Ok so I have never written a review on a grocery store, but since moving to Summerville I have become a devoted customer of this Harris Teeter. The store is always clean, the staff is always friendly and I can get a Starbucks when I walk in! They have an outstanding selection of produce. Each time I go it seems they are adding more and more gluten free options which helps me out! The best part, we earn fuel points so that I can save on gas!!! Now I'm not sure about all of you, but I love saving money! The only way I would stop shopping here is if they put a Kroger or an HEB near by as I think they are the only 2 stores that may have a bit of an edge! read more

We should have come here first, always looks clean and well stocked Like all other HT this place has everything and don't mind to drive all the way there since the new store in Nexton won't come till 2024 Parking lot is limited because they have to share with a lot of other small businesses. Great shop this evening at this Teeter, which is definitely open 24 hours. It was almost like we were the only ones in here at 11pm. We also made the important decision of having a full meal before doing our shop and that really helped us make better choices. The store is bright, clean and very well stocked. Everything from dairy to wine/beer to cheese was tidy and nicely leveled. Prices are clearly displayed and while they're higher than average, Teeter is solid for quality and a positive shopping experience. This grocery store is pretty good. The prices are competitive and they are open 24 hours a day for convenience. This location has a Starbucks cafe located inside, a really nice salad bar, an Asian food bar and an area where freshly baked pizza slices or pies can be purchased. Overall I'm satisfied with the prices and product availability however, the produce area is often out of items or the items that are available seem as if they have reached their maximum shelf life. (Cucumbers, Limes, Avacados) Aside from that it's a pretty good place to shop. FYI Asian Food Bar $ 8.99 per lb and Salad bar $ 6.99 per lb. read more

My mom shops here, I'm from out of town so I don't really shop here but I will whenever I'm visiting. I walked by and overheard a conversation between a customer and an employee, he was so nice to the older gentleman. I think his name was Jon wearing black sunglasses, he was bringing back the assisted shopping cart and offered to help the customer anytime he was there, very personable and sincere. He even said hello to me as I walked by which was really nice to be acknowledged. It inspired me to go inside and tell a manager, I hope he gets recognition for being such a good person. read more

This Harris Teeter location is one of the newer ones in the Charleston area, and Summerville is grateful for it. I've been a Harris Teeter shopper for a long time and frequent other stores in the area due to location, but I love shopping at this store because I always have a top-notch experience. The aisles are clean and large, the store is brightly lit and laid out nicely. There's a Starbucks as well as many self checkout lanes. Unlike some of the other Harris Teeter stores, this store offers a hot bar and a trail mix bar. The salad bar and hot bar are usually well stocked, clean, and the food looks delicious. There's a pizza station as well as the usual deli, bakery, etc. Like all Harris Teeter stores, the customer service is great and they happily accept (and double) coupons. The store has plenty of parking and is convenient to Bacon's Bridge Rd. and Old Trolley, and not far from Downtown Summerville. It's by far my favorite place to shop for groceries in Summerville! read more

Harris Teeter is a nice grocery store. I pop in on occasion--I don't get my groceries here. It's always clean and organized. I do think the prices are higher than other grocery stores in the area. The produce department is large! They even have a good amount of organic items. The meat/seafood selection is good. It always looks extra fresh. I love their floral department. The flowers always look so bright and vibrant. I love their donuts from Saffron Cafe and Bakery, which is downtown and they are only $1. They offer a great variety of wine and beer. They have a good variety of on-the-go items...fresh sushi, pizza, subs, chicken. I like the salad bar--there's a variety of items and it's always clean. They even have a trail mix station! The Starbucks is a plus. Sometimes there can be a lack of registers open. read more

About two months ago I bought 2 gallons of spring water Harris Teeter brand. I took this water home filled up the feral cat bowl with it and throughout the day drank a little. I began to notice my mouth felt funny and had a coating that wouldn't go away. I brushed my teeth and gargled and just felt awful. Then I noticed the feral cats were not touching the water in their bowl. I had water testing equipment so I used it on this bottle of water, labeled as spring water by Harris Teeter. It came up with enough chlorine to fill a pool and enough nitrates to choke a horse. I called the store and spoke with the manager who asked me to please bring the water back and they would send it to corporate and have it tested. I did that. Corporate then called me and questioned me about it and said they would test it and call me soon. I asked him if they were going to remove the water from the shelves. They said no since I was the only complainer. So the water was there for everyone else to experience what I had and drink chlorine instead of spring water. I've called them twice and they will not even speak to me about it and have not removed this Tainted water from their shelves. I fully intend to go in and make a video about it and put it on YouTube and TikTok and anywhere else that I can put it. I will never shop at Harris Teeter store again. They allowed poison to be put On their shelves for sale and they know about it If they do this with springwater what else do they do it with? They tried to blame the manufacturer and said it was a vendor it wasn't them. So they know what they're doing. They just don't care. read more

