I appreciate their guidance on my annoyingly intense dislike of all hazy, juicy, or milkshake-y beers. Just stop. Also, a surprising amount of space within the brewery from what you expect from outside. Hung out and worked in the loft which I highly recommend for study groups or non-study groups. But then I joined everyone else outside in the fantastic set up: a food truck, generous amount of seating, great conversation with locals, and such a talented singer/songwriter performing. Very happy I visited on a Friday. Truly disappointed that this gem of a place isn't in my neighborhood. I would be a regular to the nth degree!

No not the caliber of players, no not the music genre... it's the volume! Three times we've been with friends and the volume inside is almost an assault on the ears (.. and my wife says I'm hard of hearing!). We love, love, love live music. Local artists? Incredible! But, for the volume of the music to become the focus of the day, you'd best be The Rolling Stones! We may have come out to hear someone play, but most importantly we've visited to share good times with our friends, catch up, and laugh. The music should bring ambiance, NOT be the focus - for us its kinship, beer and socializing, which we cannot do with the volume of the music so loud. I love being able to experience Virginia wines while living in a different state and I love having my membership benefits when I do visit the area. The staff at Sunset Hills vineyard has always been welcoming, knowledgeable and hospitable. In addition, they are great with managing my shipments and account from afar and they make it easy to customize a shipment if you prefer different wines than they are offering. Their food service is great for pairing, I absolutely love their ciabatta bread and warm cheese spread with honey. My favorite thing to do is stop in, taste what is new and share a bottle and some snacks with friends while enjoying the views. Whether I am enjoying live music inside in the winter months or sitting on the deck or outdoor covered area in the summer months, Sunstet Hills Vinyard is my happy place to unwind.

The only food I had was a hot dog with chips but they have other offerings including pizza, BBQ, and other snack my fare. The beer itself was pretty good too. The property is nicely manicured with a large outdoor patio for enjoying your wine and limited indoor seating options. The vineyard is run by a married couple who conduct all the tastings and produce all the wine themselves. I tried the red wine flight and enjoyed four of the six wines that I tried. The other two weren't bad, but they were not something I would want again. I really enjoyed the Cabernet Sauvignon. I would highly recommend visiting Hiddencroft Vineyards if you are in the area.
