The Harrington Inn is a charming one-story hotel in Fremont, MI and I truly enjoyed my stay. The hotel had fantastic service in both the hotel and restaurant. At the check-in desk, the receptionist provided a token for a free appetizer from the on-site restaurant, and there was a basket of complimentary cookies for guests! My room seemed more renovated than the photos of the hotel rooms online, which was a pleasant surprise, and was extremely comfortable. The TV had the option to cast from your personal device, so you are able to stream Netflix/YouTube from the big screen! I had no issues with the wifi during my stay. There was also a black-out blind which helped since the sun does set until after 9pm here! The location was also extremely convenient located on Main St - walking distance to downtown (1 mile), and just a short drive to Fremont Lake Park. The restaurant is open weekdays starting at 4pm, and has weekly specials. You can choose to eat at a table in the restaurant, or order to-go and have your meal delivered straight to your room. The continental breakfast buffet runs from 6-9am and is stocked with fresh fruit, an array of bagels/english muffins, and even an automatic pancake machine! read more

The Harrington is spotless. The service is remarkable. They have a lovely outdoor pool beautiful grounds and sweet little shops in the downtown area. There are sidewalks if you wanna walk. coffee shops nearby- overall I give this hotel a big 10. read more

The Harrington Inn was a nice surprise in the fact that it looked , from the outside to be a small facility but in reality was quite large. The inn had everything you could want from free breakfast to a separate restaurant and bar.The heated pool out back was well kept and even though it was in the heart of town was very private. Everyone on staff was friendly and engaging. It seemed like they enjoyed working at the inn. My wife and I enjoyed our stay and would recommend The Harrington Inn. read more

Booked a king size room over a month ago, paid in full and upon arrival our room was no longer available and we were given 2 queen beds. We went to front desk to request the room we prepaid for and were told 'we are fully booked there is nothing I can do'. I do not recommend staying here. read more

Nice rooms, pleasant staff and a good place to stay. However the food is "the lounge" (a bar and restaurant) is awful. For me food is just fuel. So I am not picky but there are limits. If you stay, use Door Dash and get something edible from a local restaurant I will add that it is over priced imho read more

A wonderful hotel. I travel 180 nights a year and stay in major chains mostly because they offer consistency and predictability. I have been pleasantly surprised that the Harrington Inn offers this and more. The staff is super friendly and authentically cares. It is some of the best staff I have ever met. Every request is met with a genuine smile. The facilities are clean and well maintained. It is a converted assisted living facility, so the guest rooms are large and quiet. It's also is a single-story building, so no one above or below. It is an easy walk from the car, but not a roadside hotel, so the street noise is nonexistent. The beds are very comfortable, and the towels soft. The rooms have nice lighting, with multiple lamps to change from workspace to evening relaxation. They handled the pandemic restrictions well. Still offered a full hot breakfast to go when in-dining was not allowed, and social distant table when it was. Refrigerators with freezers and microwaves in all the rooms. At least I think so based on the 6 different rooms I have stayed in. There is a full grocery store a block away if you choose not to eat at the 6 restaurants that are within short walking distance. The hole in the wall Chinese place is excellent, and if you are up for it, try a piled high hamburger at Charlies' grill. I give my thanks to the excellent staff at the Harrington Inn. We stayed here one night in late May 2018 on the way from Muskegon to Oscoda. This property is an oldie but a goodie: Solidly built, clean, up-to-date, and nicely run. A single-story hotel is an anachronism nowadays, but it's really nice not to have to worry about some loud stomper checking in upstairs at midnight. We wish there were more places like this. The front desk staff was friendly and efficient. Breakfast was fine. Housekeeping was flawless. The bed was just firm enough, and there were plenty of pillow choices. The free Wifi was dependable and fast. The location is convenient, and Fremont is a nice little town to visit. Plus who knew this quiet little town was where Gerber baby food was invented in 1927? Check out the historical pictures hanging all over the hotel. The owners came around during breakfast, which was a nice touch. The only real negative was the lackluster shower water pressure. My wife and I were looking for a quiet clean stop for the night with our grandchildren on our way to northern Michigan, we found a gem. The staff is very friendly and outgoing they seem to really be glad that we were there even in the face of the COVID-19 epidemic, every question answered without hesitation and with a great smile, super staff experience well trained genuinely nice people. The hotel itself was very clean up to date nicely decorated, the layout was easy to follow. The pool was first rate, the water was tested daily by the staff at 0730 and documented. We will be certain to stop back at The Harrington Inn, one of Michigan's hidden treasures in Fremont Michigan. Fantastic job Harrington Inn staff see you all again soon. read more

