I've used this pharmacy for years but things have changed over time. My visit today was frustrating for two reasons: 1) this is the third time in a year that one of my regular meds was out of stock for a week before a shipment arrived. I get this every 99 days, it isn't new. Anyway, I missed my essential daily meds for 3 days. 2) as usual, there was a good size waiting line. I entered as #4 waiting. 10 minutes later I was still #4 as the clerk continued mostly personal conversation with another senior gentleman. now ther are 7 people waiting and one of the pharmacists finally opened a second register and helped 5 people while the casual conversation continued at register 1. I'm moving my prescriptions elsewhere for both reasons. read more

Worker named Zach was helpful with grocery pickup. I walk in to pickup groceries a lot and the manager does not like me hiding groceries in my clothes and forgetting to pay for them and then he calls the cops and then I get mad and we get in gun fights sometimes. Overly impressed with the cleanliness, variety, brightness, friendliness and the organization including the shelves since it's an indicator of hands-on management. We didn't mind some of the higher prices since the store is at a higher level than most. I recently moved to Purcellville, VA. Visited the store a few times instead of traveling to Leesburg. Tonight, I was in the store looking around the meat department (Butchery) to see what I could cook that was fast and easy for dinner. Both guys working did not acknowledge my presence and did not ask if I needed help. A young white male came up behind me and was immediately asked if he needed help. I must of been standing around looking to long as one of the guys came up front from the back and stood beside me staring as if I wanted to steal a package of meat. Unbelievable! We're lucky to have a HT in Purcellville. Shoppi g experience seems to vary with time of day. Staff working nights is fast, at least usually. Staff on saturday morning makes checkout quite slow. But products are good. read more

There's only 2 grocery stores in town and how Harris Teeter is always busy beats me. First, it's never a quick trip in and out. They always seem to have only a couple of checkout lines open and the line for self checkout extends into the beer and wine aisle. Second, Harris Teeter is just plain expensive. Cost of vegetables is comical sometimes. Third, they don't stock a lot of the products I personally eat a lot of. I almost always find what I need at Giant. Fourth, deals are also poor compared to Giant. Even though this store is more attractive than Giant, I think it's a failure. I've been to other Harris Teeter's in the county and they all have their issues. Giant meanwhile has always been good to me. I've been going to their stores for over a decade in the northeast where they go by "Stop & Shop" but share the same logo. With most of the same products and no fuss shopping experience. read more

This used to be my favorite grocery store until it was bought out by Kroger. Many of the products that attracted me to Harris Teeter are either gone or are not priced to attract me away from other stores anymore. Used to have the best produce. Now, most of the time when I do the green beans look better suited to the closeout bin. They used to offer fresh American lamb at very reasonable prices. Then they switched suppliers and the prepackaged stuff is now over priced in my opinion. I still like their Private Selection store brand premium products. They are usually very good. This store sometimes sells fresh steamer clams in the seafood section. I don't know if any other within 20 miles that does, though when prices hit $10/lb, that took it out of my price range. I still use their pharmacy, and I like the 5% discount of the total bill they give to seniors on Thursdays, but I'm finding my Thursday shopping cart getting smaller here every week. Sorry HT. I've been going to this Harris Teeter for many years, and I'm happy to say that they finally made some upgrades. They have some fancy new coolers, they redid the produce section, and they finally have up-to-date credit card payment readers. I think the prices here are pretty good if you get an eVic card and I love the veteran parking now if they would only update the carts, which are looking terrible at power wash the sidewalk I think this place could be five stars. read more

Very impressed with the Purcellville location. Excellent selection, very fresh seafood. Their prime rib burgers are outstanding. Great selection, great service. We even had a return and it was hassle free. Great place to shop. Pro tip: sign up for the VIC card to get additional discounts and digital receipts for returns. read more

I once loved this pharmacy but things have gone downhill lately. Refills are often delayed waiting for restock. This is now happening regularly. They have been 2 weeks late refilling two different meds that are prescribed as monthly. That is not a working solution. I would rate this lower but the staff really try to provide better service read more

