I have been using Schutz for 10 years, since they replaced my Amana furnace & AC unit with a Trane…read moreHVAC system in 2013. That is old news, but the service and support they provided my just before Christmas 2022 was significantly above and beyond normal expectations. Long story short, I had Schutz install a hot water heater in 2021. It failed less than a year later. Schutz was out within 24 hours and serviced it without charge. A month later , the heater failed again. They responded and we all concurred the tank needed to be replaced. The manufactured disagreed. Shutz worked with me, especially Nicole, and supported the claim and by installing a new heater without labor charge until resolution was made. The whole ordeal consumed 3-4 days of labor and office time just before a snow storm and Christmas Eve. The tank resolution took a bit longer. I cannot say enough for the Schutz staff, techs, and owner that supported me during this period. I would highly recommend their services.

Hard no. The first time when they were out we made the mistake of paying the technician with cash…read more Schutz tried to collect on that afterwards. We called the technician and asked him to reconcile with the office and he agreed to. Second occurrence: they were out last ....... October 2025, and we paid with a credit card. I just got an email (July 2026) stating we owed them money! Still no. The $525.85 payment on my bank statement says you're paid in full, Schutz. I tried calling several times yesterday and always got the answering service. My guess is they have unethical accounting practices and/or a glitch in their system. Either way, we won't do business with them.

She fit me into schedule quickly. Shane showed up on time and in 15 minutes found the issue. Took an hour to unclog the defrost line, a common problem. Shane was awesome, highly recommended. They are now my "go to" for appliance repair. He even suggested brands and models in case I need to buy new. For now my 25 year old GE is running great. Thank you. Jay P, Highland, MI

I heard long ago that an old trick is to gain your trust by pointing at rust at the bottom of the…read moreheat exchanger and frighten you into believing that it's leaking carbon monoxide and that your family will die tonight. Kreitz played that game right to the letter. What's actually occurring is (according to three trusted sources) that your A/C got low on freon, this causes water to condense and freeze. When the freon is fixed, the ice melts, which causes a little rust, and it's all perfectly harmless. He also needed a week to replace my furnace (it was 40 years old). I looked up his business address on Google Maps/Street View (try it). I tried repeatedly for four days to speak to someone about cancelling my appointment but could never get anyone to answer the phone. Worst of all, the old man's son was tagging along, so he's being taught this scheme. If we hadn't had to wait so long, or if he would have just loaned us a small space heater to get us through the cold nights, we might have had Kreitz do the job. Instead, I went to Home Depot to buy a heater. While I was there, a contractor happened to ask me as I was walking by, "Would you like a quote on a furnace?" Instead of a one-man home-based operation, I dealt with a large professional state-wide organization. The whole thing was over in less than 48 hours and on a Saturday. I paid more there. But the fact is I need reliable, long-term support and satisfaction for decades to come, not a lowball price. And a reliable furnace. And they gave me a very nice Nest thermostat.
