This is a great store and we use it every week. We rarely use any other grocery, the selection of goods is excellent, most of the HT brand items are as good or better than the "name brands", etc., etc. I could go on and on about what's good. And the staff is superb! But I have *TWO* BIG complaints: (1) The shelf stocking is ABYSMAL, *ESPECIALLY* in the Campbell's Soup section, the canned vegetable section and the Jello section! Items are mixed, out of place, hidden behind other items, etc. - and it's all the fault of having totally open, undivided-by-separator-strips shelves! (2) The Men's bathroom is atrocious! It is ALWAYS filthy, one of the toilets has a broken seat and has been that way for months, and it obviously is at the bottom of the "clean-up " list at the store. Basically, it's a health hazard. A little modernization and more attention to "creature comforts" for the patrons would go a LONG way in this store. read more

This location is one of my favorites. The staff is very friendly, the ready to eat food (sushi and Asian bar) is delicious. The location is always well stocked and the staff is very friendly and are always happy to help. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the Asian bar is sometimes closed during the time it should be open and I've been to supermarket with a wider selection of food. read more

To be honest, I came I here to get Sbux sandwiches but the line was long so I decided to look at what hot meals they have available. They had a lot of selection- from Asian food, soups, salads, 5 different types of chicken wings, rotisserie chicken and about 6 different types of pizza. I just love going to Harris Teeter! After checking out all their options, I decided to pick up a slice of pizza for lunch. For $2.49 a slice or $7.99/box, it's much a great deal. I got a slice of supreme and they heated it up for me. It was delicious! They also have a really nice selection of produce so I decided to grab some bananas and orange for dessert. For a total of $5 bucks, I got organic bananas, a plump delicious orange and a slice of pizza. It's a great deal for the price of one Sbux sandwich! I highly recommend. read more

At first, I was only looking to buy orange juice because I wasn't feeling well but zeroed in on the deli part of the store. I ordered their grilled chicken and kale salad, which was delicious! The store is a perfect location especially for anyone who is staying at the National Conference Center and looking to stock up on snacks, toiletries or drinks. The produce is fresh, the ready-made food and/or meals all looks delicious and the store has pretty much anything you need that you can buy at a grocery store. The prices are reasonable, the staff is friendly and their store card is free to sign-up for discounts! Recommendation: Yes! read more

I've attached their policy which states something completely different. Actually there policy states to keep the "guest" satisfied. I have been a faithful customer of this Harris Teeter for nearly 2 years now, and I only use the online gorcery service. There is nothing better than being able to order your groceries online and have someone else do the shopping for you. The shopping fee is minimal, especially considering how much time I save. I find that I am able to stick to my budget, and the website is very user friendly. There have been a few times when an item was missing from my order, and someone from the store always drives the item to my home. I can always expect to receive a phone call before I pick up my order letting me know that it is ready. A young man by the name of Tony has been shopping my order for quite some time now, and I always look forward to his call. He's absolutley delightful and always provides exemplary customer service. read more

I visited Harris Teeter in Landsdowne and my experience was kinda traumatic, my dad visits this location frequently, I've never been in this specific location. He takes the shuttle from his home and i am so concerned on the cleanliness of this store... he is elderly and it's concerning to know that the produce he buys is in direct contact with rust... they should really change those shelves for new ones that is just discussing , that is definitely a health-code violation, at least the employees were friendly, but when i asked about why they don't replace the shelves they just said managers don't care about it ... that is very disappointing that they are aware and just don't care if someone gets sick from this . read more

I like this Harris Teeter in my neighborhood. It is always clean, polite staff and fresh produce, meat, diary products and bakery. During this past 14 years that my family and I shop from this store we had 2 very minor issues in deli and customer service. Hello! the wonderful , but pricey - London Broil Roast Beef deli meat...is $14.99 /lb., and it is very tasty and very rare. However, the Roast Beef slices, are always placed on the weigh scale by the (non-English speaking!) Deli workers ($9.00/hour in wages), in a HUGE cold, glob. The slices, which at $14.99 /lb. should be treated with respect and care, are always dumped into a BIG! messy lump, onto the deli paper. Oh well, at least the workers use a fresh piece of deli paper, in which to lay the $14.99 /lb, down on first! That's a relief! read more

