This place was very clean, charming and very reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend a stay here!

There's a lot of little things that change in the last couple of years that are not good for anybody. The view is definitely killer, but you could see that they don't really wanna maintain the aspect for their patrons. They used to be a mini golf, which was kinda nice to keep kids busy granted they do have a pool and shuffleboard, but you would expect them to maybe try to expand since the building burned down. It lost a lot of charm. It seems like the owner does not want to care about the property. They also seem to put a Band-Aid on things rather than actually fix things. The building I stayed in was actually crooked and felt like it had foundational problems, etc..

I am conflicted on how to rate this place. I went here for a wedding last weekend. It was one of…read morethe nicest weddings I have ever been too, however it was one of the worst rooms I've ever had. The Good: The wedding was well organized. It was outside on a cliff overlooking Lake Michigan. Everything was well marked. The reception was also outside under big white tents and it was gorgeous. The food was incredible and I assume it was made here. It was buffet service with large white plates and great food. The service was friendly and speedy. The bartenders were nice. After the wedding the resort set up a bonfire with catered food and snacks and it was really nice and fun also. Lake Michigan is only 20 steps or so down from the resort. The resort has a nice pool, basketball, tennis, shuffleboard, and mini golf. The Bad: The room was bad. It was a small, older room which was fine. It had a bed, chest of drawers, sink and bathroom. This was all it had. I'm serious. This place was missing amenities such as wall art, a clock radio, a screen without holes in it. There was no bar or hook in the closet area to hang up my suit for the wedding. There was no iron, no microwave, no mini-fridge, no TV. There is a lobby area but it's not used. We checked in at this old room in the basement covered in panelling and a complete mess. It was not professional at all. The Ugly: I paid about $180 total for the room. I could get a four star hotel room in a major city on Hotels.com for that amount. There is no reason the room should have cost that much. It was stupid. I'll give three stars for a great wedding, but that's the best I could do for getting bad motel room for the price of a four-star hotel.

This is why I don't stay at Days Inns. Ever…read more I don't have any major beef with places like this (that is, 'motels' and not 'hotels') but there's a reason I'll pay an extra $25/night or drive the additional distance to rest my weary traveler's legs at a halfway decent place. Several reasons, in fact. Check-in was an unmitigated disaster. Without a bell to ding, I had no choice but to stand patiently until someone came to help (took 5-10 minutes). When they finally came, one woman ran my credit card "for incidentals" and moments later was scolded by her supervisor for doing so. Apparently she double-charged my card for the night's stay and then had to manually remove that from the system, which took another 10 minutes or so. I finally got my room key and began to WALK upstairs (no elevator) when I realized that the keys didn't come in a sleeve with the room #. Since I have the short term memory of a hamster, I'd completely forgot where the f*ck I was going. With no keycard packet to refer to, I had to go back downstairs and ask, which seemed to annoy them. Hey, not my fault you didn't write that down, like literally every other place I've stayed at. Separately, it sounded as though other guests were waiting to have issued resolved (plumbing back-ups, etc) and management wasn't doing much to fix them. Also, the remote controls in the room didn't function properly. One controlled the TV power, while the other was supposed to change the channel. The latter wouldn't allow me to change diddly squat aside from the volume, so my choices were either watch joyful rape episodes on Law & Order SVU or nothing. I chose nothing. Elsewhere I couldn't help but notice a loose electrical plug just chillin' in the corner of the room.....when I went to go find an outlet, I laughed out loud when I saw how disfigured and mangled the plug was. Like somebody got pissed off and bent the prongs with a pair of pliers....going in opposite directions. Like how does that even happen?? That was pretty messed up. Most hotels now offer free wi-fi or at least have an ethernet cable so guests can watch porn I MEAN SEND BUSINESS RELATED EMAILS. Emails. This Days Inn didn't offer anything, so once again my entertainment options were severely limited. Fortunately I was only staying a single night, so I wound up going to bed early. Wah wahh A check for bedbugs came back negative, thankfully (from what I could tell), but there were plenty of dead gnats and flying insect parts scattered around. So that was exciting. This place is great for when sleeping in your car isn't a viable option. Would I recommend? You're kidding me, right? F*ck no I wouldn't recommend. This place sucked hairy monkey nuts.......and that's an insult to hairy monkey nuts. Sorry monkey!

Carpets and walls were filthy and stained. Rooms were clean (except shower) but everything was old and dingy. The shower, my 11 year old son who cares nothing about cleanliness or showering was absolutely grossed out. This area is pretty weird. Some nice spots but some really old spots. Would not recommend this hotel. It wasn't even economical. I felt it was pretty pricey for what you get. The breakfast smelled disgusting and I was already turned off due to the state of the hotel.

This place is horrible for the $141/night. We booked thru hotels.com and advertised "pillow top"…read moreking bed which, when we got there, our booking for a king bed didn't exist however they had two double beds. Ok, we are in a pinch so let's do this. After running my credit card the attendant got the room key and walked me to the room (never had this happen before...). When we walked in the room was run down, beds sagged in the middle, no "pillow top" to be found, smell of mildew and in general a place where you bring a hooker. All units feature resin chairs outside the door where you can sit and smoke. Sorry to stereotype but this screams low income, low class. If this isn't a sign to cut and run I don't know what is. Take this advice and steer clear.

The host brushed this mistake off and told us that the second room would not be available until the following day. There was no apology or explanation for what happened. We checked into the single room and quickly discovered that this hotel was infested with bed bugs. I saw them crawling on all the furniture as soon as we entered the room. The pillows were stained yellow and the fleece blanket was crusty. The room smelled like smoke even though we booked a nonsmoking room. We immediately returned the key and left the hotel. We had to Uber back to Muskegon to find last minute accommodations. Despite all these issues, the host refused to refund us for the two rooms. I had to seek a charge back through my bank. This is by far the worst motel I have ever stayed at. I do not recommend anyone staying here.
