A young guy named Ski followed us around in a cart playing loud music and getting drunk, flirting with the cart lady, and arguing with my friend about club selection. For example, Ski insisted my friend lay up on par 5 second shot from 220 yards rather than go for the green. He did not clean our clubs or balls. He did not rake the trap after sand shots. He was highly unprofessional, more of a nuisance than a helpful caddy. At the end of the round he harassed us for not giving him a big enough tip. I'm also pretty sure he took my $550 Bushnell rangefinder (that had my name and phone number on it) that I had attached to my cart. Skip the forecaddie at Payne's Valley and enjoy an incredible golf experience.

Wild Bills was recommended to me and the rental and floating experience was seamless. I rented a kayak for the 10 mile float. It was late June and the water was perfect and the float was scenic. John provided a bronco busting bus ride to the river. The people at the shop were friendly and helpful. Kayak rental was $69 plus tax. But they do provide a 30 minute bus ride to the drop off to save you the trouble of running cars.

The man behind the counter told us that we may have to, drag our canoe through a couple of spots but no big deal. After setting up camp in Buffalo point campground and actually taking a look at the river and seeing people come off the river, everyone was dragging canoes and Buffalo point, most of the river was just simply ankle deep, we would've had to drag a canoe for miles through slippery rocks to get to the destination for pick up. So one of two things happened, the owners of wild Bill outfitter do not know the river conditions or they did not tell us the truth. So unfortunate. Needless to say, we did not show up the next morning bright and early to rent anything. I felt like I dodged a $100 bullet of frustration by not renting from these people. And I would not recommend wild bills outfitter for river conditions, information, go look for yourself.

Then we drove around a little and found parking areas at campsites close to the river so we could get other views. The ranger did tell us that we could get more places if we had 4WD. We stayed mostly in the middle and lower sections. I wish we'd gone at night for the night sky but wasn't aware of it at the time and needed to move on to our next destination. We will be back in the future to enjoy more of the river and the park.

And today, I'm writing this review solely based on the drive down to Triple (aka Twin) Falls. If you are not into a long hike (2 miles+ one way), then this is definitely the one for you. To see the waterfall, you'll only need to take a very short hike from the trailhead (although driving down there is very winding and steep so there is even a road sign that says, "Cool your brakes" on the way.) Going back to the hike part, if you want to go up to the top of the waterfall however, you'll need to hike another 0.25 miles from the bottom but it's definitely doable even if you absolutely hate to hike/walk! The exact date of the hike was today (Wednesday, April 20, 2022). It had been raining on and off all day so the trail was muddy. But in my opinion, the rain made the whole experience so mystic, mysterious, and very green with abundance of water spouting out from the top of it. The water was, surprisingly, not so muddy. We took the time to explore the area for at least an 1.5 hours. Interestingly, not a single soul came and went during the whole duration of our visit; we had the whole area to ourselves. The area was so picturesque. It's definitely a great place for a meditation to empty your mind. You'll also have so many spots to take beautiful pictures from so many different angles. I HIGHLY recommend this place for waterfall chasers!!

We have been staying at this place before the current owners (Rick & Connie Balsley) had bought it. We have never cancelled without the proper notification and missed (3) years in all of the 15+ years we have stayed there. One year we went to California to visit relatives and the last 2 years we missed because our son is in all year round college and his 1 week summer break did not line up with when everyone from our family was down there. We gave Connie the proper notice and in all actuality greater notice that they request. Connie agreed to roll our deposit since we would be back in 2019 and we moved forward. Well, today we received a letter she and Rick sent stating that they were not going to keep their word and sent back our deposit. These people are untruthful and passive aggressive. There are many other places on Table Rock Lake to stay at and you would be better served to go check them out. The letter they sent was incorrect stating we missed 3 years in a row as we only missed 2 due to our son's college break. I find it sad they can't spell my wife's name after going there for over 10+ years with them as owners . Payne's Valley is named after the late three-time major winner Payne Stewart who was born in Springfield, Missouri. Have you ever seen the 1989 Fred Savage movie The Wizard? It was just one big advertisement for Nintendo disguised as a movie. Well, the Payne's Valley Cup, broadcast live and on repeat on Golf Channel, was just one big advertisement for Tiger's new course. Payne's Valley is the first TGR Design (Tiger's golf course design company) in the US that is open for public play. It looks amazing. The Payne's Valley Cup worked because when I looked for tee times the day after the event, the website said: "Due to extreme demand, we are experiencing intermittent technical difficulties. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please note: Although our call center is open, our call volume is at a record high. Wait times are significantly longer than normal. We apologize for the inconvenience!" In October, 18 holes at Payne's Valley cost $225 to play. In November and December, $195. This event wasn't a complete money-grab though. It raised money for the Payne Stewart Family Foundation which, according to its website, "primarily assists with programs that allow children and youth to have new opportunities to experience the joy of the Christian life." Beneficiaries include Kids Across America (benefitting urban and minority children), the AJGA (American Junior Golf Association), and the Heart of the Ozarks Junior Golf Foundation (increasing access to golf for elementary school kids in Springfield). This was an exhibition match reminiscent of other made-for-TV charity golf matches from earlier this year, both in May: TaylorMade Driving Relief (Rickie Fowler, Dustin Johnson, Rory McIlroy, Matthew Wolff) and Capital One's The Match: Champions for Charity (Tiger Woods, Peyton Manning, Phil Mickelson, Tom Brady). There were unconventional camera angles, golf carts, drone shots, and the players were mic'd up. At best, it was as entertaining as your average televised Tour event. Fans were allowed, which I thought was interesting considering no Tour event has allowed fans up to this point, due to COVID-19. Note: This was not an official Tour event. Tiger Woods and Justin Thomas, who represented America, beat Rory McIlroy and Justin Rose, who represented Europe.
