Don't do business with this company, they don't answer their phones and they obviously don't care about their customers. They did my driveway on 12/8, I was (and still am) unhappy with an obvious seam in the middle of the driveway so I called them to come take a look at it, no answer, left a message, called again and left another message. On my 3rd call they finally picked up, and said that the owner, Michael, would call me back "within a week". He called me back a few days later and said that he would come by to look at it together with me on the week of the 15th - he never came, never called. I've left 6 voicemails for them since then and they have not returned any of those calls. They sell you on their warranty, but what good is the warranty if you can't reach the company? read more

I had Harris Paving retop my driveway after getting other estimates for a complete tear up and redo because Mr Harris told me a retop would work on my situation. He also sold me their 2 spray on coatings a year or so apart, that "are all you'll need for the life of the driveway", which I did choose since I am an old, single woman and cannot spread a coating on it myself every year. Right away a root pushed up a big bump in the asphalt and like others here I called and called to no avail. yesterday, just a few years in, a couple of guys stopped by and pointed out the grass breaking through the edges, implied I wasn't "taking care of my driveway", and I could see they were about to try and sell me another service so so shooed them away. But now I have to find someone to deal with that because it IS breaking down already. They come when they want, do the job they want that fits into their schedule. read more

I would give less if I could - they say any lies to get your business. They don't tell you up front they charge a 3% surcharge if you pay by credit card - they only tell you that once you're ready to pay, if you pay by check, they tell you - oh just post date the check, no problem, then they cash it the next day. I have never had an overdraft or bounced a check until I did business with this unscrupulous company. When I followed up, the owner, Michael Harris berated and yelled at me for 20 minutes "I said I'm sorry, what do you want from me" as if I was the one who made the mistake. Installed a driveway in January. Was cracking by February. The entire middle of the driveway was not properly installed and full of uneven patches from top to bottom. Been emailing since March to have someone come out and look at the areas we are unhappy with. Instead someone came to our home and performed a "repair" to the cracked bottom when we were not even home. They have been asked to come here to discuss this in both writing and verbally since March and nobody has come here. I would give less stars if they let me. Harris Paving does not answer their phones, they return calls months later and most importantly, the quality of their work is awful. Immediately after installation I called to complain about 1 section that was not compacted correctly. 6 months later, same complaint. Today Michael Harris called and told me that I don't take care of my property and that's the reason weeds are coming through and the .asphalt is crumbling. I would not recommend Harris Paving Industries at all. I see the same issues in other reviews. We had our driveway done in November of 2021. The work was ok but the machine gouged a line into the pavers lining the driveway. We tried to have this rectified numerous times. They wanted to come back and seal coat this November with the compensation for the ruined pavers being a $100 discount on the seal coat. This was after numerous attempts to contact them. That surely won't cover the expense of tearing up and installing 50 feet of new pavers. They seem to damage properties on and around the work site with no regard and then offer measly discounts as compensation. I would stay away and do more research on finding a more reputable paving service, which I will be doing to fix what they didn't do properly. read more

Knocked on my door 3 times before 8am. When I finally answered they offered to do my driveway "for a deal" because they were doing 2 of the neighbors. I declined 4 times before the guy left. Then he came back around and asked someone who doesn't even live in my home for permission to do the driveway. read more

If I could give this company less than one star I would. The job described and the job actually done were two different things completely. The rep, Mike Harris, did the old bait and switch and when questioned, he tried talking in circles to avoid answering the questions asked. When we showed him photos of the work that was being done, he tried to divert the conversation. If a topcoat of asphalt was what he was offering I would've not had the job done. Now, we're left with a mess around our stone garden borders that we need to fix. Don't confuse this company with the more reputable Harris Blacktopping of Yardley. That's the mistake we made. I would like to rate HPI better, but Mike Harris will not stand behind his work or fix issues caused by the foreign laborers he hires that barely can speak English. First, we paid $4800 extra for him to install border cobble stones with concrete. Several problems: 1) They cut electrical wiring when doing the cobblestone border. They did a quick splice job which shorted out several weeks later and cost me over $2000 to repair. Mike argued like crazy how it wasn't their fault and best he could do was $400 or $500. I finally got him to pay $950 and was stuck with the rest. 2) Concrete in the cobble stone border and pathway ramp cracked and settled. Mike would not fix and said this is normal, nothing he can do. 3) Mike told me I needed to get the driveway sealed by HPI to maintain warranty (which isn't honored anyway). I paid about $300 more than a few other companies would charge and the guys did a quick messy job getting tar and sealant on several of the cobble stone borders and painting the leaves of my shrubs. When we pointed it out, they attempted to wipe it off with gasoline and a rag, but our $4800 cobble stone work is black and messy till this day. Do not hire HPI if you want quality work and a company that stands behind their work. read more

