One of the last bars we checked out in the area before we left. This is not really a late night establishment for those that want to bar hop. What I like about this place is that firstly it hosts many sorts of events. We weren't here late at night but we came here the morning after check out some of the vendors being featured here. The fact that it's dog friendly was even better . I like that you're able to charge by the ounce at this place. There's even food featured here too and a pretty fair price . I tried a few of the hard ciders that were featured here since I've never had that before and I'm basically hooked on their product. Bars like this are just pretty engaging. Nice pour yourself taproom located in downtown Lake Geneva. I always love this style of place, where you can try as much as you want of something and not have to pay for a full glass. While most places give you a card that you scan at each tap, this place uses a small fob. Same concept, just different product. Even better, with this one, while they have lots of beer choices, and I got to try 3 new ones, they also have several non beer options to choose from, like ciders and wine and others. Always good to have an option for non beer fans. There was plenty of seating space, both indoor and outdoor. It's located just across the street from Topsy Turvy brewing, so a good 1-2 punch to hit both for craft beer fans in town. read more

Our group stopped by Geneva Tap House around 6:30pm on Saturday, July 5th for a quick drink before dinner. It's a fun, casual spot with a spacious layout--there's seating on the main level, upstairs, and outside as well. The self-serve, pour-your-own system is a great feature. After a quick check-in with the cashier, you're free to sample and pour what you like. The taps offer a wide variety of options, including beer and wine, which was a pleasant surprise! There was live music playing during our visit, adding a really nice touch to the laid-back atmosphere. They also offer snacks for purchase (paid at the cashier). One suggestion: it would be nice to see more non-alcoholic options besides just soda--maybe a craft NA beer or mocktail for those not drinking (like myself). I absolutely LOVE this place! The concept is so great, very different than your usual taphouse or bar. You walk in and get your lanyard and the lowdown. You get to pick your glass and try as many or as few beers or ciders as your heart desires - well, there is a limit on ounces. But, this is such a fun experience. Geneva Taphouse has been on my list of places to check out for a while so we stopped in for a short visit on Saturday. The atmosphere is great; open concept 2-story building with great outdoor patio space. The taps are all along the back wall with a large selection of beer, wine, cider, margaritas and I love the concept of 'try before you buy' an entire drink. They offer sample glasses and trays to hold a 'flight' as well as larger pint glasses once you've found one you like. You receive a key fob upon entry tied to your credit card and pay for what you pour. Everything is labeled great and easy to decipher. The kitchen seemed was busy although we had just eaten so didn't try the food; maybe next time. We couldn't stay long so each of us only tried one sample each; two of us tried their margarita and one had a beer; we did not really like the margarita but again, this is why the place is great that you can try some samples before purchasing a full drink. 10/10. Spectacular establishment. The drinks are AMAZING. Geneva Taphouse is absolutely beautiful and a very fun place to be. The staff members are very knowledgeable, respectful, and kind. The interior design is very well done, and it's very clean there. The drinks are delicious. They have many different types such as mead, wine, seltzers, cider, beer, etc. Nice selection of flavors. You can dispense the drinks on your own into different glasses. They charge you by the oz. You're able to rinse out your glass in between trying different drinks, which was nice. My friend and I came for bingo as they have bingo every Wednesday at 7 pm. We enjoyed playing bingo there. The guy who typically runs it is very nice, too. After bingo, we were able to play bags & sit around the fire pit. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I would recommend the Geneva Taphouse to anyone. What a cool spot. We've only been to one place in the world like this and I'm so glad there's one in Lake Geneva now. With 50 taps to choose from to taste at your leisure, it gives beer/seltzer/wine tasting a new feel. I probably tasted a few ounces of 10 different beers and it was awesome. I never want a lot but love comparing all the different tasting profiles. When you come in, they give you a lanyard with a RFID chip that you wirelessly touch above any tap you're interested in, and it tracks how much you pour (you're able to pour as much or as little of each drink as you'd like). Located in the old Geneva movie theater, this is a super fun spot for yourself, a date night, or a group hangout. They have several TVs to watch the game and lots of great seating both in and outdoors. They also have some snack foods available, and sometimes offer live music. Friendly and fun staff. This was a really fun brewery that we stopped by with friends. The brewery has a fun atmosphere, TVs, and an outdoor area with multiple fire pits and tables with a fire feature. You get a little scanner tag and use it to self serve beer, wine, seltzer or hard cider. Overall it's a really fun experience and the self serve feature makes it extremely enjoyable. This is the most fun addition to downtown Lake Geneva. It's unbelievable that this spot used to be a movie theatre!!! It's so bright and open now, the space is huge with a nice balcony level and awesome patio. I was impressed with the staff. Everyone seemed happy to be at work and excited about the new concept. There are soooo many drink options, mostly beer, but seltzer and wine too. You simply connect your fob to the tap, pour the amount you want and voila, you get to try dozens of options. The fob tracks how much you've poured, only allowing a certain amount per hour, but if you keep your pours small, you can work your way through all of the offerings. The is an excellent way to taste a bunch of midwestern craft breweries in one location. They have cards and games to keep all family members engaged. There is also a small menu if you need snacks. The great: -they have a LOT of great beers on tap, I think it's 50 taps in all, with many local/regional beverages to choose from. -It's a big place, with a large patio, too. -The staff did a nice job explaining how the concept works with a fob to track your drinks and the pour-your-own taps. The not-so-great: -Interesting concept, but I'm not a fan of having to pour my own beers from a tap. I can see how others would like the novelty or convenience, but I prefer someone who is experienced in properly pouring from a tap to do so. I saw a few people frustrated by how much foam they were getting because of how they were pouring/holding their glass. -This doesn't seem very sanitary to have all the customers touching the taps and spreading their germs. Yes, they have hand sanitizer available, but aside from myself, I saw no other customers using the hand sanitizer. read more