This is my go-to grocery store for day-to-day shopping. The produce is always fresh, the VIC specials are fantastic (if you plan it right, sometimes it's buy 2 get 3 free....), and the meat counter usually has a nice offering of grill-ready burgers and kabobs. I've had a few instances over the past 2 years where I've contacted store management (salad bar not open when it was supposed to be, salad bar items not replenished or looking not so fresh), and they've been nothing but kind. What's even more impressive is that they've called to follow-up on the issue to see if I've noted a difference (and yes, all times the issue has been immediately rectified). Even during high-volume times, there seems to be an abundance of cashiers, and if you happen to hit the busiest part of the day, the wait isn't too bad. They also have the best paper bags...handles and all...and are great to keep around the house for any of your toating needs. Try the drive-thru. You place your order online, pick your time frame for pickup and ring a button upon arrival. I use this mostly for huge party-type orders around the hoiday's. Nearly every encounter that I've had at this store with associates have been positive. They go out of the way for special requests or special needs. For example, if you have kids with you, or are pregnant, or just look like you could physically use some extra help, they ALWAYS offer to help you to your car. There are usually some treats to snack on near the deli. And balloons for the kids at the service desk (although, sometimes you have to ask.) I have always found the produce to be very good at this store. I can always count on finding good stuff for parties or holiday gatherings. This is also my go-to place for fish in Leesburg. My only real complaint is that when sales are really good, some of the best stuff gets cleared off the shelves. The shelves aren't restocked fast enough. Either that, or they aren't tagging the out-of-stock items so that customers know. I've come in on the second or third day of a sale to find half the items I wanted to buy are completely gone. read more

Today one of my grocery bags accidentally ended up in someone else's cart and unfortunately I didn't realize it until I got home and saw that I was missing a few items. At first I thought maybe I lost my mind bc this has never happened before. I double checked my car and looked all over my kitchen. Nothing. I called Harris Teeter right away and they searched around the register and then the parking lot and found nothing. Regardless they still wanted to make it right for me and they told me to come in and get the items I was missing, with my receipt of course. The manager was so nice and told me that after I called someone else called in and stated they had my missing grocery bag. It's great to see that there are still very honest people out there. Usually, I prefer to focus on reviews for restaurants, however given the increasing availability and competition among grocery stores in the area, along with more service options, I feel the need to to provide feedback to other yelpers looking at grocery pickup/delivery service options. **Note: This review is specifically for the Lansdowne Harris Teeter's Pick-Up Service. We have used this Harris Teeter for grocery pickup three times in the space of one month. The service has been sub-par to say the least. Our experiences have been: 1st: My husband waited almost one half hour behind another car for a grocery pickup. He could have been in and out of the store in that amount of time. That completely defeated the purpose of having our groceries packaged ahead of time. 2nd: I pulled up with no wait. However, the attendant proceeded to load my car with someone else's groceries. After about the 10th bag placed in my trunk -- and seeing he was continuing to load from another cart filled with bags -- I realized unless they packed one item per bag, those could not possibly be my groceries. Sure enough they weren't. Again, I waited for him to unload the groceries from my cart and then wait for the correct groceries to be loaded. I indeed only had three small bags worth of groceries. Yet another waste of time. 3rd: My husband again went to pick up groceries. Wait wasn't quite as long, but this time we discovered when unpacking them at home that one of the packaged items was already torn open in two places. It happened to be a seafood item so there would be no way one could safely consume it. I called the store and reached a manager. I explained what had happened. He told me I could come back to the store another day for a replacement with my receipt. First of all, the item was just over $2.00 (not worth my time to go back out). I asked to be credited to my account instead. I was told he couldn't do that but would have someone from the pick-up service call me back and work out something. At this point, it was becoming way more hassle than I felt necessary, but I agreed. He took my name and number and said someone from that department would call me the next day. Fast forward one week later and I still have not received a message from Harris Teeter. This is unacceptable customer service. I actually pay significantly more to have groceries delivered via another major chain's service and had just begun to try out Harris Teeter as a potential alternative. With the other service, in a single phone call they have instantaneously credited me for occasional mishaps like broken eggs or missing an item. Mistakes can happen even in the best circumstances, I can be extremely forgiving of those. However, Harris Teeter truly disappointed me with their lack of timely customer service and quality control. Moreover, as one of the first grocery chains to truly dominate this area, they touted claims of being "Your Neighborhood Food Market" and "The Best is What We're All About" as their mantras...not anymore. This is no longer, "My Harris Teeter," and you may not want it to be yours either. read more

