Please keep in mind at the late Geneva area does have weird laws when it comes to liquor so please read up on it before stopping here because I promise you that you're cashier is not trying to screw you over. It's easily the best selection of liquor for miles, including some pretty pricey stuff. On my last visit, I salivated over a few bottles of scotch with three-digit price tags. It would be wasted on me, though. Better to let someone with a more-refined sense of taste buy it. Anyway, in addition to a wide variety of wine, beer, and spirits, there's a decent grocery selection, too. It won't rival Sentry, but given a choice between a huge grocery store with a decent liquor section and a great liquor store with a decent grocery section, I'll choose the second one eight days a week.

He remembers his regular customers and has fascinating stories from his time living in Asia. It's the kind of place where you feel like more than just another transaction. There's also a fair selection of non-alcoholic beers--a thoughtful inclusion we really appreciate, though we'd love to see even more variety in that category as demand continues to grow. The wine selection isn't exotic, but it's clearly curated with the local customer in mind. You'll find quality bottles at fair prices--perfect for everyday sipping or easy gifting. Geneva Liquors is a great example of what a neighborhood liquor store should be: clean, welcoming, well-stocked, and run by someone who truly cares about the community. Stopped in tonight and had one of the worst experiences we've had in a while. Our group of six all…read moreran into the same issue with the bartenders. The brunette bartender wouldn't acknowledge us at all--no eye contact, no response--even when we tried to ask a simple question, just moving on to the next customer. When we finally got to the blonde bartender, the experience didn't improve. She seemed uninterested in helping, rolled her eyes when we asked questions, and was dismissive when my wife asked if her drink could be made less sweet, saying "that's just how it is." I also asked a question about one of their bourbons and was told to go to the store where they could tell me, which didn't make much sense and would have meant starting the whole order process over again. We even overheard another customer mention they'd been dealing with the same attitude all night, so it didn't seem like an isolated incident. This was our second visit. The first time, on a similarly busy Sunday, everything was great--which makes this even more disappointing. Based on this experience, it will likely be our last visit.

The fact that it's dog friendly was even better . I like that you're able to charge by the ounce at this place. There's even food featured here too and a pretty fair price . I tried a few of the hard ciders that were featured here since I've never had that before and I'm basically hooked on their product. Bars like this are just pretty engaging. Ok, so the prices aren't bad... the place is clean... and it's in a "Shopping Center" (some might…read morecall it a strip mall), so if you feel like walking a few feet for something sweet, there's a Dairy Queen just a few feet away. I suppose these could be listed as positive qualities. In general, there's nothing that makes this bar unique and there's a definite generic feel to the beer signs and brewery schwag used to decorate the place. The lighting is too bright for a bar. You want your bar to be a little dark when you're drinking with friends and listening to a band on a Saturday night. Mulligan's lighting was slightly brighter than the dining room of your average Applebee's. All of that could be forgiven if you're able to enjoy doing what you come to a bar to do... drink. I was there Saturday with a group of friends... a group of friends who like to drink. We got there just as the band was about to start playing, went up to the bar to get our first round, and waited... and waited... The band finished their first 3 songs before the bartender finally took our order. The drinks came to about $14. We gave her a $20... she never came back with the change. Assuming that we wanted to give her a 40% tip after having to wait so long was a bit presumptuous. But whatever... we didn't make a big deal about it. Just to clarify - the bar was not that busy and there were 2 bartenders ignoring us. (When another friend paid for a few drinks with a $100 bill, she said, "Do you need change back?" Really?) We went back up for the next round, and again... we waited... and waited... Finally, my friend walked up to a waitress at the wait stand and asked her if she could get us 3 beers. She was super sweet - got our beers - and she got a nice tip. Back a the bar again later, we waited and waited again... finally, when my friend actually waved his arms to get the bartender's attention... she acted startled to see us there. It was as if we had materialized out of thin air and she couldn't believe her eyes! Seriously? As I said before, the overall mediocrity of the bar could totally be overlooked if they compensated with a great staff. The single cocktail waitress and the bar-back were the most attentive members of the staff - they were actually pretty great. But I was there with a group of people who LIKE TO DRINK... yet we all walked out at the end of the night completely sober simply because it took so frustratingly long to order each round. On the plus side, we walked out with a lot more cash in our pockets since we weren't able to spend it at the bar.