I would like to give this store more stars, but I just can't. For me, this is a very convenient location. The prices- especial if you shop for sales-are decent. And they have a really good selection of different foods. What drives a two star rating is consistently long, long checkout lines. I don't care if I come in here in the morning on a Tuesday or a Friday afternoon. Plan on spending 10 to 15 minutes waiting to check out. My one suggestion (other than having more checkout lines open, obviously) would be to put more trashy magazines on each aisle. The aisle I was in today had only magazines like good housekeeping imen's health. Nothing that interests me. I want to be able to read a full issue of people magazine and learn who is marrying whom and which stars are divorcing if I have to spend this much time waiting in line. Note - I have been shopping here during the early morning hours and I've been very pleased with compliance with wearing a mask. But on July 15, I had to run into the store around noon. I was dismayed to see a number of customers not wearing a mask. Nobody that worked in the store said anything to these people. I will only come to the store within the first hour of when they open if they are not going to enforce the mask requirement. Or I will go elsewhere. read more

Sorry but they barely deserve 2 stars. Not enough of the small carts and never at both entrances. The only reason we go there is for some prescriptions. Sushi tastes funny. Meat selection isn't very good. They also need to rotate there produce more. Check out lines, what a joke, never enough open. I emailed their customer service department in NC and was told multiple times that the manager and district manager would contact me, no one ever called or emailed. That's just sad and shows that they really don't care what their customers think or are concerned about. The Vic card for gas points is worthless too, no stations nearby. Our Giant card points are good right across the street from Harris Teeter, how funny is that? Shop at Giant a far better experience. read more

Some very sad, low life haters are obviously shopping in this store! I am tremendously grateful, I am not one of them I like this store, it's employees and managers. I rarely shop here because, honestly, there are less expensive options. However, they sell two items that I can't find anywhere else so I have no choice. I came here yesterday, in the midst of the Covid crisis, to buy these items, and noticed that this store: 1. Provided no hand sanitizing wipes 2. Provided no cart sanitizing wipes 3. Has not made the aisles one-way causing shoppers to pass closely by each other. 4. Allows customers to stand within 6' of each other in the checkout line. 5. Has several workers without masks on (my cashier included). Luckily I was wearing a mask and the items I purchased are non-perishable. Hopefully I can hold out on returning there until after the crisis is over. One last thing, the workers there are always so unfriendly and don't make you feel welcome in their store. read more

I went in just for the black pepper Bellavatano cheese, to pair with the Morel mushrooms I just found, and they had it. The 3 blocks they had were showing some mold through the cellophane. When I asked the nice woman at the counter if it was still edible like tha t, she said no. She then proceeded to grab a fresh wheel, which is almost as big as a small spare tire, and cut me off a fresh block off of the wheel. It was entertaining to watch. Customer service, 5 stars. I got some lunch from the hot serving area, to go. Salmon, mac n cheese, mashed potatoes, and carrots. That wasn't the best. All was just meh. That cheese though, OMG! This HT is the worse grocery store I've ever shopped at. They consistently do not have enough workers. They are totally understaffed and the staff they have are pretty much unable to help should you need something. Please close this store and put us out of our misery. Really glad a majority of folks wear masks in this store, but several don't, which tells me the rule is not enforced. This has been my experience twice in the last two weeks. The first time, I called the store manager, and he explained that people don't really complain about this because it's typically not a problem. Look. If one person isn't wearing a mask, and that person is asymptomatic, then that person is jeopardizing an entire store full of people. Wife was showing a bit more skin than normal. She was getting something from produce and noticed the store produce guy just gaulking at her and following her where she went. She said she confronted him and he turned red in the face and walked away but stood further away doing the same thing. I heard about after we left. I know wife is hot but damn dude really!!! It is finally opened. Everyone in northern Loudoun county has anxiously been awaiting the opening of this branch. At last a real supermarket!!!! Open 24 hours everyday. The sushi bar closes at 7pm, the deli closes at 10pm but the real grocery store is open all the time. At last - a real supermarket!!!!!! Huge selections of produce, cheeses, and wines you won't find in regular grocery stores. There's an olive bar, a sushi bar, a pizza station, a take-away station with precooked hot goods such as fried fish, lasagna, rotisserie chicken and numerous side dishes. Everything you would expect at a supermarket and then some. What really sets this chain apart from the others: USA owned, non-union, fantastic customer service, real butchers, real fish mongers, bio-degradable plastic bags for your produce, open all the time, and oh yeah old fashioned customer service (worth mentioning twice). Like markets of old (and still happening in the south), the cashier unloads your cart and scans the items for you. Someone else bags the items and, if you like, takes them to your car for you. Did I mention CUSTOMER SERVICE?? These days we are all so accustomed to crappy service that we've forgotten such niceties do still exist and you're paying for it everywhere. Here, you actually get what you pay for. Yes, the prices are a tad bit more than the others in town. Worth every penny. If you enjoy cooking, this is your new go to place. Produce, spices, and cheeses I have never heard of - and I'm a foodie. Thank you HT for recognizing that the country folk in Loudoun county do enjoy good food, good service, and variety. Bad policy, double check all their prices are not the same as what they ring up as, also many sale items will not ring up, & check your receipt carefully before leaving. My review is solely about the Express Lane Home shop service. This service is extremely lacking at this location. It has such potential to be great - but is managed or organized poorly. Always out of stock of items , rude customer service most of the time. Express lane call box always broken or they can't hear you. They need a revamp of the express lane service at this location because I'm certain they could have a booming efficient business here. I was dreading going shopping the Sunday before Thanksgiving, after an early morning and what felt like a long day. I was anticipating crowds and chaos. My experience was nothing like that :) While the store was more crowded than usual, there were plenty of cashiers and staff to make things go smoothly. The person who helped me find the missing ingredients needed to make my pies was cheerful and knew exactly where to look. Also, much of what I needed was on display in plain view, and many items were on sale. All in all, what I expected to be a miserable experience, was actually made to be a lot of fun by the well prepared staff at Harris Teeter. Thanks for another great shopping experience. read more

