Everyone in the barber college was so nice and personable. I originally went in for a haircut and decided to also get my beard trimmed. It was $9 in total. LD was the barber that did my hair. He was very nice and knew what he was doing. Unlike going to a mainstream hair place like Sports Clips, Great Clips, or Lady Jane's, LD took his time. I've never had someone take so much care in cutting my hair. I just get a buzz cut and it's amazing how many people miss spots. No missed spots here. I've gotten my beard trimmed at places a couple twice before, both at the same place. I was satisfied the first time and deeply disappointed the second. LD knocked it out the park. After going over my beard, he meticulously trimmed my mustache and the part of my beard around my jaw line. For the prices I pay at other places, this is the type of treatment I would expect. Yet, I go to a barber college, pay less than $10, and come out with the best haircut and beard trim I've ever gotten. I'll definitely be going back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great haircut at an unbeatable price.

Then we rushed through practice on eyebrow pads with the blades, but had no example of blade strokes and different brow designs, and also didn't have any critiquing of the layout of the strokes on our practice sheets. Then when practicing on models we didn't get a lot of guidance. The kits included in our purchase price (very expensive) included calipers that we weren't even trained on. We used alternate calipers that were sold separately. The owner was one of the people there that was teaching, and was helpful when asked questions, but Su seemed to bounce around and wasn't able to answer my questions let alone still in one spot in the afternoon long enough to monitor the tattooing I was placing on volunteers. How can you teach a class without brow design examples?

I found the College online and headed in. What a great experience. Old school barber chairs, they are not really old school as they are the ones the school has used for years. The place reminds me of exactly what I look for in a barber shop, it looks and feels like a barber shop. Trust me go there and that will make sense. $7 for a haircut is unheard of in today's world, and the service is worth much more. No more home cuts for me, this is where I will be going from now on.