I highly recommend this hotel. In town for a wedding at Camp Newaygo. The hotel met all my expectations, clean, quiet, and comfortable. The staff is what sets them apart and raised my two day stay to great. Friendly people who care if you have a pleasant stay. They go the extra mile in providing good service. An example of this is when driving home, I got a call informing me I had left my suit in the room. I was well over a hundred miles away so they mailed my suit to me. This is a wonderful hotel! I was pleasantly surprised that the Harrington Inn offered all of the accommodations and amenities that hotel chains offer. I typically only stay at Hampton or Hilton hotels because of the predictability and consistency, but if I didn't know better, I would have thought the Harrington was part of the Hampton/Hilton family. The staff was wonderful and helpful-- and most importantly practicing Covid precautions! Bottled waters and cookies were given out upon check-in. The hotel was clean and well maintained. I especially enjoyed that the showers all had shampoo, conditioner, and body wash pumps in the showers, so no need to waste space in your suitcase for your own. Because the hotel is a single story building it has something that most hotels are lacking, but sorely need -- bathroom fans! I would highly recommend staying at the Harrington Inn. Needed a place to stay during the nights I work in town. Not going to lie, I was pretty skeptical at first. From the outside, it does look like a run down hotel that is outdated. I called for a last minute reservation and asked for early check in. The staff at the front were amazing and super helpful after I explained my situation for needing early check in. Upon entering my room I was AMAZED! The room was really nice and clean (comparable to a Double Tree or Holiday Inn) from the bathroom to the desk. Flat screen with your basic channels, but you can sign into your Prime Video or Netflix account. Only thing I could think that would be a little better are the blankets the hotel uses. You get a thin flat sheet and basic fleece blanket. During the months, not thick enough to keep you warm. For me at least. But I was able to go down to the Meijer store down the street and buy a thicker inexpensive blanket. Other than that, I recommend this place to anyone thinking of staying in Fremont. read more

The cookies are outstanding! You must try one of each flavor. The breakfast was standard coffee, juice, bagels. There were some jimmy dean's biscuit things which was nice. The room was super cozy, very clean, and quiet the whole time. I didn't visit the pool or workout room. The staff was always very kind and helpful. Overall I really enjoyed my stay here! read more

We found this place online after looking for a quick romantic getaway for the Fall. We were hoping to find a cabin but that was impossible to find so late in the fall. This hotel offered a Fall romantic package so we thought that it was perfect because there is a national forest nearby that we can hike and see the colorful Fall leaves. When we arrived it looked like a medical office building but to my surprise it was very quaint inside. The front desk rep was very nice and offered us a cookie and a bottle of water. When we got in the room I was so surprised to find rose petals in the shape of a heart, a box of chocolates, and a bottle of sparkling cider. Plus, they gave us a $25 gift certificate to a local restaurant. The room, the Robin State Room was nice, clean. It has a jacuzzi hot tub, flat screen TV, mini fridge, microwave, and leather furniture. The toiletries they leave you smell amazing. I usually never use hotel toiletries unless it's the good stuff. I've never heard of this brand Tarocco, it smells amazing, like an Orange dream pop. I looked it up and the shampoo is $40 a bottle so you know it's good stuff. There's a small grab and go breakfast in the lobby in the morning. If you are looking for a decent breakfast then there are a few places really close by. The only negative comment I have was the sheet situation. When we pulled back the sheets there were old blood stains all over the bed. Then there were fresh ones on the pillow. That was disturbing. My husband went to the front desk and told them and they gave us a nice sheet set. However, the sheets were uncomfortable regardless. It's like sleeping while covering up with curtains. Maybe it is curtains on the bed who knows. read more

