My experience here was brief but good. I had come in to hear the grandsons of Crazy Horse give a…read morelecture and the venue was listed as the Harrington Library Consortium, but when I went to the address it turned out to be the Downtown Library. I have driven past it but had never been in it. I didn't have occasion to use the computers or check out books but it looked like they had a large selection. I can't give them 5 stars as long as they charge people to use the computers. That's not very helpful to out-of-towners that need to find a computer and print something out. It means it costs us $1.20 a copy instead of $0.20. Later I found out I could have things printed for $0.15 at OfficeMax so I stopped coming to the library. If I lived in town and wanted to check out a book though I'm sure it would be fine. The two people I asked directions of were friendly enough. The first one didn't know the answer so she pointed me over to the other one. She directed me to an upstairs room where I managed to catch the second half of the lecture since I was running late. The lady who seem to be in charge of the event was super friendly and pleasant. I'm sorry I don't know names.

The movie selections are great and up to date. But please do not return after hours and do not…read morereturn all the movies to a different library. Because they do not communicate with each other. One of the movies will be "missing" and you would have to pay 37 dollars for it, plus late fees. No matter whom I call, circulation, each library, etc. They give you the run around and referred you to another library. In the end you end up paying for the movie and more.

This is a beautiful modern Library. It actually looks newer than it is. It doesn't look like it'd…read morebe more than a couple of years old but when I asked the librarian she said it was built in 2002. It's kind of out in the boonies with nothing else near it but a lake that looks man-made. Inside it is absolutely beautiful. The restrooms are very clean and include a baby changing area. There are lots of books which I unfortunately couldn't check out since I don't live in town. It isn't the friendliest Library for a stranger compared to others I have been to. I carry my smaller eBay items with me when I travel and needed to come in here to print a label for a rubber stamp I had sold. I had to go through a bit of a rigmarole and pay a dollar to be able to use the internet either on their computers or on my personal phone. I went ahead and paid it but I have to mention that very few of the libraries I pop into when I travel charge to use their computers or their Wi-Fi. In fact I can only think of one other, in Indiana, and the last time I went in there they did not charge for it any longer like they had 5 years ago. I was able to get my jobs done and the printing charge was nominal, 15 cents per copy, so my total was only about 90¢ for everything I wanted to print out. If I sell anything else on eBay I suppose I will be back again but it kind of cuts into my meager profit to have to pay a dollar just to print a label out.

Being a native Texan, I had heard of this place my entire life. This was even before social media,…read morewhen the stories traveled. Being a native Texan who moved to Colorado in '99, I had driven by this place for years, going from home to home for holidays and other occasions. Finally, I took the turnoff. I don't guess I really knew what to expect when I arrived. There were cars parked along the road, running up and down a field with a paved path leading to an open plot. And then, they were. 10 cars buried at a steep slope, dripping in puddles of color, stand stark in the West Texas flat, dry dirt. It's weird. It's hokey. It's one of the most Texas things to ever be in Texas; I love it! If you like roadside attractions, this is totally worth the turnoff. If you're driving to or from Texas to Colorado, just do it. It's a fun solo excursion. It's a fun family excursion. There's something about adding to the paint and joining the living history of paint upon paint, upon paint. Only in Texas...

All the pics that make Cadillac Ranch look 'cool' are super zoomed in close-ups. It's 10 car-like blobs buried half way into hard-pack dirt and windy AF. Do not make a special trip here *unless* you are already in Amarillo for some other reason. Seriously.
