I pass this store once a week but it is hidden from street view so I forget it's there. I stopped to get milk after a failed attempt at ALDI. Wow. This store is so much nicer than the one closest to me. It has a bigger selection of items and is cleaner than my usual store. There were plenty of lanes open and self checkout lanes. I noticed they have a machine that can be used for some dmv services. I will check it out next time. This will be my go to store in the future ! read more

I've made multiple visits here in the last 2 months. The service has improved a lot here. I notice I'm now acknowledged sometimes before I can make it inside. The nice guy working the shopping carts is always very professional and welcoming upon me entering and leaving the store. On every visit I use self checkout and the staff there are always kind. I appreciate the customer service improvements at this location. The Fresh salads that I enjoy purchasing here are well stocked. This is the only location where I find the thin lightly salted rice cakes and the ginger beer Moscow mule cocktails. read more

I've been to this Harris Teeter a couple times, and seems quality has gone down. Service here is a tossup. I was getting very close to being quite upset when one of the items wouldnt scan and it took a couple people to figure it out. What made it even worse is the fact that we told the other attendant what the price was a couple times and kept insisting it wasn't scanned that was the issue we were having. All we needed to do was enter a price so we can pay for the darn thing and go about our day. Were we not clear? I try to be understanding, but come on! This could've been an off day, but please do better. read more

This may seem weird but I am going to rec one Cary Harris Teeter over another . I drive by the NW Maynard HT to patronize the Walnut Street HT. In my opinion it is by far the better store . The Walnut Street HT has a consistently helpful group of Pharmacists . I cannot say that for all the NW Maynard pharmacists --the helpfulness and productivity varies between that staff. Walnut Street HT carries Durham's "Ninth Street Bakery "all natural breads .(NWMaynard HT refused to bring this healthy and delicious bread on board when it changed from Kroger to a HT ). Other Harris Teeter's carry 9th St bread bread ,e.g.in Raleigh --it's on inventory in other HT stores .But the Maynard Location denied that request . (BTW--while Cary's La Farm Bakery bread is tasty ,Ninth Street bread leaves you feeling nourished .) The Asian Food bar staff at the Walnut Street location will go out of their way to personalize their Sushi --extra ginger ,brown rice instead of white rice etc ) . Other store staff are also esp.friendly . As far as ambience the Walnut St. HT interior in drenched in light --NW Maynard HT is dark and depressing . IF you HAVE to be grocery shopping would you not rather be in a cheerful looking ,helpful ,easy to get in and get out store ??? read more

Not on my beaten path, but this is easily my favorite Harris Teeter in Cary. It has about everything I look for in a Harris Teeter, and seems cleaner and brighter than most (and that's saying a lot!). I don't buy everything here, as many of their regular prices aren't competitive with other area markets, but the VIC specials can't be beat. Because of its location on the corner of Maynard and Walnut, it's a little tricky to get in and out, but the parking lot is well marked. During the pandemic, no Harris Teeter is giving out rainchecks, so be sure to get there early to get your amazing VIC specials. read more

This is my GO TO Harris Teeter. It's not the closest one to my house but ever since this one opened, there is just something about its layout that I like better than the others. The salad bar is a great place to grab lunch. Not really too pricey and you get exactly what you like in it. The clerks behind the meat counter have always been knowledgeable and super friendly as we buy our steaks here quite often. I use my Harris Teeter App when I am in the store. Often, there are VIC Specials that don't show up on the shelf prices. Make a list and double check to make sure you are getting what you think is on sale. I'm so lucky this is "my" Harris Teeter. The variety of selection is great- cheap food to organic fancy food. I love the rotisserie chicken. I have to buy some dairy free stuff and this store has all my favorite brands and items. I also love their express lane shopping service. "Joy" fulfills my order pretty much every time and she is so thoughtful, even looks for ways to save me money :) I never have to wait in line to check out. Produce is fresh and high quality. I love shopping at this HT location. It's situated in a convenient intersection which I frequent weekly. It's clean and inviting- your typical expectations of what a grocery food store ought to be- I go in the evenings and it's consistently busy as the choice food store in the area. Lots of vibrant and younger customers like myself shop around that time! Pleased mostly with the aesthetics and location- obviously they have food which is good too. It does feel open and safe for evening grocery shopping which is important to me. I don't need to feel like I am stealing things when I am at the self-check out. I clearly scanned my vegetables to the point where the computer told me, "remove scanned item" and it lists "red pepper". But when the guy monitoring the self check out area came over, it was as though three of my vegetables were not scan, so he had to dig through my groceries to make sure I scanned everything. He didn't even said hello, how are you. I didn't feel welcome. I frequently shop here because it's the only Harris Teeter that is nearby that doesn't look run down. read more

