If I could give zero stars, I would. This is my review of the store as a former employee: As a former employee of Harris Teeter in Belmont, NC; I consistently experienced the most stressful work environment I have ever encountered in my 38 years of life due to gross workplace bullying from my department manager, unrealistic productivity standards due to lack of training and this particular store's overall disregard for the final product quality, and immense gossip culture. I worked in the high demanding medical field as a licensed medical assistant for 10 years making nearly $10 more and hour than what I made as an employee at Harris Teeter, but after having my son and being out of the workforce for 3 years, I landed upon a job doing something involving a much loved enthusiasm of mine that involves one of their retail departments. I thought that I had picked a job that might involve typical retail workplace stressors, but nothing prepared for the toxic environment I was about to experience. On my first day of work, my department manager made it known to me that they resented the fact that I was hired without previous experience and not by them specifically. From day one on, my manager proceeded to give me minimal training. My manager's department rules and day-to-day methods for the way they EXPECTED me to do certain tasks were condescending and changed from one breath to the next or were completely not communicated to me. I was frequently yelled at and berated with customers present by my department manager on a daily basis as a result. My manager was doing this stuff on purpose. It was manipulation tactic to drive me out. I was constantly walking on eggshells and never knew if I was doing the task at hand correctly according to the rules of the day, which obviously gave me massive amounts of anxiety. The department manager also tried their best to manipulate me into thinking I had no choice but to work on my specified unavailable days during a certain holiday week because our specific department was known for being extremely busy during this holiday. It did not matter to my manager that working those days would create a financial hardship for my family. I would essentially be paying a babysitter my entire day's worth of pay. Upper management essentially gave my department manager a "firm talking to" 3 times in regards to the way they would yell at me me, but then turned around and gaslighted me by saying that I needed to "be faster" and "more productive" because if I was faster at processing trucks and handling customer service, my manager would have the time to train me properly. Don't even get me started on the constant gossiping going on in that store. On my first day of work, I must have had at least 5 people approach me to tell me some horror story about my boss being terrible at work towards other employees and things my manager does in their life outside of work. Working at Harris Teeter in Belmont had a negative impact on my mental health for the 5 months I worked there. I finally had enough and quit my job there, which was one of the most liberating experiences I've ever had. I honestly have lost total respect for the company as a whole because of my experience as an employee for this store. Fortunately for me, I can move on and get back to playing with my plants at home and flowers in the garden this spring and summer. read more

So glad Belmont has a Harris Teeter! This store is where I find the best quality produce, meats, and seafood. Although it can be more expensive than Wal Mart, the quality is great and the prices are comparable (especially when you shop the sales!). I love the grab-and-go pizzas and the sushi department is stellar. The sushi-maker is top notch! I can't say the same about the Starbucks lol, but maybe it has improved since my last visit. There are a lot of high schoolers who work here and most are friendly and competent. The store is always clean and they are doing a great job at encouraging mask-wearing. :) read more

The staff is friendly and seemingly eager to assist. Picked up some fresh chicken breasts from the meat/ seafood deli this evening. Tried a new lemon, garlic-herb marinade that I soaked the chicken in for about 90 minutes. Grilled the chicken for a total of 22 minutes, flipping each breast 3 times. Incredibly tender and juicy! Popping in for a few bits on Christmas Eve, the store was mostly well stocked (some bakery items were low) but the deli staff was in great shape and very helpful. Produce section looked excellent. Large wine and beer areas, the entire store is tidy and well lit. read more

Very nice HT! ...as it should be lol ...it's expensive shopping here but the benefit is they have tons of variety and unique ingredients you may not find at other stores. Also the parking lot is large and clean. The coupons double and they have triple coupon days as well. So be on the watch for those because that is where the savings come from- making the pricing more reasonable ! Combining those coupons with sales will really give you a good "bang for your buck". All in all, a good store just can be pricey. read more

Look at the enclosed picture of the submarine sandwich that I bought at this Teeter (nor is this the first time that I received a sandwich like the feature picture). The employee's at this store are very nice, and the store itself is very clean and neat. But H.T. has to do something about their substandard sandwiches; way too little meat. Nothing worse than paying the inflated prices everyday and watching a bunch of teenagers steal and cause trouble and nothing be done about it. HT needs to hire off duty officers immediately or we will find somewhere less expensive and safer to shop. Pharmacy staff (Jordan, Sam)is completely incompetent. They lied to me and got mad at me for it. They made me, a heart failure patient, go out in the rain with the promise of a filled prescription on Easter Sunday. Then said they couldn't fill it after it was discussed in detail yesterday. New location as of October 2017. This HT boasts a larger footprint that most and is very clean so far. I find they have most every department that I have seen in any other location. I find their Wine section to be particularly good. They also have a hot bar, sushi and fresh bread area. Their parking lot is rather large and they have a gas station on site (HT branded). There is also a Starbucks located inside. Staff seems friendly so far no complaints other than squeezing by the Starbucks line which tends to block the one front door when Long. read more

ExpressLane Associates need more training. They leave important items out of your order and don't notify you when they call about the substitutions for your order. I was making dinner for three other households who couldn't leave their homes because of health issues/elderly and COVID, and I only had enough to make food for half the people because they left important ingredients out and didn't notify me. I found out once everything was unpacked and it was too late to get what we needed. It wasn't even written on the sheet they gave me. They offered no real solution when I called. read more