This was a nice stay despite the condition of the carpet in our room -- it should be replaced. The room (suite) was huge and easily held two roll away beds. So we didn't have to have the kids in our King. The hot tub was not necessary and detracts from the room. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. For what we paid, this stay was reasonable. The pool was a bit cold, but it wasn't the warmest of days. The continental breakfast was more than I would have expected. Everyone got a bellyful before we left. I'd stay here again. read more

This was an unexpected stay, not to mention, unusual circumstances (checking in just after FIVE A.M.). However, once again, the Harrington Inn did NOT disappoint! To say the front desk staff is 'friendly' would be a gross understatement; they have always been polite and extremely helpful. The bed (though a bit too firm for our preference ) was an OH-SO WELCOMED sight after the long night we had. It was neatly made, had an ample number of pillows (of varying firmnesses) and smelled very fresh. The room was spotless. It had a king bed, leather loveseat, coffee table, fridge, microwave, mini coffee maker, desk; and the bathroom had a nice variety of toiletries. The ONLY reason I am giving a rating of 4, rather than 5, is because of the room rates. We have never paid less than $100 per night here and, though the rooms are clean, reasonably comfortable and well appointed they are somewhat on the smallish side. This is our 3rd stay at The Harrington Inn. It's safe to say, it will not be our last. read more

This was a very pleasant hotel for a small town. The room was large and clean and the beds were soft. The staff was very friendly, and helped us carry all of our stuff, luggage and play-yard, to the room without us asking. Stayed here for three nights recently for a nearby family reunion. Overall, a very nice hotel and better than I was expecting. The rooms were relatively modern, clean and had plenty of space with a seating area with desk and sofa. The HVAC worked fine and the overall noise level was not bad at all. The lobby and breakfast area aren't very large but were adequate for the number of people there during our visit. Selections for breakfast were pretty decent. While the hotel location is nothing special (industrial/commercial area), it is on the main street and close to downtown Fremont which has some shops/restaurants. Overall, I was very happy with the cleanliness, size and decor of the room. While definitely a little dated overall (especially the halls and common areas), the room was fairly modern and nice. Positives: Clean, decently decorated. Rooms are large with nice seating area. Negatives: Small lobby and bed was very soft and moved/wobbled a bit. read more

The Harrington Inn can best be described as a "Howard Johnsons" price point, "Hampton Inn" comfort and services (like soft comfortable bed, free self serve breakfast), with a staff that believes in a "Ritz Carlton" guest experience. I have basically lived here every other week from July until the end of December 2015. The staff have always been friendly, accommodating, and professional. You will find fancier hotels in the big cities, but it will be hard to find better accomendatons in a small town. Some of the extras are passes to Tamerac Wellenss Center as well as having exercise equipment on site, They also have accommodations for large gatherings/weddings. So I highly recommend the Harrington Inn if your travels take you near Fremont Michigan. read more

My family only stayed here one night after leaving Michigan Adventure's en route to Sleeping Bear Dunes. From the moment I walked in the door, I was greeted with a warm face. I was asked a few times if i enjoyed my room (not annoyingly). The rooms were very nice and clean. The sheets and bed were comfortable. The bathrooms were a little dated but the toiletries were nice. My family (2 adults and 2 young boys) enjoyed the continental breakfast before we headed out. Again, the morning staff were all so friendly and engaging. I was shocked by how tasty the coffee was...bonus. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and wished we were staying longer than a night. read more
