Waited until 9:15 pm and called again. They said they were just about to give our pizza away and if we wanted it, we needed to pick it up now. Not quite sure why they couldn't call us at least. We rushed down there to retrieve 6 pizzas and they claimed they couldn't even refund our delivery charge. I will never order from them again. read more

I moved from the Quad Cities 28 years ago. And for 28 years I have been craving a quad city style pizza. I was in town due to an unfortunate event but I decided no matter what I was going to get me one...and that's exactly what I did...I got me 2...to take back on the plane home to Florida. I called and asked about their half baked pizza and the man that answered was extremely helpful and answered my questions. I placed my order 2 large sausage half baked pizzas. When I arrived the staff were friendly and the same man that took my order gave me advice on how to box up/wrap my pizza for its flight home. I got home and baked it all the way and had the most enjoyable dinner in more than 28 years. It was just like I remember. Cheesy, meaty and the crust! There is absolutely nothing like this in Orlando and I have searched! I wont let 28 years pass again before I get another that's for sure. I may have to plan trips just to get me more pizza lol read more

I lived in the Quad Cities for two years and choked down Little Caesar's and a local Happy Joe's pizza regularly, but nobody ever let me in on this secret. I spent so much time eating in a bar there, they named a sandwich after me. As with most things in my life, the bar burned down a few years later. There is, and has been for years and years, a "Quad Cities Style" pizza. What makes it different? We were visiting from Chicago and were looking forward to trying out Quad City-style pizza for the first time. We read Harris was the quintessential QC pizza so we gave it a try. Man, are we sorry we did. The cheese was just awful and the sausage was disgusting. We couldn't really get past that. The cheese reminded us of that terrible Provel cheese they use in St. Louis - a weird texture and bland flavor. And the sausage was ground up like ground beef and had a bland, off putting flavor. The crust was good and the ranch we got on the side was very good. But overall, just a very bad pizza. read more

Harris is the original QC style pizza. Many copy it but none surpass it. I was raised in this pizza. Every time we would come to the QC it was Friday night pizza from Harris. They have changed the recipe slightly over the years. For example, their sausage is not the same. It still tastes amazing and is the base ingredient on top of the dough. It has the perfect balance of thinness and crispness. I get the Rink and ask for the extra turn. It tightens up the crust just right. This is our go-to place in the Quad Cities for pizza. We used to visit frequently when immediate family lived in the QC, but they moved so when we had a chance to get Harris pizza on our trip back from the northeast, we jumped at it. The service is horrible lately! We had to talk out tonight because we were seated & no one came to our table for 15mins. Not one of the three waitresses acknowledged us or said they'd be right over or anythng. They were about half full of customers and still no one came to get our drinks oder or anything. Don't buy the sausage pizza. Two small pizzas and one cheese bread over $45 and the sausage went in the trash.

I came here for a family gathering and ordered a small Caesar salad with chicken. The salad came out warm and slimy. There was very little chicken on it. The worst part of it was that the dressing was not even Caesar dressing. It was just like they mixed up lettuce with oil and vinegar. I returned the salad and the waitress brought back a large salad that was the same as the first. I did not eat either salad and they did not remove it from our check. It also took us 2 hours to order, get our food and eat. Our water cups were empty more often than not. When we did get more water we had to grab the waitress as she was passing by to get some. They never asked if we wanted more to drink. I gave them the second star because their pizza is pretty good. read more

This is one of the first restaurants I tried after I moved to the Quad Cities. The pizza there was extremely good, and the restaurant had a good ambience to it. This restaurant, along with Ross's Restaurant, Whitey's, and the Hungry Hobo, is characteristic of the region and can be said to be "Quad-Cities" style. This was also the place I had my first date with my girlfriend, now fiancee. Once again, they do not fail me. Last week, while in the QC area, we visited Harris. I think their sausage pizza is jut about the best around. I have only found 1 place that comes remotely close. The service was pretty good. We only had to ask for refills once. Our pizza and apps came out quick and hot, as ordered. We had 2 large pies, a small and some appetizers. The homemade chips were a great appetizer! Of course the star was the sausage pizza. I get my yearly fix of this stuff, and it has yet to disappoint. I ask you, what does Canadian bacon have to do with Germany? Because that's the meat that was placed on my German pie, though I didn't know that at the time - I was under the gun, at the register, with the cashier staring me down wondering what, if anything, I will eventually decide on eating. It's not like you see a lot of German pizzas on the menu, and I'm of Easter European descent, so it was a natural choice, albeit one at the expense of the supposedly awesome sausage that is the hallmark of any Quad Cities pizza. Despite my complaining, I really, REALLY liked this pizza, thanks to the large amount of sauerkraut placed atop it. Unlike the lettuce of a taco pizza, which is stupid and boring, the sauerkraut provides a tangy and acidic zip to the pizza that you're not going to find outside of jalapenos or maybe some green olives. That, pared with the creamy mozzarella and yes, even the Canadian bacon, made for a tasty pie, but it didn't stop there. The sauce - seasoned well and balanced. But the crust - sort of like that of a bagel - took the chew factor even further than a normal pizza, and had an everlasting crisp exterior that I couldn't get enough of. I don't know if that crust is indicative of the Quad style or is unique to Harris, but either way I liked it. What I didn't care for was the way it's cut into strips. Sure, it gets around the problems presented by the Midwestern tavern-style cut - every piece has an end piece of crust to grab on to - but they were droopy and hard to manage. Between the lack of sausage, the great crust that may not be a part of the style at all, and the cross cut issues, you could say I hardly had a Quad Cities pizza, and the aspects of which I did have, I didn't particularly enjoy. But I'm fine with that, so long as the pizza is all-around good, and this pizza certainly fits the bill. read more