This is a great store but homeshop and pharmacy really stand out to me. I've been coming here for 2 years now, and these departments are always doing their best. I'm doing this anonymously because I don't want my information out here. Whenever Homeshop is out of something I've ordered they always promptly call and let me know. I don't know what that other review is about, unless they've had someone new who doesn't quite know how to do everything yet, I've never once had them leave something off and not tell me. Forgive me if I get any names wrong, my memory in my old age isn't all that good. Jill, Melinda, Tina, Melanie(?), the nice young man Brett and some of the new girls I've seen recently are all so wonderful and polite. It's made getting my groceries easier. Thank heavens because this covid nonsense has been so difficult. And the pharmacy staff, absolutely wonderful. Cherie and Sam are both intelligent women who are willing to help always. The technicians are my favorites, Jordan and Lacey. Such sweet girls, any time I need help finding something Jordan is always willing to come out and personally walk me to it! Such a sweet young lady. And Lacey is just a little bit shy. But now she remembers me and she assists me promptly. I've often seen both girls jogging around the pharmacy trying to get things done and they often seem extremely tired and busy. Even seeing other customers getting rude with them over things they can't help like insurance and difficult doctors, phones ringing off of the hook, their drive thru buzzing like mcdonalds, they maintain professionalism and are always so kind to me. And the newest girl, Cameron I think is her name. She's very sweet too. The other departments are lovely but I could go on about these two all day. They make my day at the store just a little easier. read more

HT is very overpriced. Expect to pay $1-$4 more PER PRODUCT. While it is clean, shouldn't that be standard for a grocery store? Understaffed, expect to wait and pay more! HT needs a lesson from HEB grocery in TEXAS. Now that's how it's done... read more

I'm so very impressed with the staff at this store. My wife and I moved to Belmont recently. We have only been to the location twice and we haven't had a bad experience yet. We did a large grocery trip early this week and were able to experience each department and we love it. I fear my wife may leave me for the bakery employees!!! Very friendly. Deli was also wonderful, my wife picked up our sub order and it was delicious. The meat department was also very helpful. Customer service has wonderul clerks too, quick to help, my wife says that Pam was very polite and assisted her promptly. And pharmacy was absolutely wonderful, the first time I went I needed help finding something and Jordan came out to personally walk me to me the item! She was very friendly and I appreciate the time she took to assist me. And this time I was looking for a particular vitamin over the counter when the technician Lacey came out to help me. She couldn't find it and informed me that a lot of things are out of stock, but looked to see if she could order it for me. I declined because I'm very very paticular about my vitamins but I appreciate her offering to look into ordering it. When my wife later went to ask about the antibody test she said that the girls there were so sweet that she wants to transfer our prescriptions to Harristeeter now. We haven't had a chance to try out that grocery order service where they bring it to your car, but our neighbor says it's great and we will definitely be trying that next time! My only complaint if you can call it that, is that self check out both times we're filled with people with full carts! The employee by self check out as well as other cashiers were trying to get people into actual check out lanes but nobody actually moved. It might just be me but I prefer self check outs to be limited to something like 10 maybe 15 items, you check yourself out quickly, but it's hard when all lanes are full and people have a cart with enough to feed a family of 20!!! I worked here for 3 yrs. One man from the meat department regularly went to the bathroom, flushed and walked out without washing hands. I was threatened and harassed by male customers regularly and when I asked for a break to process it I was told no and nobody would help me with recurring creepy guests. Many young teenage women working as cashiers regularly face disgusting creepy male guests but are not given tools to deal with them so many of them stay silent. I was told to wait till break to pee during a 7 hr shift (despite there being no customers and other open registers). Got in trouble for asking a customer to put on a mask last spring (during height of public worry mind you!). Overheard store director laughing and making sexist comments about how annoying and what a burden wives are. Was asked to work in the meat department when they were short staffed even though I was a minor with no training (I believe you have to be 18 to work there and the bakery). Have been called slurs while on the job and told a manager and I was offered no help or even any solace (I was a 16 yr old child!) I got to know so many of my coworkers well and I promise every cashier, stocker, deli worker, customer service person, etc is a hard working person who likely goes home with aching feet and lives paycheck to paycheck. I promise not a single person under the director is paid their worth despite the high prices of the store. There are full time workers who can not afford to purchase groceries here. And looking back, it's mocking how 3-5 certain selected free HT products a month is toted as one of the benefits. Do yourself a favor and shop and work somewhere else. read more

Ok the store is a nice new Harris teeter just like any other. The starbucks is kind of a mess though, I don't know who organizes it or manages it but organization and communication isn't there. The 1st time I went there, there was a crazy line, which is ok but 3 people working and one of them the purple haired one just left the 2 other girls working by themselves. Now I'm no management guru but that is surely a big no no when working in a team with so manu customers to attend. That purple haired lady never came back to help or anything... Anyway the 2 other girls were great, my drink was on point so they get the 3 stars the other one 0. read more

i go to south point and i usually go every morning before school to get coffee and hang out at Starbucks. but the other day me and my friend didn't have a first period so we went there and the workers there were so rude. they took our book bags to customer service and said they were "going to ban book bags and purses soon" and soon after we went and got a shopping cart and the manager followed us around the whole time like we were doing something wrong,all we were doing was looking for a charger because her phone was dead (the charger was waaay overpriced like 15$ for a charger is insane). saying the "boss man is watching there's cameras everywhere"we have it on video and everything. after a little while of hiding out at starbucks we went to get something to eat and when we were looking for food the "boss man" came up to us and was questioning us like we weren't allowed to be there, it was so rude! i don't think ill ever be able to feel comfortable there ever again. read more
