Service is horrible! The food on the buffet table appeared old and cold! The restaurant is dirty with trash overflowing in the dining area and both employees who work the drive thru and front do nothing for this establishment! The employees don't wear gloves, play in their dreads and braids, collect money AND prepares the food! We walked in around 7:35pm and didn't receive our food until after 8pm. We were advised it would be 15 minutes for legs, but it took longer and the two batches of chicken that was freshly fried was given to drive thru customers. When questioned, I was informed no one else ordered legs, not even the few customers that came in after us! Again, horrible service! When did Crocs become appropriate for work shoes!! Nat is the manager and he informed me the owners want the restaurant ran the way it's run. He's doing 3/4 jobs and cannot control his employees. He's overwhelmed, overworked and can't do anything about complaints. These responses are called excuses, I was sure to let Nat know that. placed a order through the drive-through for half liver and half gizzards and drove off not thinking I should checked my food. minutes later I noticed the food was fried in old grease and I got mostly liver. I elected to go back to the store, when I got there I spoke with JOHN probably isnt his name, l informed him I got more liver than gizzard when JOHN stated out " YOU ATE MOST OF THEM" my mouth dropped to the floor. The food was horrible. Greasy and tasteless besides all the oil. Ordered okra. It was old and looked like it was dipped back in the oil just to give the illusion that it was fresh. Gizzards and livers were greasy and had no season. Sent the okra back and it came back greasier and I guess cooked in pepper or something. Won't be back. read more

Just ate again here at Hartz's Chicken buffet. WHAT HAPPENED?? Chicken was dried and over cooked, looked like it was cooked at 9:00 am and was sitting there forever! The legs were so small, not like the opening ones! They looked around 3 inches and hard ! SO MUCH BATTER ,YOU HAVE TO BREAK IT OFF TO GET TO THE WHITE MEAT ! Pinto beans were mushy and had no juices! we have ordered online from this location for 5 months. I called before when I had issues ordering in on line. . Owner answered n said he has never took online orders. he was rude and mocked me. I will never order from here again. this is fresno location very rude man beyond all. Even if he was new owner ; his behavior was arrogant. I was rude back but because I was antagonized. I'm giving this review of three stars based solely on my past visits to Hartz. This location is new and it's getting RIPPED TO SHREDS in our neighborhood community pages. If even half of what is being said is true, they won't be open long because no one is giving positive marks from their experience. From 'long lines', to 'undercooked over floured chicken', to plain old just 'tasteless' have been the main comments. It pains me a bit because I loved Hartz in the past. It was always good and hot and the portions large. To see it take such a beating in the public eye makes me want to say something in hopes that management will see and try to rectify the shortcomings. Despite the bad reviews on the Nextdoor app we decided to give Hartz a try. We lined up on the drive thru at 9:13 PM We checked online and it says closing time was 10 PM. There were about 6 cars ahead of us and the open sign was clearly lit up. Took close to 45min to finally get to the mic at the drive thru and there were like 5 cars behind us still. We tried to order only to be yelled at that they only have one wing and one thigh. We asked again and she rudely replied to hurry ordering because they were closing. Suffice to say we left with nothing and just proceeded to Canes. So we Can't say anything about the chicken but with service like that we're never going back. Sad. read more

This was my first visit to this new location. My intention was to go through the drive thru but the line was really long so I went inside. There was a good amount of people inside also (at 3pm on a Thursday), but it was not over crowded. Most people inside were there for the buffet, I got mine to go. Everyone was friendly, the service was good and the food was very fresh when I made it home. Of course since I was inside I had to see what was on the buffet. There was a large variety of side dish options, chicken and fish. Everything looked fresh, the buffet was clean and everyone there seemed to be enjoying the food. It's a great place to food for the family if you don't have time to cook. Servings are generous and tasty. The servers were very accommodating and pleasant to interact with. It does have a buffet diner type feel, not a whole lot of tables, it's clean and brightly lit. For quick meal it is good place to eat. read more

I would have never given a 1. They deserved a no star rating! Went to this location and ordered a 2 piece dark with fries and a 2 piece white with mash potatoes. I gave the order with the fries assuming that is was dark meat and the sides were switched. I called them to let them know that the orders were wrong and the manager stated I should have just switched the side orders. I stated to her the orders were going to 2 different locations and I don't just go in someone food. She stated you should have told me that. I politely stated why should I told you that it was going to 2 different locations?? I told her I was bringing the order back and want a full refund and she had the nerves to say make sure I bring back the entire order with the drinks. No apology no sorry you have to drive back up here.