I have had the pleasure of stopping in here twice this year with my chihuahua, Shooter. The first time I had a couple hours to kill while I waited for my room at the grand Geneva to be ready. I tried a couple different beers but tried to take it slow since I was driving. There had been a rainstorm earlier but they opened up the doors and wiped down some spots on the patio so we mostly hung out there. The second time I only had time for a quick one while we waited for the boat tour around the lake. I don't remember while local IPA I got, but I enjoyed it. I do with there were some other options for seating that were more comfortable, some comfy chairs or sofas would be nice to relax in. But I also understand and appreciate the simplicity of the business model and the need to keep staff levels low and be able to clean surfaces quickly. The service btw has always been very friendly and laid back, they are quick to move you through and remove glasses but still friendly and kind. read more

I visited the Geneva Taphouse for the first time this weekend. I loved the huge selection of beer and cider. The staff greeted us as soon as we came in the door and talked us through the tap selection and getting the fob that lets you pay by the ounce. That was a great feature that let me try different beverages until I found the one that I liked. I also had the turkey and provolone Panini. It was fantastic. The staff couldn't be friendlier, and they've got some awesome games like bags, connect four, or board/card games to keep you entertained while you chill. My brother, father and I went here on our short Lake Geneva golf trip. We were looking for a place that had decent tap selections and some food. Lake Geneva, though having many nice restaurants, really doesn't have a great bottle room or tap location. This place finally gives the area a good place for good beer. We decided we'd opt for their two key chains to give us 64 oz of beer that you can poor yourself after holding up your fab. The beer, wine, cider, and seltzer selections within their 50 handles is vast and encompasses a wide range of breweries from primarily Wisconsin and Illinois. The only real reason they get a 3.5-4 on this rating is because their food selection is minimal and pretty bland. With more options and more substantial offerings, this easily earns a five. The ambiance is fantastic with indoor and outdoor spaces. Pricing is fair and it's an easy learning curve to serve yourself! read more

I love this place. I was excited when it first opened and I enjoy the concept of self-serve. They have a nice selection of IPA's, but it is somewhat limited. The place is bright and cheerful. In the summer and in warmer weather you have the option of sitting outdoors on the patio. The Bavarian pretzel is excellent. Now for the downside of this venue. Dogs and children. First, this is a bar not a daycare, or a dog shelter. We went on Friday night to enjoy some beer and live music. We arrived around 5 pm, an hour before the music started. All the tables in the center of the venues main floor were reserved for a party of 30. We had a choice of sitting upstairs or on the outdoor patio. It was raining intermittently. The birthday guests did not arrive until 7-730. The upper balcony should be reserved for large parties, not the main floor and staging area. Second, dogs. Why are dogs allowed in a bar? This is not only unsanitary but a huge liability. People are drinking, talking loud, music playing, and dogs are knocking over chairs. Several times I went to the taps and had to step around dogs. Dogs should not be allowed in a place of business that serves food and alcohol. Dogs get overstimulated and have accidents and can bite if frightened. This is a huge liability. Third, children. Why are children allowed in a bar. I get the concept of family friendly, but this is a bar. You serve beer, wine, and pretzels. The children, on the nights I went with my wife, were running around unchecked. The musician was playing and a young girl was jumping up and down flailing in front of the artist. Why is this allowed? This is a tavern. We decided to give it another try the following night. Again, as we are walking in a woman passes us with a huge 70-80 pound white dog. As we ventured further inside at a table directly in front of the music stand was a table with 3-4 kids, all under 10, with a gigantic connect four game on the table. Where do I begin with how this is inappropriate and not conducive to an adult venue that is a BAR. I raised kids. I get you want to get out for the night. Get a babysitter, not a drink with your kids. Kids and dogs do not belong in bars. We left and went to the Baker House to enjoy a cocktail that catered to and understood that a bar is a place to relax and be around adults. I really love the Geneva Tap, but I can't see myself returning until it's understood and enforced by management as a place for adults to relax and have a beer. Take your dogs and kids to a park, not a bar. read more