Harris Teeter is now refreezing the seafood and when you buy it (You must cook it or throw it away the next day)! I got some shrimp and I just want to say that you must clean this shrimp (Do Not) just boil it! Especially the pink Argentina shrimp. Oh, I did contact them a week ago concerning the dung ness crab and 12 Argentina shrimps I got! It doesn't smell but once you eat it, you can taste it and it's soft! I've been going to this Harris Teeter literally since it opened in a retrofitted Piggly-Wiggly. I drive 23 miles and pass three other grocers on the way. Not after today! The quality of products and customer service have declined so dramatically, I've been wondering why I'm still loyal. Today was the end. I found FIVE expired jars of Duke's Mayo on the shelf. The worst, which expired seven months ago, looked like someone had vomited in the jar--oily, discolored, fat separating. Trying to be helpful and with ZERO attitude, I took them to the customer service desk. The clerk was so rude. No apology, no "Thanks for bringing this to our attention," just hair-flipping attitude and these words: "Well, how many are still on the shelf?" What? "I don't know, I brought you all I could carry," I said, mystified as to my role in H-T inventory. She leaned forward and said, "WHAT I AM ASKING YOU IS ARE THER ANY MORE EXPIRED JARS ON THE SHELF." I replied, "I don't know. Maybe somebody here could do their job and check on that!" Then I photographed the nasty expired jars of mayo. She was angry--rolling eyes, flared nostrils--but not as angry as I was. I went through checkout and paid for my other groceries, but I will never set foot in this store again. I've posted this review and photo on every social media platform I can think of. I expect to be treated with courtesy and respect when I'm spending my money. Goodbye, H-T, and hello, Publix! They have a wide variety of hot food options like pizza as well as a salad bar if you need a quick meal or want to stop in for lunch. However, when I go out of the way and pass Publix and drive close to thirty minutes on a weekend to get groceries and there is three registers open.....really? The place was packed. A great grocery store. I place an order for three pizzas for our Girl Scout Leader meeting. I placed the order online for pick up. Not only was it ready right in time but the gentleman in charge also gave me plates and napkins to go along with the pizza. I really like shopping at Harris Teeter on Bacons Bridge Road in Summerville. This location is very convenient to just about everywhere in Summerville and it is easy to get in and out of with the shopping center having its own traffic light. The store is very well run and managed and you can find exactly what you are looking for very easily. The store is well stocked and clean and provides an excellent and consistent shopping experience that is much different from a lot of stores in Summerville. I really like the deli and produce section here as they seem to stand out and provide some tasty and delicious food. I don't frequent this store often but whenever I am looking for rare products such as vegan meats, vegan frozen foods, or fruits that I can not normally find in stores such as Walmart or Food Lion, etc. I end up here. Staff is always friendly than most grocery stores I shop in. Fruits are always in good condition and cleansed more than most stores. I normally buy fresh cilantro and find them to be with very little to no sand on them, making them easier to clean. Avocados are always ripe enough to select whereas in many other stores I've found them to be super hard. You can also find a better selection of spices, sauces, and seasonings. read more

I stopped in here with my daughter to check out the produce section. It is soooo amazing compared to other places I shop. While it can be overpriced, they had what I was looking for (berries) on sale and they were the same price as they would be other places...though these were fresh looking and weren't moldy. The real reason for the 5 stars though was because as I was driving out of the parking lot, I noticed an elderly lady that I had seen leaving another store in the shopping center earlier wondering around the parking lot. She looked confused to me so I parked the car and got out to talk to her. I finally caught up to her near the front of Harris Teeter and asked her if she was okay because I'd see her walking all through the lot. She told me she was lost and had dementia. A manager from Harris Teeter (I believe her name was Stephanie) happened to be outside so I called her over and we got the lady's name and some info from her so we could try to locate who she was with and where she had come from. She had been at another store so the manager stayed with her while I ran over there and had them make an announcement. When I got back, the manager from HT went inside and made an announcement. It turned out the lady had likely been left there by someone so the manager called law enforcement. I was really impressed with the way the manager handled the situation and am glad she had the same concern that I did for this lady. read more

I love Harris Teeter. This location is good for me. I love the salad and Asian Bar. My permanent home is in Charlotte and I must admit this bar is better. Came by one morning to view what items they had on the breakfast bar, but realized this area is not set up for one. I know they have one in Reston, Va. and its great. What I most love about this store is the seafood section. During Lent I fast and I eat only fish/seafood. The seafood is fresh. Some items are a bit pricey however I wait to see if there are sales. I love Harris Teeter. We have been using their online ordering service for about a year and a half now and its wonderful. I use their app and/or website to order my groceries as I think of them. When I have everything I need in the cart I go ahead and place the order. That eveing or the next morning (depending on order time) my groceries are completely collected and bagged. All I have to do is pull up, push the button and they bring them to my car. On top of that, Harris Teeter has, hands down, the best customer service of any grocery store I've ever shopped with. They give us discounts if we have to wait very long, throw in extra goodies just to thank us for our business and have even given us free groceries to make up for their mistakes. read more

Great place to shop. It has an upscale market feel to it and lots of variety. I'm a cheese fanatic and they have the best selection of cheeses around. I also get most of my meat there, as it's always fresh and looks better than most grocery stores.