The driveway repaving work was fine, but the crew dumped the chopped up old asphalt and grass clumps into our neighbor's yard. We called when the neighbor brought it to our attention. We were told "someone will come by". Nothing happened for days. Our neighbor dumped back all the debris into our property, right on top of my fenced in/deer proofed area raised beds which still had some plants. It took me two hours to clean out the raised beds and try and save the plantings. I called and spoke with Michael who said he "would send someone over". When I said too late, he wanted to know what plants grew in winter that I was upset about (FYI, kale, Brussels sprouts, Swiss chard to name a few). STAY AWAY FROM JEREMIAH W. HARRIS who operates in the vicinity of Schwenksville, PA! He solicited my residence (the entire neighborhood too) several times until I agreed to a large paving job. The work was horrible and, after getting it assessed by an independent contractor, I was told that the only way to repair it was to rip it all up and start over. That would be $25K of work. The driveway is so lumpy and bumpy that it is nearly undrivable so I'm in a real bind. Jeramiah's 2 year warranty is worthless. I contacted him within days of the work but he ghosted me despite numerous phone calls, emails, and so on. Now I have little recourse and have essentially lost all my money. He has convincing looking paperwork with the following license number: PA092193. I have recently discovered that this license is no longer active. U.S. DOT#: 2896199. Was convicted in 2015 for "transient retail business" CASE # MJ-38203-NT-0000114-2015. Huge regrets. read more

Had Harris Paving Industries do our driveway after approaching us about doing others in the development. They did a total of 6 over a few days. Immediately after the work was done, I pointed out to the owner that there was a dip in front of the garage doors and the water was running and collecting in front of the garage. He said it would be fine since it would run off the driveway and into the landscaping...this is not true...runs back toward garage and collects for days after a large storm. I have a few cracks which need repair and several areas where the driveway is literally wearing away and crumbing. I have been emailing them for the past 2 years with little to no response and they have yet to provide a solution or fix to the issues. I have sent videos and pictures as well. I would not recommend doing business with Harris Paving Industries based upon their lack of response and follow through related to their 2 year warranty. read more

On May 25th at 8am Michael Harris showed up at our door unexpectantly and said he was in the neighborhood, and he would give me a $800 discount if I had my driveway done that day. He worked up a price of $4600 which I thought was reasonable and after rapid fire completion of multiple driveways on our block, Michael knocks on our door and asks for the check. The paved driveway looked mostly fine so we paid him. The Harris crew left our neighborhood but left behind a torch on my front yard and multiple piles of blacktop on my sidewalk, apron and in the street. My neighbor across the street who also had his driveway done finally called the Saturday before Memorial Day and told them to please come out and clean up the mess in the street in front of his house. The worker who came out acknowledged they shouldn't have left things as they did. Appears their boss overwhelmed them that day by adding so many impromptu driveways to the work list. Its only then they even realize I still had their torch on my front porch. A few days later when I went to put my trash cans out at the curb I noticed the roller or paving machine had cracked my 3 year old curb and apron. When I contacted the office they said they would send someone out to take pictures. Whether they did or not I never heard back. I continued to call for days and days and days and just got the run around. Now I always get voicemail. I have contacted the Better Business Bureau and I'm out to warn anyone else who is considering using Harris paving in the future. . Had driveway (double-wide, 2 cars deep) redone a year ago. Was told if Harris did sealing a year later the warranty would be extended to 10 years. . Apparently ran out of asphalt and I ended up with 2 grades of asphalt. I thought a later coating would hide it. . Whenever it rains, a puddle forms in front of a garage door. My driveway has a slope. Several asphalt driveway pavers have told me that a newly paved sloped driveway should never have any puddles within a year of construction. Called owner (Michael) and gave be BS about asphalt's properties but he'd stop by to look at it. I texted his cell several times asking for when so I could be home with him. NO responses! . Requested from the office a copy of my original contract. NO response! Finally received it on 7/12/19, after I wrote this review. . Called office to inquire about how much for sealing. Was told $500 with a 2-yr warranty extension (NOT the original 10 year!). Prior driveway was sealed by SureSeal for $150-$175. When I questioned the $500, it magically dropped to $400! Worthless warranty if the company won't stand behind its word. I'm giving Harris a 1-Star rating. If there were a lower one I'd use it instead! Stay away from Harris Paving! read more

They were friendly and helpful, and flexible with adding some more to the original workload when our neighbor wanted to get some more things paved as well. The price was reasonable. Just have to say their cleaned up is horrible. They left blacktop the whole length of the street and modified stone also. I asked one of the guys that work for them about cleaning it up and they said they will well got to say they never did. Leaving neighbor's to clean up in front of their houses that had no work done.. They had no problem doing 4 house today and taking their money. So just some advice don't pay them until they clean up their work. They lie about what they stick down so you better know what your getting done and watch them like a hawk. It's a shame that company's take advantage of people this day and age. SAD !!! read more