It is $.69 cents an ounce or so , don't quote me. It was great then to sample the beers before getting a larger pour. This may be a long one but it's well worth typing and speaks volumes of this amazing business. My husband and I stumbled upon Geneva Tap House while visiting from California and after several recommendations from a few acquaintances that live nearby. At first, we were hesitant as we were told it was self serve and we always appreciate a great conversation from a normal bartender and love to have that service. But our negative thoughts were wiped away quickly after being greeted by a very enthusiastic and quite hilarious young man Jesse. Who we eventually found out was the taphouse manager. The second we opened the front doors he walked toward us and welcomed us with the biggest smile you can imagine. He walked us through the process from start to finish that took no more than 5 minutes. Might I add, for a business with a limited kitchen the food was great but we were hopeful for more options. But after talking with Jesse more, we now understand why that is. They wanted to keep the theater options alive within the new Tap House. And the fact they allow outside food in, is amazing! Jesse himself took our order and and even cooked everything himself to perfection even though he had an entire staff there with him. It was very refreshing to see a manager get behind the line and support his very busy staff which I might add was great with the exception of one staff member who was talking to him very rudely in front of us. He never let it affect his bubbly personality or smile and made sure to continue treating her and us with the upmost respect. After about 15 minutes into our food being delivered to our table, Jesse stopped by to check on us. That little gesture turned into a 35 minute conversation about our travels, life and everything in between. My husband and myself have never been in an establishment in Lake Geneva that has offered so much hospitality, to the point that we asked Jesse if he was the owner. We were shocked to learn a manager would go to great lengths to make our visit just that more special. The beer garden is beautiful, just missing a few flowers or plants Thank you again Jesse, because of you, you turned a stressful visit to tourist filled Lake Geneva, a beautiful one. My husband can't stop talking about it. We will certainly be back for more great beer, ciders and more great talks with Jesse. Keep up the great work team! I read of number of negative reviews, but found it was decent enough. Nice place. Bartender Torey is great, and drinks are good. Food is hit or miss. The place itself is so nice! We really wanted to like it more than we did. They have two stories and even an outdoor patio with a fire table. However, the options available on tap are so limited. We weren't able to find anything that we actually liked, yet still managed to have a pretty sizable tab (every choice is expensive!). They devote way too many taps to stouts and sours, but if that's your style then you'd probably enjoy Geneva Taphouse. What an awesome and unique concept. Only a few years ago I watched Avengers Infinity War in the old theatre that this place used to be. Great aesthetics and ambiance and the rotating beers will make for a different experience each time. Staff was awesome and engaging. This review is coming from a resident of LAS VEGAS! The Geneva Taphouse caught my attention in Las Vegas featuring 50 self-service taps, food and outdoor area. I decided to throw my husband a surprised 40th Birthday party while on a family trip. I reached out via Facebook and started working with the team about a month prior to my event and they were more than helpful supplying me with food menus, policies and procedures since we had children attending. They even figured out a way to successfully check IDs and place everyone on one big tab. Everyone in our party was very happy and was treated very well. The food items we ordered were: The Pretzels Bites, Bavarian Pub Pretzel, Charcuterie Board and a Grilled Panni. All the food items can comfortably feed about 4 people and exceeded our expectations. They were nice enough to let us lightly decorate for the party. We removed all the decorations by the end of the night. Don't waste your money. Rip off on so so beer. I was charged $16.09 for two very small tastes (less than an ounce each) and a pint of beer. The beer in my opinion was so so at best. I have never been charged this much for a beer even at a sporting event. Grew up in WI, but am currently from OR where you can purchase hundreds of great IPA for a heck of lot less.
