FYI, I visited the location at the Southern campus on Fayetteville Road…read more The first visit went really well and my child and I both received haircuts. I didn't mind that the instructor assisted both of the students at various points during the service because the instructor was friendly and clearly teaching the students how to work on different techniques. I left feeling pleased with our cuts, the friendliness of the instructors and students, and that I saved money. A few months later, I made a 2nd appointment for my teens to have their hair dyed, and immediately felt a different vibe from the first visit. The two students who were assigned to my teens were staring oddly at us and whispering with each other, and it felt very uncomfortable. I got the impression that they may not have been comfortable doing my teens' curly hair. I politely requested different stylists, asking specifically for students of color and initially was told it wouldn't be a problem. A few minutes later the instructor brought over another instructor who told me that switching stylists wasn't possible and that I "needed to give these students a chance because they are learning how to make money". I explained that the vibe felt off, but there was no flexibility so we decided to leave. It wasn't worth it to potentially have a bad outcome with student stylists who were clearly not comfortable doing my teens' hair. Honestly, they didn't care whether we left or stayed and I could hear people rudely talking about us as we were going out the door. Overall, you can save a lot of money here if you are open to the idea that it is a teaching salon. However, it's important to know that some of the students may openly show they are uncomfortable doing hair of someone with a different ethnicity.

Then we rushed through practice on eyebrow pads with the blades, but had no example of blade strokes and different brow designs, and also didn't have any critiquing of the layout of the strokes on our practice sheets. Then when practicing on models we didn't get a lot of guidance. The kits included in our purchase price (very expensive) included calipers that we weren't even trained on. We used alternate calipers that were sold separately. The owner was one of the people there that was teaching, and was helpful when asked questions, but Su seemed to bounce around and wasn't able to answer my questions let alone still in one spot in the afternoon long enough to monitor the tattooing I was placing on volunteers. How can you teach a class without brow design examples?

This woman shouldn't be allowed to educate in our State. Students will not leave this class ready to microblade and that's the bottom line. We, as paying students weren't taught hair stroke technique at all. Only one brow mapping method was told using a caliper and an eyebrow pencil. I felt very sorry for the models that signed up - they were botched, not to mention had inadequate numbing which caused the procedure to be extremely painful. I encourage anyone considering a Microblading course to be smart and do your research before taking any class or you'll end up throwing away $2,450.00 like I did.

First of…read moreall everything I read in the previous review is false because I had the opportunity to attend B-ty Institute and Ms. Grace was my instructor. My impression from the first day to the last day was Unimaginable and I am still blowing away by how much I learned because Ms. Grace was very professional, extremely knowledgeable, kind and went beyond my expectations in every way possible. I give this school beyond five stars and with total honor. In fact I highly recommended this school to many people and my Cusin graduated from this school two years ago. I am glad that I was extremely fortunate enough to have met this woman and learned so much from her which led me to own a salon today. And as a single mother of two beautiful boys, going to this school was the best decision that I could have made and meeting Ms. Grace only made all my dreams possible. We need good people like Ms. Grace and it's a shame that someone felt such a way to go out of their ways to write such a ill review. Whoever she is she must have some Serious stuff going on theirs lives to put in so much effort to try to demolish an extraordinary woman character.

The instructor used inappropriate language, including cursing, and taught in a tedious, stressful manner unrelated to NC State Board standards, leaving us frustrated. She also engaged in unrelated personal conversations. There were only two of us in class, and in hindsight, that was a red flag I should have heeded. She's selective about who she allows in, yet still creates a negative environment. On top of that, the program is non-refundable, and she seeks reasons to terminate students. If you're considering this school, think very carefully before enrolling."

This morning starting strangely the car wouldn't start, GPS took us to the wrong location then when we finally got there (somehow only 7min behind) it was to more confusion. Somehow our appointment for two, had turned in to an appointment for one, (a student eagerly stepped up to take me.) Oh and also, it was pedicure day! (I have never been so happy to have shaved my lags this morning!) After making sure they would still take the manicure coupon (we would just have to pay the $5 difference). The student helping me was very nice and kept making sure I was comfortable. When it was time to pay, they waived the extra $10 and we left happy. Will definitely go back. (I still need a manicure after all!)

I scheduled and they didn't confirm so I called and there were no students available, but she booked me for the next day at 10:30 am. She was pleasant and helpful but if the scheduling system is not effective can it because if I didn't call, i wouldn't have known that no students were available. I arrived at 10:30 and I got a brand spanking new student. I was her first. She did my pedicure as best as she could but the instructor helped a lot which I was very grateful for. Then on to the manicure by another newbie. She did good. Here's my biggest complaint - they took FOREVER! I left at 2:15 pm! That's right 10:30 a - 2:15p! No acrylics or add on. Just a regular pedicure and a gel manicure. It ruined my whole day because I had something else planned that I no longer had the energy to go to. Everyone was super nice and friendly and the space is crowded but clean. Another thing that was a little concerned about was the foot bath. They don't change out the water so your feet are sitting in there when it's not being worked on, even after they've cleaned your feet. That was kind of yucky to me. Overall I got my nails done cheaper. I guess you get what you pay for. Not sure if I'll return simply because of the amount of time it takes out of my day. But the 2 students did their best.