I didn't actually hire Mr. Harris, my neighbor did. They put black top down up to 20 feet onto my property when I notified Mr. Harris of this mistake he said, "if the neighbor and I agreed on where the property line is we could mark a line and he would remove the black top that was on my property." The neighbors had some health issues and have since passed away. The new owners looked at the property plan and agreed where the line was so we could have the black top removed from my property. The original work was two years ago. I called Harris Paving earlier this summer to inform them the property line issue was resolved and that we could move forward and remove the black top from my property. I was told when they were in the arear it would be taken care of. Four months passed without a word from Harris Paving. I called again and Mr. Harris returned my call within a week. I again asked if he could send a crew out to remove the black top since the issue was resolved with the neighbors. He informed me I would need to have a survey done on my own property. He recommended that I hire someone and pay for it myself. He then said that I would have get it in writing from me and the neighbors so that he had proof, which I is fine. However, he then stated, "he would do it when he was in the area," his attitude is unreasonable, and I do not believe he is going to resolve this issue that has lasted for two years. The end of our conversation was him telling me, "email it pal," and then he hung up on me. read more

Harris Paving is a con outfit. I gave a one star because there is no negative. Johnny Harris stopped by our house and asked me if they made a good deal would I let them finish up the asphalt they had left over---I told them I would think about it for the next time and left to go to a meeting. A couple hours later I got a call from my wife that a crew of Spanish speaking people were digging up our driveway. No one on site could tell her anything. Hours later I managed to get out of the meeting and get back home to find the crew rolling a single strip of asphalt and to find out that they were out of asphalt. That is when the second con of "let us finish or you will have to live this mess" kicked to the next step. I was quoted huge price and that is when I got all of the lines---"I have to pay the laborers"; "I am a devote Christian" and "we need the work." I thought I made the best deal that I could finishing the job with their equipment onsite---however it is a few years later and the final con has surfaced---the quality con--they did not add a stone base or even suggest it. Through the minimal stone base small saplings and weeds have pushed up; weather has eroded patches of paving; large stones have pushed through the pavement. I was told that these deceptive practices are typical of travellers and small fly-by-night pavers. He was shocked that the Harris family stooped this low. They should be held accountable through a class action law suit. read more

As with other reviews, I was left fairly disappointed with the experience with Harris. My neighbors were having them do driveways and the foreman offered a quote since he was there. they wanted to do the install that day, but we could not free up the driveway due to another project. The quote appeared to be great. I replied to accept online. A month or so later, i received a voicemail that they'd be doing the install later that week and the owner would call me and let me know the exact time and day. Note that it was not a call that they'd LIKE to do the install. No call or message was ever received. Instead, he showed up one morning while I was on work calls. This was a bit of a hassle to interrupt me and move the cars. they installed the driveway. Upon review I noted that they didn't install a berm as I'd asked. At this time I didn't have the quote in front of me and wasn't entirely sure it was on the quote. The owner informed me first that that was a bad idea. When I mentioned that this was one of the reasons I wanted to redo the driveway, he then let me know it didn't matter because he was out of asphalt, but could I please make the check payable to him directly. Again, I was in a hurry and needed to get back to work, so I gave him a check and later reviewed the quote to confirm that the berm was on it. I sent them a note asking about finishing the project and also about their extended warranty and the cost of the seal coating. No response. I sent a follow up a month later. That was just over a month ago. No response. the driveway itself is OK. There are certainly some seams between the driveway and the road that could be far cleaner (my other neighbor used another company and his is cleaner - the two that used Harris look like mine). In the end, the owner doesn't appear to be great at running a business or working with customers. Quick in, get a check and get out. I'll hope it lasts and use someone else either next time around or if I need repairs. I gave them 2 stars because the driveway itself really does look nice. Could have been a little better, of course, but if the experience were better and they actually finished the project, I'd be recommending them rather than recommending that folks steer clear. read more

Harris Paving Inc (HPI), Harleysville/Doylesown, PA, I had my driveway redone by Harris Paving Inc (HPI) in early May and am not satisfied with the work. First, the sidewalk in front of my driveway was severly marked with tar and asphalt which is very difficult to remove, secondly the apron in front of my garage door is still soft and my car tires sink into the driveway. I have called Michael numerous times in which he states he will be out but never shows up. Even called the main office, and they could not reach him. Had to leave another message. When choosing a Paving company, please do your homework and check with others who have had work done by that company beforehand, It will save you time and aggravation in the long run. After reading the other reviews I checked to see if I had the right company, I do. Our experience with Harris Paving was completely the opposite of the other two reviews. We had our entire driveway's old surface (I'm reading off the contract) prepared, milled, machine layered base with hot asphalt, rolled and compacted the rough coat, then machine layered final coat 1.5- 2 inches of asphalt pitched and graded, then rolled to and compacted to hard finish. We got 3 estimates, asked a lot of questions and explained exactly what we expected. Our driveway is large, has a path that goes past a stone rock walled garden, up to the door of the screened in porch. They did an excellent job. There is no tar on the apron to our garage, yet it is level to the driveway. There is no tar on the rock garden wall (there are two walls) and the entrance to the screened in porch is level and not a speck of tar on the tile. They asked if they could cut back our tree before they paved under it. There are a few errant macadam stones that are on the brick walkway, which they had to level to "lower" than the driveway, nothing unusual. I purposely waited to write this review because I wanted to see how the new paving held up in this extremely cold winter after ice and snow. Our driveway was done in August 2017 and as of January 2018 it has held up with no cracks or separations around the edges. We don't have a negative to report. read more
