I don't understand these positive reviews. I paid this company $100 to do an inspection. The kid (and I do mean kid) that came out was able to show me on his tablet that the refrigerant in my central A/C unit is slightly below what would be considered a "good" level. I explained to him that my unit occasionally turns off and then back on in very short intervals. He wasn't able to offer any thoughts as to why that might be happening other than my unit is old. Fast forward 2 weeks. Today, I had a different company come out. Within 30 seconds of him taking off the same exact shield on the back of my A/C unit, he saw a frayed wire. Within 5 minutes he had replaced the wire and the problem was solved. One would think that the kid from Comfort Zone would have noticed it. The guy who was here today showed me the wire, it was RIGHT in front of exactly where the Comfort Zone kid hooked up the same diagnostic tools. If I'm paying to have my unit inspected, I'd think a company is actually INSPECTING the unit. I'm tempted to report this to the BBB. What a complete and utter rip off!!! read more

After installation service is not what one would expect after spending all that money on a new system. It was like fighting a battle to get them to fix an install that wasn't done correctly. My water heater stopped working on the 4th of July and I called Comfort Zone the next morning expecting to leave a voicemail being the day after the 4th. Not only did they answer, they had someone out a few hours later installing a new water heater!! I called to set up an appointment for an estimate for a replacement A/C for my failing twenty year old unit. Comfort zone was able to get me scheduled for the next day, but about an hour later, Frank, one of their technicians, said he had finished a job in my area and was nearby and offered to swing by. He was extremely nice, professional (covered his boots with plastic covers), and there was no "hard sell" involved. Mill Gorkes came out to inspect our AC after high winds pushed the outside unit over several inches. He inspected all the lines and re-secured the insulation. Inside he cleaned the condensation pump line and tested the units operation. He was on time, polite, educated me on the operation of the unit and talked about the various things he was looking for during the inspection. Our furnace was not working properly in January, and couldn't continue running, and the temperature dropped to about 66 degrees. We called Family Heating and they couldn't get us on their schedule for about 10 days. So we called Comfort Zone and they sent a service staff member within hours. He serviced the furnace and got it up and running promptly. He found that we needed a new inducer motor, a very expensive fix. He reported that a replacement motor was on back order from the manufacturer, but couldn't determine how soon one would become available. The quote including new pressure switches, would be $1,985 for having the new motor and switches if and when the motor would be available. He offered a new furnace as an option, with a cost of just under $5,000. So we called Family Heating the next day and told them what the diagnoses and options that were offered. They came out the next day and agreed that the inducer motor needed to be replaced. However, their price for install of that motor was $1,015., also with the caveat that the motor was on backorder and they didn't know when they would get one. They didn't believe the pressure switches needed replacement. Within 8 days they got a new inducer motor and replaced it for us, and the furnace is running back to normal. read more

Sure enough the second hottest day of the year our A/C goes out. Called Comfort Zone but they said they couldn't come out until between 3 and 7 the next day unless an opening came up. Less than an hour passed and i got a text from them saying could be out that day in half an hour. The tech named Frank called me to let me know he was in his way. He was able to easily diagnose the problem and presented me with 4 options to remedy the situation. He had the parts i needed and we were back up and running the A/C within the hour. They warranty the parts for a year and the service call amount was applied to the total. I will definitely use them again for any heating or cooling needs. read more

Our AC was acting up on a 97 degree day. It would turn on, but the air wasn't very cold. I called Comfort Zone at 6:30AM and left a message. They called back in 30 minutes and Frank was at my house before 8:00AM. He discovered a safety switch for the compressor had tripped. He pushed a button and fixed it. He determined that a voltage drop on a capacitor was the root cause and replaced it with one he had in his truck. He didn't try to over sell anything even though my system in 28 years old. We have a really old furnace - 32 years. We have been in the house less than a year and it is already failing (of course). Our home warranty company sent a technician out and he left upset because he didn't know how to work on a system like ours. I then had to find a new company on my own to diagnose the situation and Comfort Zone came out SAME DAY! They were so nice and helpful. The system was a challenge - they were able to diagnose multiple issues and even JUMP START the furnace so we had through the night while we waited for the home warranty company to respond. This company was great to work with!!! After one of my rental homes lost heat, I call the company I had used for all of my 15 rental homes (Family Heating Cooling ). They told me that they were booking out for 3weeks. I explained it was an emergency and they told me they had no "emergency" service. Considering the furnace wasn't working at all and the home was occupied ,I needed to get service asap. I contacted Comfort Zone Heating and Cooling. While I had never done business with this company before, after explaining the situation to Fred the owner he said he could help out...Although he had no openings for the day,, considering the situation, he made an exception and was out there within 2hours. Apparently a fan needed replacement but considering the age of the furnace and cost of the part the recommendation was to replace. He at no time was high pressure just made me aware of all my options. After considering all the variables we made the decision to replace. He and his crew came out within 3 days and completely replace the heating system. They were on time ...well groomed ... polite and very professional. They had the job done in 4hrs as promised. HVAC Tech, Mill took time to explain the operation of the system and answered any questions we may of had. It was one of the best experiences we have ever had dealing with a service company.