Horrible service, went in to buy groceries and my chip in my card stopped working. Ive had this problem for a while and never had an issue at harris teeter before. Typically they type in the card number and im on my way. Well the store manager today was in a bad mood to say the least, she seemed upset to have to scan my groceries and when my card failed and i told her the procedure to get it to work she refused to use it. Stating that she doesnt type in the number for transactions over $100, thing is this isnt the first time ive had to do this and alot of my transactions were over $100. So going back to the original situation i had to use a card i did not want to use in order to pay for the groceries. I will not be going back to this store nor do i recommend anyone else go here, ill tale my business elsewhere. read more

The store has some helpful managers but one employee, Sarah, has much to learn about helping customers. I am an elderly woman and when I had trouble paying for my one item with the self-service checkout, she berated me as if I were a lazy employee and looked at me with disdain and contempt. Harris Teeter certainly isn't Wegman's, but if you live west of Leesburg and commute over the mountains, it's a tremendous amount better than Giant or Food Lion. I've completely stopped going to the other two in lieu of stopping here on my commute home. Their produce section is tremendous and varied which I appreciate quite a bit. Plus, it's the home of the ONLY Starbucks east of Winchester and west of Leesburg. They try here and it shows. My only real complaint is that they have a corporate policy stating all their freshly baked bread loaves need to be sliced before the shift manager leaves, so after six or so, you can't get a loaf of unsliced bread. It's a small thing until you need it unsliced for a recipe. read more

I was elated when they opened, close enough for me to walk to. I stopped by often for their ready made meals and salad bar. However I was literally sickened by a bucket of their fried chicken. I read the label too late, it contained MSG which made me extremely ill and had me in the bathroom doubled over all night. The sandwich shop needs work, I'm almost tempted to return to subway or just make my own sandwiches. They are sloppy and not very tasty. But it's not all bad, the nice lady from Myanmar behind the sushi counter is sweet and will make your sushi fresh. The Starbucks crew is friendly and know what they are doing. I've cut back on my multiple visits per day to a few per week and read the labels before I make my purchase but I am annoyed with their use of MSG!!! read more

It was 5 a.m. and I went into Harris Teeter to grab a few things to help with the overnight move that I was doing. I checked on the pay scan feature and they said it was working correctly. After grocery shopping I get to the register to find that not only is this scan pay not working but that I have left my wallet at home. The gentleman up front called over a manager and basically at 5 a.m. they took care of my $20 worth of groceries so that I could help feed the people who helped me move. We would have had a terrible night but I was blessed enough to be in a city where people care. Thank you guys. You have a customer for life. read more

I try to give businesses the benefit of the doubt but this store doesn't deserve it. It's pricey, parts of it are just dirty, it's cramped, loud, and did I mention pricey? The hot bar used to be a fairly good deal, but since HT jacked up the price there you will now pay a whopping 9.99 per POUND for lukewarm food and burnt, clumpy rice. What a great deal! Not really, no. When I mentioned dirty I was mainly referring to Starbucks, as I hopped in line to order and saw a fruit fly flying inside of the pastry case. Plus, with the Purcellville tax that cup of coffee is even more overpriced than ever. HT does not take the high town taxes into account and continues to raise prices, I guess hoping people are too stupid to notice? THAT didn't work.
