I've lived near the shack for 30 years and just recently started buying their pizzas. What a fool I've been! Delicious! It's a little expensive so it's not a place that we order from weekly but it's a great treat when we do. The buffalo wings are awesome! They don't serve them on Mon & Tues so we make sure to order on other days of the week. Definitley worth the price. read more

Been craving pizza for awhile and decided to give this place a try, and ordered a large Italian Sausage and Mushroom Pizza. I have tasted frozen pizza better than the crap we got. WTH takes the sausage out of its casing and spreads it all over the pizza. On top of that, they cut the pizza as if it was f crazy bread, not even cool. This place is near my parents' house and I usually order it at least once when I come to visit. I've always enjoyed the food and it's reasonably priced. The service can be a bit surly at times but that sort of adds to the charm of the little Mom and pop pick up stand. Very similar pizza to Harris, Stashu's, Franks, and the other facsimiles. Worth checking out if it's near you but they only have pick up, no seating. read more

now just to be fair,this review is more for those people who are visiting the area from somewhere else and looking for pizza. i understand that every city is going to make things their own way and a business appeals to its clientele's tastes in the area. this may be a great place here but from what im used to, i just didn't care for it. you know when you're just dying for something specific but you're in a town that you're not familiar with so you google a nearby spot? you're feeling adventurous and say "hey, how bad can it be?" the worst part is that since you're craving this specific thing, your mind starts to conjure up images of past experiences, the smells, the flavors.... but then 45 mins later the delivery guy shows up with something that resembles none of those great past experiences. i ordered a medium sausage pizza. the crust was alright. sauce was definitely something out of a can without any kind of seasoning used at all and then poured over the sauce and crust is a provocative layer of meat dust. this brown crumbly chunks of something is everywhere. salty. mushy. doesn't really taste like any pizza sausage ive ever had. then they have cheese melted over everything. the cheese may have been good but with all the brown dust in it, you couldn't taste it. sound good? yeah, it wasn't. If i'm in the area again, i'll get something at the store and throw it in the microwave. or eat whatever the previous guest at the hotel left behind the bed because apparently no one's doing their job. that's a review for another day. Pizza shack is similar to Harris, Wise Guys, Franks and anywhere that makes QC style pizza. I saw a review on here from someone who wasn't a fan. Well, this type of pizza is the best. I've lived on both coasts and nobody else makes pizza this way. They used crumbled sausage which is really good. They use really good pepperonis which are under the cheese. They use a fire oven. On top of all that it is in a little hut on Northwest Blvd which is part of the appeal. If you want the restaurant go to Harris. If you want this pizza super greasy go to Franks. If you want a buffet, I'm pretty sure Wise Guys still running that which is great. If your close to Pizza Shack and don't want Machine Shed it's a great pizza place. I'd recommend it to anyone who likes this style of pizza. Hope that helps anyone who is looking to learn about QC Style Pizza! This may be the only thing i like about coming here! read more

Haven't orders since 2008 because of rude employees and mediocre pizza. Went to a birthday party that ordered pizza for 20+ people and it took over 90 minutes. Driver and order taker were both rude. This was by far the most I have ever been disrespected in my entire life. I ordered a pizza to enjoy after my daughter and I just got back from her hospital stay in Iowa city. I ordered the pizza as we left the hospital. Iowa city is 45 minutes to an hour away from my home. I got home and had to wait an additional 30 minutes to get My pizza that was cold and the wrong pizza. When I called to get the problem correct I was asked if it was "really that big of a deal" then when I got upset about the complete disrepect he told me that I was "blowing it out of proportion" this was the manager that I was speaking to. Then he called me back and said that he just put the money back on my card and that he would not be making the pizza. All because they sent me a COLD pizza that wasn't even mine... When I had to wait I tried to keep an opened mind because I figured they where busy, but after being treated so horrible for a mistake that THEY made, and then for them to not even correct THEIR mistake, IS JUST THE LOWEST OF THE LOW... I don't normally even call or write complaints but I had to make sure I warn people so this doesn't happen to someone else. If I could give 1/4 of a star I absolutely would.