I've been going to this Harris Teeter since it opened, and I've never been happy with the service. I've complained via the website, and I received a call from the manager, but it really never improved. My biggest qualms are with the counters - deli and meat in particular. It just always seems like I am inconveniencing the people behind the counter. Getting cold cuts at the deli meat is like pulling teeth, and the people behind the fish and meat counters just seem annoyed at the smallest request. One example - my mom is particular about fish, and asked to smell the fish before the guy packaged it up. He rolled his eyes at her, and let her smell it, but he was definitely annoyed. Now that the Grande Heights location has renovated (and the service is SO much better), I won't be back to the Harris Teeter on Walnut. read more

This is quite a large Harris Teeter, with a varied selection of grocery items. It's relatively new, so it's clean, and the produce seems pretty standard. Nothing that stands out, but nothing overtly bad, either. I typically go to a closer HT from my house, but if I'm in the area, this HT isn't a bad place to shop. read more

I just visited this Harris Teeter and was surprised to find a shopper not wearing a mask. I mentioned this to one of the store managers and got a response "We do the best we can". No you aren't doing the best you can. You can refuse entry to someone not wearing a mask. If you don't care enough about the safety of your customers to do this, then I will not shop at your store. read more

There was a sign saying "Should you need something from this department outside the hours of operation please ask any associate for help." We went for it, and Neil immediately stopped mopping, and asked what we wanted with a smile. He cut both items with the same smile, and resumed mopping after. I have yet to have a good shopping experience at this location. The only check out open early in the morning is the self check. The staff are nice enough but it is obvious that there's a lack of communication between them and patrons. I went to this location twice in attempt to get fresh sandwiches for a beach trip. The night before I went 20 minutes before closing, all the ingredients were still out yet after 5 minutes of standing around waiting, a young kid told me they were closed... although the ingredients were still out uncovered or anything resembling being closed. But no worries, I just figured i'd go in the morning since those areas are suppose to open at 8am. I go around 8:30-8:45, theres a lady in front of the area who says absolutely nothing to me even though im waiting right in front. So after another 5 minutes of standing around a lady from the back asks if she can help me and tells me they don't open until 10. This was a huge inconvenience, it'd be nice if they updated their hours on the website so others don't waste their time. read more

This store just keeps getting worse and worse. Never enough people working = long lines. HT used to be the one store I knew I could get in and out quickly but not anymore. Always understaffed now and cashiers seem apathetic. I've been getting horrible produce there for the last year. I know they will return my money but it's a hassle to go back to store every time I buy something bad, which has become frequent. No one is ever working in the pizza area when I try to get pizza, there is never any of their Brie cheese already cut and available from the cheese area and then I can't find anyone around to cut it. Employees in the deli and bakery pretty much ignore you. I like to use their nut grinder for freshly ground nut butters but every time I go to use it it's either broken, empty or there are no containers available and never anyone around to help. I've just been having one unpleasant experience there after another-this store is only half a mile from my house but I go out of my way to avoid to It now. read more

On balance, this is a good store. My wife and I had only one negative experience which had to do with a gift card we purchased. My wife was told it could be used for anything and anywhere. The gift card was for our niece who is disabled and lives in Florida, where there is no Harris Teeter. It turned out that the gift card was only for Harris Teeter. My wife complained but management could not offer a refund. In terms of dollar-value meets high quality, Harris Teeter pales in comparison to Publix. So far, Harris Teeter owns this market, with many stores available, but get ready. Publix is knocking at the door. :) read more

I love this Harris Teeter. The deli and the sushi in particular. I know that sounds crazy, but when you come here during the daytime you can ask for any kind of sushi roll and she will make it right in front of you and it's legitimately awesome sushi. It's affordable and it's quick. The rolls are huge too! They have pretty decent prices and it's kind of a One-Stop shop for me if I have my 2 year old when we need to get lunch and groceries. read more

We've shopped here for three years now, and really enjoy the "with small children" and "veteran" close parking spaces. (we fit both criteria) The bakery and customer service desks were incredible with our kids' smash cakes recently! And the cakes were truly delicious.
