Change is always a bit uncertain, especially when it comes to a dentist you've trusted for so long. Since then, I honestly can't say enough good things about Dr. Agia and his staff. My kids recently had fillings done by Dr. Agia and experienced absolutely no discomfort. It's helping build a lifetime of positive feelings about going to the dentist, which every parent hopes for. My own recent experience was just as impressive. I chipped my front tooth pretty badly and was convinced I would need significant cosmetic work. I called the office in tears, and they got me in the very next day. Dr. Agia and his incredibly talented assistant, Natalia, repaired it with bonding, and it actually looks better than my original tooth. The result was completely seamless. You would never know it had been chipped. One thing I appreciate most is Dr. Agia's transparency. He always takes the time to explain my options rather than pushing unnecessary treatment. As a patient, that kind of honesty is incredibly valuable. I also want to recognize Irina at the front desk. She has been amazing with scheduling and especially with navigating insurance. At checkout I specifically and clearly requested to pay the full charges and be reimbursed by my insurance, asking that NO assignment of benefits be made (nothing entered on the assignment line of the claim). The woman who checked me out did not respond to my request except to smile and nod her head. She told me I owed $292 which I paid without question (I should have known it was too low to be the total). There was no indication that she didn't understand or could not honor my request. I confirmed they were filing electronically and asked for a copy of the claim. I found she had assigned benefits to their office and I had paid only my portion. The total was over $500. This was in direct opposition to my request with no explanation. That was on 4/10/26. To date, 5/18, the claim still has not been filed with my insurance company. Secondly, I requested that my records be sent to my out-of-state dentist of 20 yrs as I wanted them to have all my records. I filled out an authorization form, gave it to Millie at the front desk in person, but nothing was sent. When I called to find out why no records were sent, she denied I had personally handed the form to her the previous day! This was absolutely untrue and I was stunned. She claimed she did not have it and I had to fill out another form. Then they only sent the pdf of my x-rays, not the preferred digital images, and without the treatment plan. The claim filing error and Millie denying I gave her the authorization form are Issues that do not generate trust. I have never had such an experience at any dental or medical office before. They don't seem to have anyone in charge, such as an office manager, although they have 8 or 9 people at the front desk. I will have to decide whether to continue with this practice.

After an online search of local dentists, I conceded to take my wife's suggestion to use Sattler Family Dentistry. I took that leap of faith and my dental health and experience are the better for it. My first point of contact was with the courteous and welcoming office staff who pointed me to an online dental history questionnaire that helped to streamline my initial visit. I then met with Chris who took a comprehensive set of X-rays, probed my mouth extensively, and in conjunction with Dr. Bui, came up with a stepwise scheduled dental plan to correct all concerns found. Chris recommended that I undergo a scaling and root planing process which I was previously unfamiliar with. She took all the time necessary to explain her rationale, what the procedure entailed, and answered all of my questions with patience and implicit expertise. She even conceded that I could go anywhere else I felt comfortable going to but by this point I knew I was coming back to Sattler. I was then introduced to the very cordial Dr. Bui who discussed the plan with me and further allayed concerns. He put a face on the modern techniques that this office would be employing. Chris came across as an extraordinary hygienist and periodontal provider with a sincere concern for her patient's wellbeing. Next, the very professional office staff mapped out my plan, interfaced with my insurance company, and laid out my out of pocket and covered costs. Two appointments were made for the scaling and root planing process. Being somewhat dental phobic, I was concerned about any extended pain but I was pleasantly impressed that I felt no discomfort during the procedure, which involved significant digging, nor did I experience any pain once the anesthetic wore off. Likewise for the second visit to complete this phase of treatment.. I still have a few more appointments to address the dental plan originally prescribed, and actually look forward to them. To date, I can say that this is an excellent dental and periodontal practice that I am glad to have discovered. From the office staff to the dental providers, this is a well-run practice that instills confidence and assurance in what they do.
