On another visit, I was lured into a back room for a tequila tasting. Not liking, I tried to decline, but was convinced to give them a try - and I was not disappointed. Also, I like how at the front of the store they have racks of "airplane bottles" - small "samplers" that you can buy to try out various products. Again - I like this idea. It was a way for me to try peanut butter whiskey without sinking too much into a larger bottle... So yeah - they're the big guy on the block, but I like the service they provide, and the deals that I get. I would LOVE it if they were able to track down a bottle of Thomas Tew rum. Everything is a little more expensive than the grocery store, but this is a small independent business, so that is to be expected. For people who want to keep their money local, it is a very small price to pay (literally, a couple of dollars here or there). The aisles are narrow and the bottles are right on the edges of the shelves, which makes my clumsy self nervous, but they just had lots of booze. Not as big as the liquor warehouse on the west side of town, more like what you'd expect a regular grocery store to have. I have only been in here a handful of times, but the person behind the counter has been *very* nice and courteous (unlike the liquor place I mentioned earlier). They did end up remaking my sandwich and it was served to me with two slices of cold cheese that hadn't melted yet on the sandwich. Our appetizer pretzel was good but didn't have any salt? Is this normal? Seems odd for a pretzel... My partner ordered the CBR wrap with Buffalo sauce and a side sauce of garlic Parmesan aioli. His sandwich came with no Buffalo sauce and he thought his garlic Parmesan aioli lacked flavor but when I tasted I realized they gave him avocado aioli instead. The fact so much went wrong with the meal had us scratching our heads - was this a kitchen mistake or had our server just totally mis-entered so much of our meal into the system? She did action the changes but seemed confused at first for how to solve my partners no Buffalo sauce request. As a previous server it would have been a no brainer for immediately getting my customer what they originally asked for. The food tasted great, but all around was such a poor experience we won't return. It felt like with all the mistakes there was no sincere apology on the servers end, just a shrug and "oopsies" mentality.