It seems like this store is running a scam on deliveries during the COVID pandemic. I placed an order for delivery on Tuesday morning. I received a call from a store employee a few hours later saying that my order was ready for pickup. When I told the employee that my order was supposed to be for delivery, they said they didn't know anything about that, but that it was ready for me to go pick it up. So I went to pick up the order and noticed I was still charged the delivery fee. They were unable to refund me or remove the fee from my bill, claiming that they didn't have the money, the delivery company did. I went home and called the delivery company, who told me that what Harris Teeter had said was blatantly incorrect. The delivery company absolutely did not have my money, I had paid Harris Teeter. They said they would contact the store and notify them of the error and be certain they were giving out correct information moving forward. I called Harris Teeter back and they insisted I still needed to speak with the delivery company, insisted they could not refund the money they had charged me. I finally managed to speak to someone in their corporate customer service department who took my name and number and said they'd speak with the delivery company and get back to me shortly. 72 hours later, I hadn't heard back so I called again to request an update. After being left on hold for 27 minutes and then hung up on, I finally got through to speak with the same woman I had originally spoken to who insisted I should call the delivery company back. When I said I had already spoken to them, she told me there was no update and eventually someone would call me back. TL:DR Harris Teeter is having customers come to the store to pick up their delivery orders and then refusing to refund the delivery fee. read more

Do NOT use online service for groceries! I used this yesterday for only the second time and when I got home, found that at least 6 items were missing. Ok, whatever, things happen. So I called and spoke to a nice lady who apologized and said several orders that day were missing items and it's been very frustrating. She also said she would make it right and get these items to me at no cost and they would call the following day when the order was ready. By 4:00 pm the next day, I called to inquire about the remaining items. I was told they were out of stock, that is why I didn't get them (even though they are supposed to inform me about missing items and substitute, which they did not). At this point,I was annoyed. I told the girl I found it highly laughable that a grocery store was completely out of milk in the middle of summer. She said "well we were". I responded "then you are lying". I also asked why I wasn't called when I could have easily run by the store to pick up these items myself instead of waiting. I then spoke to the manager. Basically he did nothing but say sorry and that yes, it's impossible for the store to run out of skim milk. Oh and bread. They didn't even put in the bread. Frankly, I would have expected them to pick up these items for me NOW and bring them to my house. Or at least offer a store credit. The attitude was basically "oh yeah, sorry about that." In the grand scheme in life, this is a first world problem, I get it. But when a business advertises they provide a service, then do it right. There are reasons why people choose to use this service and it usually involves them being short on time! So by me doing this, it has actually cost me MORE time and a trip to the grocery store which is the FREAKING REASON I USED THE SERVICE AND PAID THE SURCHARGE: I DIDN'T HAVE TIME TO GO TO THE FLIPPING STORE!!!!!! Hello?!!!!! EDIT: I would like to say since this frustration, I have had to use the HT service many times and never had an issue. I am assuming my problem was due to summer help. I will miss having this service as we moved. Based on better experiences since this original post I upgraded from a one star to a 4. We've since moved and I really miss this service. I go here almost everyday. The produce is great, meat dept decent sized & good quality, and lots of sale items every week. This is not the mega store like its near by competitors Giant & Wegman's, but its super convenient, easy to get and out, and I am pretty sure their prices are at or below any other their competitors. read more

The entrance was just short of filthy, and when I spoke to the customer service rep, she said they would take care of it later. This Harris Teeter is just as good as other HT's in the area. It is clean, well stocked, the prices are good, the produce is fresh, and the bakery and meats section are good as well. The staff isn't always the best, but they are never rude, but you do have to watch how your groceries are bagged. read more

I tried the new made-to-order pizza concept at Harris Teeter Lansdowne and was very impressed. The dough is perfect with a nice bubbly rise on the outer crust and their sauce has a great consistency and flavor. The rotating pizza of the month is $7.99 with every other pizza (all come in one size) costing approximately $12. You can call ahead for easy pick up. Great value and in my humble opinion, the quality/taste of the ingredients beats Deli Italiano's pie hands down and of course no tips. read more

Happy employees, good customer service, etc. It pains me to have to write this one-star review, but management has done something to turn me off to this location forever: They've installed a Mosquito, a high pitched noise maker "only teenagers and young adults can hear". Not only has management decided that I'm a good-for-nothing hooligan, but they give me a migraine every time I walk into their store, and I NEVER get headaches. I never saw anyone loitering in front of the store so I don't see why they decided they needed to install this piece of crap. If you're an older adult or can't hear high noises, this might still be a good store for you, but if you or your children are sensitive to loud piercing noises, you're better shopping somewhere else! read more

I cant give the entire store a bad review, but the deli is going to cause us to go elsewhere. We come in every Friday to get subs but i can honestly count on one hand the amount of times the deli has been fully stocked. We started coming in specifically for the three cheese bread and we cant ever get that and we are lucky to even get white bread half the time! I would understand if we came in during dinner rush or something, nope...2:30-3:00pm! Then the poor lady that comes in the time we get there is always running around trying to cut meat and cheese for the subs, because clearly the morning shift doesnt know how to stock for the evening shift!
