When I arrived, the receptionist was in older black woman with salt and pepper box braids. I did not get her name. She asked what style I wanted and sent me out to buy hair. Before I left, she explicitly told me that the final choice of style would determine the price and which student would be assigned to me. When I returned, I repeatedly explained that I wanted cornrolls. She kept insisting upon two french braids, and I repeatedly corrected her. Saying No I want corn rolls. Finally, she quoted me a price of $70.00 for cornrose and handed me off to Ambrosia, to perform the services. I showed Ambrosia a picture of how I wanted my hair braided. When it came time to pay at the register, the same receptionist initially, typed in $70.00 then bumped the price to $111.00. When I ask why the price had suddenly changed $41.00. She falsely claimed that I asked for an updo or French braid which styles that I did not agree to. When I asked to speak to a manager, I was told that the instructor had left for the day. In a young man came down and represented himself as management. Instead of listening to the price discrepancy that I was complaining about, he continually overtalked me and told me I had corn rolls. Completely dismissing me because I got cornrolls. To quote one price up front, and then at checkout arbitrarily up the price by $41 plus tip at checkout without explanation and refusing to listen is completely unacceptable. I will never return and cannot ever recommend this business based on this bait and switch pricing and dismissive customer service.

I know it was achievable because I've had other salon do it perfectly before. I had heard about a recommendation to come here and how wonderful this place was so I thought I'd give it a try. I'm so glad I did! Not only was booking the appointment easy and the person who scheduled it very friendly but I got in the next day. I walked in and was greeted with a big warm smile and shown where to go immediately. I filled out my form it was introduced to the stylist whose name was Mackenzie. She told me that she would also have her Co stylist Savannah helping with her as well. While in there I met at least five other girls and all of them were so personable. I felt like it was just a nice Girls Club and immediately adored all of them. They had me laughing the whole time and talking about interesting things. All of them helped each other out and gave each other advice although every single person's job that I saw including my own turned out amazing! All of their teamwork and positive influence in helping each other out was fantastic to see. Mackenzie went over everything with me and explain what she was doing and even gave me some helpful tips for when I'm at home on things that I asked her about. It took about 5 hours which is about the time that I was expecting but the time flew by so quickly. My hair turned out exactly as I wanted and as her inspiration picture showed. I allowed her to do whatever with my hair in regards to haircut and other things because I told her I trusted her. He made my hair look exactly like I want to do and even give it a fresh cut that actually somehow made my hair look longer. I'm so happy with my haircut and have already thought about planning my next visit with other things to do. Love these girls, the work they did, and how all the other clients loved them also as much too!!

FYI, I visited the location at the Southern campus on Fayetteville Road…read more The first visit went really well and my child and I both received haircuts. I didn't mind that the instructor assisted both of the students at various points during the service because the instructor was friendly and clearly teaching the students how to work on different techniques. I left feeling pleased with our cuts, the friendliness of the instructors and students, and that I saved money. A few months later, I made a 2nd appointment for my teens to have their hair dyed, and immediately felt a different vibe from the first visit. The two students who were assigned to my teens were staring oddly at us and whispering with each other, and it felt very uncomfortable. I got the impression that they may not have been comfortable doing my teens' curly hair. I politely requested different stylists, asking specifically for students of color and initially was told it wouldn't be a problem. A few minutes later the instructor brought over another instructor who told me that switching stylists wasn't possible and that I "needed to give these students a chance because they are learning how to make money". I explained that the vibe felt off, but there was no flexibility so we decided to leave. It wasn't worth it to potentially have a bad outcome with student stylists who were clearly not comfortable doing my teens' hair. Honestly, they didn't care whether we left or stayed and I could hear people rudely talking about us as we were going out the door. Overall, you can save a lot of money here if you are open to the idea that it is a teaching salon. However, it's important to know that some of the students may openly show they are uncomfortable doing hair of someone with a different ethnicity.

Then we rushed through practice on eyebrow pads with the blades, but had no example of blade strokes and different brow designs, and also didn't have any critiquing of the layout of the strokes on our practice sheets. Then when practicing on models we didn't get a lot of guidance. The kits included in our purchase price (very expensive) included calipers that we weren't even trained on. We used alternate calipers that were sold separately. The owner was one of the people there that was teaching, and was helpful when asked questions, but Su seemed to bounce around and wasn't able to answer my questions let alone still in one spot in the afternoon long enough to monitor the tattooing I was placing on volunteers. This woman shouldn't be allowed to educate in our State. Students will not leave this class ready to microblade and that's the bottom line. We, as paying students weren't taught hair stroke technique at all. Only one brow mapping method was told using a caliper and an eyebrow pencil. I felt very sorry for the models that signed up - they were botched, not to mention had inadequate numbing which caused the procedure to be extremely painful. I encourage anyone considering a Microblading course to be smart and do your research before taking any class or you'll end up throwing away $2,450.00 like I did.

This morning starting strangely the car wouldn't start, GPS took us to the wrong location then when we finally got there (somehow only 7min behind) it was to more confusion. Somehow our appointment for two, had turned in to an appointment for one, (a student eagerly stepped up to take me.) Oh and also, it was pedicure day! (I have never been so happy to have shaved my lags this morning!) After making sure they would still take the manicure coupon (we would just have to pay the $5 difference). The student helping me was very nice and kept making sure I was comfortable. When it was time to pay, they waived the extra $10 and we left happy. Will definitely go back. (I still need a manicure after all!)

I scheduled and they didn't confirm so I called and there were no students available, but she booked me for the next day at 10:30 am. She was pleasant and helpful but if the scheduling system is not effective can it because if I didn't call, i wouldn't have known that no students were available. I arrived at 10:30 and I got a brand spanking new student. I was her first. She did my pedicure as best as she could but the instructor helped a lot which I was very grateful for. Then on to the manicure by another newbie. She did good. Here's my biggest complaint - they took FOREVER! I left at 2:15 pm! That's right 10:30 a - 2:15p! No acrylics or add on. Just a regular pedicure and a gel manicure. It ruined my whole day because I had something else planned that I no longer had the energy to go to. Everyone was super nice and friendly and the space is crowded but clean. Another thing that was a little concerned about was the foot bath. They don't change out the water so your feet are sitting in there when it's not being worked on, even after they've cleaned your feet. That was kind of yucky to me. Overall I got my nails done cheaper. I guess you get what you pay for. Not sure if I'll return simply because of the amount of time it takes out of my day. But the 2 students did their best.
