachable options, so you don't have to be super adventurous to enjoy it. My usual combo is mushroom broth, beef, carrots, ramen noodles, and mushrooms -- it honestly turns into this cozy little beef-stew vibe that I love. But if you are adventurous, they absolutely have the variety to explore new things. I've tried several new foods here because it feels low-pressure and fun. The dim sum menu is another highlight: not overwhelming, and the portions are single-serve, which I appreciate. Nothing worse than all-you-can-eat places dropping huge appetizers and then side-eyeing you if you can't finish them. And yes -- it is all-you-can-eat. There are small upcharges for premium meats or alcohol, but most of the menu is included, so it feels like a great value. Definitely a place I keep coming back to.

A few friends and I went here for lunch and were pleasantly surprised! The food was incredible. The…read morevariety, the soups, the sauces, even gluten free soy sauce/noodles was all 10/10. The place was clean and well stocked. There was a variety of different seating, and we were able to be sat fairly quickly. I tried the bone broth soup with a variety of veggies, chicken, and beef. The broth was perfectly paired with all my food, and didn't take away from the flavors. The only reason this restaurant isn't getting 5 stars was the service. Our server was attentive at the beginning and then once we got our soup base, basically ignored us. We had to flag him down several times. He mentioned he didn't want to interrupt our conversation, which was kind, but it got frustrating when it happened multiple times. This restaurant is still one of the best hotpot places in Omaha, so I definitely will be back to give it another try even if it's just to enjoy the food.

Truly a gem, which explains why it's so popular amongst the locals. It's located in downtown Omaha,…read moreand attracted lots of visitors on the weekend that my partner and I were in town. Most of the highlight was the various types of burgers and fries they had, so my partner and I got two kinds, and we both enjoyed our respective meals. I had the block burger, which was as good as I imagined it to be, with juicy patty cooked to medium and every ingredient needed to make a good burger. The poutine had a lot of beef gravy and cheese curds, which made the dish a comprehensive experience to consume, rather than just fries. The duck duck goose fries were amazing! The duck confit, cheese curds, mayo, gravy, and gooseberry gastrique combination worked super well on top of the fries, because they altogether basically made it a gourmet dish that I had to eat with a fork. Finally, the sloppy nick was seasoned very well, even if we got the vegan version, which used impossible meat instead of ground beef. It was still really great! Hope everyone who visits Omaha gets to try this spot! Their wall has quite a few articles that recognized them as a locally renowned burger joint, and I could see why. Since they can be busy, I would recommend people getting there earlier to secure a good table spot, if dining in.

Having just got to town and hungry for lunch I walked a few blocks to Block 16. I came because I…read moreread amazing reviews about them and saw they won numerous awards. I also checked out their menu and noticed it was definitely a unique, interesting menu. Upon walking in, there was a line backed up to the door and I waited in it about 15 mins and it didn't move one person, but I used this time to check out the menu and decide what I wanted. After noticing the line not moving and the cashier in heavy discussion with the family that was there placing their order, I felt it might be best to use their online ordering for carryout pickup instead. While doing this, the line moved up once and I suppose that next party had questions too and of course, plenty of time was spent answering those questions. This might seem like good service, but when the line is that long, either have more people there taking orders or use a kiosk for those of us who don't need to ask questions, or remind guests that there are many others in line (probably after the first 5 mins of discussing the menu) and the line needs to move up. After I placed my order, it told me it was accepted and gave me a time range of when to expect my order. I sat down and waited until the end of that range, which was only a few mins, and then went back up to the pick up area to ask about my order. The lady working was very friendly when I explained what I did. She gave me a number and told me she'd bring my order out, she also gave me the drink I pre-ordered. A few mins later, she brought my food out. I looked around to notice that people who were waiting for food prior to me still hadn't gotten their food. I'm not sure if it's always this slow in there or if it was busy because there's a conference in town. Opening the clamshell that my food was in - I noticed a beautiful sandwich and fries. The fries were piping hot and crispy and tasted great. The sandwich looked really nice, but when I went to pick it up, I noticed the entire bottom was soaked in grease and their hot sauce that was on the chicken. So, I fork & knifed this meal. The flavors of all the parts of the sandwich together were nice, just wish I could have picked it up without being a mess. If I ever returned, I'd get something different.
