We have visited this store several times. It is clean and organized. Everyone in the store was very helpful, professional, and very knowledgeable. I purchased a keg from Total Wine in Leesburg, VA, on February 8 for one of my customers (I own a bartending business). The keg was too big, so I returned it an hour later to exchange it for another. I noticed on my receipt the next day that I wasn't refunded for the keg. I called and asked about it, and the gentleman I spoke with said it's their policy not to issue refunds for kegs, and he recommended I call another day to speak with a manager. I called back on the 10th, spoke to a manager named MJ, who was very nice, and asked if she'd be able to send me an email stating their return policy so that I can show my customer in order to be transparent with him. She searched for it for several minutes while I was on the phone with her but said the return policy for kegs wasn't actually written down, and there was nothing she could do for me. I don't know what the legality of this is, but I had assumed that an official return policy had to be written down somewhere in order to be enforceable. The manager MJ, told me that this policy had nothing to with VA ABC laws either, so how do I know this is even an official policy? Also, the cashier who checked me out, Derick, could've given me a heads up that I wouldn't be refunded for a full, untapped keg. I would've kept the keg if I had known. I feel as though $150 has been stolen from me. 2nd star is for MJ because she was sweet. read more

I've coming to this store once in awhile for the past year and it's been a hit or miss on service. I went in recently this month and a worker with glasses had an uncalled for attitude. First off, no one will greet you upon entering the store. I was asking for help to find something, and the worker acted like it was a the worse chore ever just to answer my question. Almost as if I was supposed to know where to find something myself, when I'm not familiar with the store. The worker with glasses was also my cashier, and she was very short with me in terms of our verbal exchange while checking out, which I find very unwelcoming and uncomfortable. There's seems to be a lack of human decency of basic customer service at this store, that's needs drastic improvement. Even a simple a "Hi, how ya doing?" or a common one, "Did you find everything okay?" would make a whole lot of a difference in a customer's experience here. read more

I went into the store today to try and purchase a gift card for my mother's birthday. When I was asked for my ID I asked if I had to be 21 and I was answered with a rude "yup for everything in the store" like I should have known that and was inconveniencing the employee. If that's the policy of the store I understand that but the employee does not need to answer in a way where I felt like he thought I was trying to find a loophole to buy alcohol underage when in reality I was just trying to make my moms day special! read more

The staff up front are not helpful at all. Went to pick up a keg and they told me to go look in the refrigerator in the back and pointed in the direction. Had to find my own cart and attempt to get the keg on it by myself. When returning the keg I asked where to return- the guy didn't even look up from his phone and simply mumbled 'the register'. Cashiers were very friendly! Not so sure about the men on their pedestals when you walk in- terrible first impressions! read more

I'm disappointed in the professionalism in this store. Upon walking in you get glaring workers unwilling to help or give a proper greeting. One particular worker at the POS system named Carrisa failed her duties miserably as a representative of this company. Before checking out I was using the wine cooling system up front while Carrisa was frowning at me. It was quite uncomfortable and disrespectful. Finishing up I looked around for paper towels to dry off my 2 bottles of wine to clean off the area out of respect for this establishment. The same worker yelled at me saying "TOWEL, TOWEL, TOWEL!" and was unable to efficiently communicate her frustrations. Checking out reviewing my ID, she noticed my military Affiliation and became even more aggressive. Carrisa yelled "HURRY UP PUT YOUR CARD IN!" rushing me while pulling out my wallet. I was then aggressively given my two bottles of wine. I walked away with disbelief that someone actually hired this employee. Overall, I guess service members aren't liked here, although the 7 Daughters wine Mascato was a fair price and quite tasty with subtle notes of sweetness. read more

If customer service is important to you, I'd say skip this location. Called this evening to inquire about whether a particular wine was in stock and I was placed on hold for more than 15 minutes. Chalked it up to perhaps being forgotten. Hung up and called back. My call was answered by a different sales associate who didn't greet me but instead just placed me right back on hold. The wine I was looking for is quite expensive and if it had been in stock I would've headed right over and bought more than one bottle. But if they can't be bothered to take my call I'll just take my business elsewhere. read more

Thank you the convenient and safe pickup! We ordered and paid for a mixed case of organic wines and some beer online and pulled into a designated pickup spot the next morning. Just minutes after texting our arrival and location, a masked employee brought out our order and loaded our vehicle. Sad there has been no improvement, as they have such a great selection and amazing prices - however every single time we visit, everyone seems so sad to work there. I don't think I've seen such low morale in a very long time. Never any greetings or has anyone offered any assistance to locate something. If you find someone, they will assist, but seems painful.