Had high hopes for Harris, but was severely let down. One server on duty for the entire place, on a Saturday night at dinner time. We waited 15 minutes for drinks (table next to us arrived, ordered drinks and got them 30 mins later). We ordered cheese curds before our pizza & a half pepperoni/half taco- no tomato pizza. The cheese curds arrived in 30 minutes, the pizza came out 2 minutes later; and was not correct--covered in tomatoes! The server never came back, so I couldn't mention it, and couldn't eat it (allergy). Finally got our check, and they discounted the pizza by $5 for the tomatoes. Never brought a box for our appetizer or 3/4 pizza (2 slices of pepperoni were eaten by a kid), we got sick of waiting, so we left. The place was full of angry and annoyed customers. Yum!! My new favorite is pizza is the Harris "chicken santa fe"...i got it for myself and found both my sons competing for it... Next time I'm going to order with the expectation of having to share. We also got a Deluxe... it was good, but it was no comparison to the garlicky goodness of the santa fe. I wasn't highly fond of the loose ground meat... it fell everywhere when I picked up my pizza. It also just lacked in flavor when I compared to the santa fe. This pizza is definitely a messy endeavor. A fork and knife would be much more polite than my method: Pick it up with my fingers and just stuff it in my mouth before it could fall apart again. Very pricy for pizza. The customer service at Bettendorf Harris is the absolute worst. They are abrasive and extremely unfriendly. They raise there voice at you for asking the simplest of questions. Try to give them a head up when ordering a large number of pizzas and was reprimanded by a nasty man about calling "only a half hour before needing the pizzas". Passing through Bettendorf spending the night here. Great pizza! We had the veggie. The crust was delicious...not too thin or thick. It was just right and cooked thoroughly. Everything from crust, sauce, toppings, and service was excellent. If we are ever in Bettendorf again this will be our "go to" place. read more

I know that this place gets rave reviews but I don't get it. We went for dinner and they don't serve personal size pizzas after lunch. And then when our pizza came out it had way too much meat and not enough cheese and sauce. I know that sounds like a good thing but it was just crumbly meat on a dry crust. My husband and I ordered a large and didn't even take the leftovers home. However, the service was good and the waiters were really nice. read more

The pizza is amazing. I'm only leaving 4 stars because we were here 3-4 months ago and the messed up our order and we also ordered 2 take and bakes and only received one. Then we waited another 30 minuets for our other one. We filled out a complaint form and the waitress said we would get coupons in the mail. It never happened. We live an hour away so we figured they thought we wouldn't be back so why send coupons. Tonight they were swamped with kids (don't come here when kids are in abundance. Ordered our 2 large pizzas for $50 for the very last time from this Harris. We asked for no olives, we got a crap ton of olives... pizzas lacked cheese and dough was raw in center of both. Poorly cut pieces that looked like a 4 yr old had the scissors. Ultimately it's my fault. Stopped ordering from this place for a variety of reasons 2 yrs ago. Chose to give it another chance as we live less than a mile away. Our family will go back to driving 4 miles away and order from Harris on Locust St. Always consistent and better service. for years i've heard this is good pizza even better than Frank's in Silvis. so disappointed. the entire topping had slid to one side (no i'm extremely careful it wasn't me) the dough was soggy in the middle and sweet. they must add sugar to the recipe. very limited volume on one item. Harris Pizza created a style of pizza that is ubiquitous in the Quad Cities--cheesy, medium-thick crispy crust, slightly sweet and herby tomato sauce, and sometimes outlandish ingredients. Sure, you can get your basic pepperoni and mushroom (and it will be very tasty), but why would you when you could have the Three Alarm Pizza (BBQ sauce, jalapeños, onions, and pepper jack cheese)? Ok pizza, but definitely not the WORLD's finest. We decided to continue our search for good pizza from local establishments in the QC area and tried Harris on many recommendations from friends and neighbors. We ordered the Deluxe (sans mushrooms) and an order of wings. Wings - excellent and this is where the good review is coming from. They were fried...so you can typically fry just about anything and have it be awesome, but they did them just right. Crispy, not oily and delicious. Came with sauce on the side, would have preferred that they toss the wings in the sauce, but I suppose this did keep them nice and crisp since we ordered pick up. Pizza - not impressed at all. I have yet to develop any type of taste for "QC style" pizza. The taste of the pizza was, eh, ok. Lacked a fair amount of sauce was really thin. The cheese layer felt like they just piled cheese on for the sake of it. It was a thick layer of mozzarella that made the ability to pick up the slices absolutely diminished. The over powering cheese layer took out a lot of the flavor of the sausage, which was fairly good. The crust itself was pretty good, but again didn't wow me for a $22 large pie. Overall, probably won't order from them again due to the large cost of their pizzas and the mediocre taste. Still searching for an excellent pie in the area.... read more
