I rarely go in and not find what I am looking for (except at times beers and sometimes wines). That's not a knock... what place provides you with any wine you want? What sets Discount Liquor apart is the knowledge experts in wines. They were voted as 50 best wine stores in America... you have a question, ask and you shall receive. Price is good on most, cheaper than some but the variety is unsurpassed... maybe besides Total Wines. If you can't find something talk to an employee and they will help you with ordering it or find a close replacement. I have been looking for Rombauer Zin and they made a suggestion to go with Truett-Hurst Zin and we agreed, it is a close match. I love how they divide the store and categorize sections and again, you will find it difficult to find a better value and service.

There's also a fair selection of non-alcoholic beers--a thoughtful inclusion we really appreciate, though we'd love to see even more variety in that category as demand continues to grow. The wine selection isn't exotic, but it's clearly curated with the local customer in mind. You'll find quality bottles at fair prices--perfect for everyday sipping or easy gifting. Geneva Liquors is a great example of what a neighborhood liquor store should be: clean, welcoming, well-stocked, and run by someone who truly cares about the community. But - where were the dog bones? It's been awhile since I picked up any. Friendly staff person stopped what she was doing. Was cheerful, chatty, accompanied me to the place where they belong. Oops. Nothing there. No problem! Went to check in back. (How really, really nice.) Returned with an armful of fresh, huge bones that any dog could happily spend hours chewing on. Continued with my shopping. Found everything else I needed (of course.) Picked up (my favorite!) jelly donuts. They may be inexpensive, but Woodman's are the best. Filled up with gas. Lately has been consistently less expensive in Beloit (compared to Rockford). Oh! And the NO FEE ATM. T w o of them no less. That is really considerate. And smart.
