    Aldi in Fort Mill SC
    Bruce K.

Inexpensive food shopping of brands that you've probably never heard of. If you're looking to save money and not shop at the nearby Wally World, then you'll likely be here at Aldi where they trim costs by getting you to put in a 25 cent deposit for a shopping cart and you'll be bagging your own groceries in your own bags. There's nothing wrong with that! Groceries, dairy, some meats, some deli, lots of frozen. You'll not find more than one or two choices of brands in each item, but I've been fine with the quality overall. Speedy shop, slow check out. They're not big on staffing of the registers at Aldi. That's part of how they keep costs down. Remember to bring a quarter and remember to bring your own shopping bags!

No phone number to call store. Freezers have been broken for several weeks. Can't call to find out if they're fixed. Very unhappy.

The staff at this store is helpful, cure, courteous, and very efficient. The store is always clean and being restocked consistently.

OK, I'll just say we had "da** fine" meals. Fresh, seasonal ingredients combined in some unique and surprising ways, beautifully prepared and so, so delicious. Just look at the photos of a selection of our dishes. This was well worth an update of my earlier review. First, Speckled Pear has removed the community seating and the prepared food, bakery and produce counters from my earlier visits and replaced them with true "restaurant" tables. The focus is now squarely on dining, with lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch service. And oh, there's still a wine bar and bottles are still available for purchase. In my humble view a significant positive step. Our servers were excellent, including helpfully explaining some of the wine options (my wife and sister-in-law ordered a flight). Still a fairly casual environment. Great acoustics- I hate echo chambers. We sat close to other guests but were able to easily talk among ourselves without hearing any extraneous neighbor conversations. Dare I say, Speckled Pear is now a {insert tire company name} star-quality dining experience. In Fort Mill! PS - It's a small restaurant which filled quickly and early on the weekday we visited. Reservations are recommended.

Really unique bites to eat, with a thoughtful combination of flavors and ingredients. It's a small spot with intentional design choices and a communal table. Outside of the incredible food, the service really stood out! They have a really kind, and knowledgeable team. We were also lucky enough to meet the chef who with his wife started the restaurant just about a year ago. They're just as warm as the rest of their team! Really looking forward to going back next time we're in Charlotte.

Every corner seems to open into another stretch of South Asian staples and comforts, the sort of selection that makes you realize how limited most other grocery stores really are. You get the big bags of rice stacked with that quiet confidence that comes from high turnover, the boxes and boxes of spices that hit you with that warm, earthy scent the moment you walk past, and a produce section that feels genuinely fresh rather than obligatory. The cut‑to‑order halal butcher is one of those rare touches that tells you they're serving a real community, not just filling space, and the frozen aisle runs long enough that you can lose a few minutes just scanning through all the breads, snacks, and ready‑to‑cook meals. It's one of those stores where you keep thinking you've reached the end of the offerings only to find another shelf of sauces or lentils or sweets waiting for you, and by the time you leave you realize they really do have simply everything. We also tried the Cuban pupusa, which wasn't our favorite dish, needed something, but still good. The mushroom ravioli was rich, flavorful, and something I'd definitely order again. It can get quite busy and loud, so it's not the best place for an intimate conversation, and reservations can sometimes be difficult to get. That said, it's absolutely worth it. The menu changes regularly, so I try to visit whenever they announce a new one. Yesterday, we shared several small plates. The bacon-wrapped dates were phenomenal. I almost ordered a second serving before realizing we still had four other dishes coming! The chicken and waffles definitely satisfied my craving--crispy, savory, and full of flavor. The mushroom ravioli was also outstanding. We finished with the stuffed calamari, which reminded me of something my mom used to make when I was younger. It wasn't Asian-inspired like hers, but the concept brought back some wonderful memories. To top it all off, I enjoyed a delicious dessert while feeling pleasantly tipsy from the evening. I'd call that a win!
